Abstract

Mastery of vocabulary is something that must be done by foreign language learners. The four language skills require mastery of vocabulary. The addition of vocabulary is often carried out independently by students which makes the addition of the vocabulary inconsistent so that an alternative way is needed to increase vocabulary, namely by utilizing online mass media texts to become the object of study in the Qiroah Taudzifiyah course. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online mass media texts in improving vocabulary mastery. This research includes action research. The subjects of this study were 5th semester students of class 5A in 2021/2022 PBA UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, which consisted of 30 students. The data collection technique uses observation and questionnaires and the data analysis method uses qualitative analysis techniques equipped with some quantitative descriptive data. The results showed that use of mass media is effective to improve mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The evidence is the increase in the average pretest and posttest results of students where in the first cycle it increased by 35 points of assessment and in the second cycle increased by 20 points of assessment. Abstrak Penguasaan kosakata menjadi sebuah hal yang sangat wajib dilakukan oleh seseorang dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua. Keempat kemahiran bahasa memerlukan adanya penguasaan kosakata. Penambahan kosakata sering kali dilaksanakan secara mandiri oleh mahasiswa yang membuat penambahan kosakata tersebut menjadi tidak konsisten, sehingga diperlukan adanya sebuah cara alternatif untuk melakukan penambahan kosakata, yaitu: dengan memanfaatkan teks media massa online untuk menjadi objek kajian dalam mata kuliah Qiroah Taudzifiyah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas teks media massa online dalam meningkatkan penguasaan mufrodat. yang dilakukan kepada mahasiswa PBA UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. Penelitian ini termasuk action research atau penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 5 kelas 5A tahun 2021/2022 PBA UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, yang terdiri dari 30 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan angket dan Metode Analisa data menggunakan Teknik analisis kualitatif dengan dilengkapi dengan beberapa data deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media massa efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaaan kosakata bahasa Arab. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan rata-rata hasil pretest dan postest mahasiswa dimana pada siklus I meningkat sebesar 35 poin penilaian dan pada siklus kedua meningkat sebesar 20 poin penilaian.

Abstract

Education is currently faced with the 21st century, where students need various skills in addition to knowledge content. This study aims to develop semester lesson plan (Rencana Pembelajaran Semester/RPS) in the mahārat al-istimā‘ course, Arabic Language Education study program at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakrta. The method used in this research is research and development (R & D). The R & D procedure used in this research is the development model of Successive Approximation Models 1 (SAM 1) which was introduced by Micheal W. Allen. The results show that based on needs analysis, some shortcomings were found in the RPS of mahārat al-istimā‘. Subject learning outcomes (CPMK) in each RPS field have not been integrated. The difference in CPMK in courses in the same plot is enough to show that the design of the mahārat al-istimā‘ course is not related. The RPS design developed is to make a rough RPS design using the KKNI and MBKM models. The results of product evaluation on experts are quite good. This means that the mahārat al-istimā‘ RPS that is developed is integrated with each other.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperluas wawasan siswa mengenai bahaya bullying, membentuk budaya positif di sekolah, dan mencegah terjadinya kekerasan antar siswa. Kegiatan ini berada di SD Muhammadiyah Gantiwarno dan diikuti oleh siswa kelas V. Metode yang digunakan meliputi perizinan kepada kepala sekolah, observasi, penyusunan materi, dan pelaksanaan sosialisasi bahaya bullying. Materi disampaikan melalui ceramah, sesi tanya jawab, dan pemberian doorprize. Sosialisasi mencakup pengenalan definisi bullying, macam-macam bullying, contoh bahasa bullying, dampak negatif, cara menghadapi bullying, refleksi bagi pelaku bullying, serta alasan untuk tidak membully. Hasil dari sosialisasi ini memberikan dampak positif berupa meningkatnya pemahaman siswa mengenai bahaya bullying. Sosialisasi ini dirancang sebagai upaya preventif yang efektif untuk membangun lingkungan belajar yang aman, nyaman, dan bebas dari tindakan kekerasan.

Abstract

The Youth Health Post is a strategic platform for health promotion and prevention efforts. Low physical activity levels, unbalanced diets, and minimal youth participation in community-based health activities are the main issues that need to be addressed. This community service activity was conducted by students from the UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Community Service Program (KKN) in Baturan Village, Gantiwarno Sub-district, Klaten District, with the aim of enhancing awareness of healthy living through the empowerment of the Youth Health Post. The method used was descriptive qualitative, involving coordination, simple health checks (LILA, blood pressure measurement, and administration of TTD), group healthy exercises, and health education sessions. The results showed an increase in the enthusiasm and participation of adolescent girls in Posyandu activities. Healthy exercises proved to be an effective means of fostering healthy living habits, while health education and check-ups enhanced adolescents' knowledge about anaemia prevention and the importance of physical activity. Challenges included coordination with schools and villages, limited resources, and difficulties in consistently gathering adolescents. Overall, the activity effectively increased awareness of healthy living and strengthened the role of the Youth Health Post as a community empowerment centre.

Abstract

Willingness to Communicate (WTC) plays a crucial role in second language acquisition, significantly influencing both the frequency and fluency of language use across different contexts. This study examines the levels of WTC among students in the Arabic Language Education (PBA) and Arabic Language and Literature (BSA) programs at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, within three communicative settings: in-class (IC), out-of-class (OC), and digital contexts (DC). The research further investigates the underlying psychological and contextual factors that shape students’ WTC in Arabic. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were collected from 213 participants  and analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative insights were derived from focus group discussions. Results reveal that BSA students consistently demonstrate higher WTC across all contexts, particularly in classroom interactions. Contributing factors include the learning environment, perceived language competence, and psychological variables such as anxiety and self-confidence. The study underscores the importance of supportive pedagogical environments and participatory teaching strategies in enhancing students’ communicative motivation. By identifying both enabling and inhibiting factors, this research contributes to Arabic language education discourse by advocating for context-sensitive interventions that foster communicative competence and sustain language use in diverse academic and social settings.
