Negative stigma and discriminatory can cause high psychological distress and feelings of anxiety. Excessive anxiety will cause feelings of uncertainty, guilt, depression, and helplessness, anxiety, phobias, illusions and hallucinations, thus affecting the quality of life. This study aims to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on anxiety levels in women of reproductive age couples (WPUS) with HIV / AIDS. The research method used a quasi-experimental with One group pretest-posttest design. The sample was 10 people with HIV / AIDS. Data obtained using HARS and analyzed the T-dependent test with a significance test of p value 0.05 (95% CI). The results showed that the average anxiety index before progressive muscle relaxation therapy was 29.90 (severe anxiety), the average anxiety index after progressive muscle relaxation therapy was 16.50 (mild anxiety). The results of the analysis showed that there was an effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on the anxiety level of WPUS suffering from HIV / AIDS (p Value = 0.000). It is hoped that this progressive muscle relaxation therapy can be used to reduce the anxiety level of women of reproductive age couples (WPUS) suffering from HIV / AIDS through health education and demonstration of progressive muscle relaxation therapy movement.

Telehealth which is carried out in a structured manner has the potential to increase interest in choosing long-term contraceptive methods, so the purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of telehealth on interest in choosing long-term contraceptive methods in postpartum women in Cimahi City. This type of research is a quasi-experimental. This study used a randomized pretest-posttest with a control group. Sampling was carried out by stratified random sampling on 50 postpartum mothers in Cimahi City. The selected samples were grouped in a simple random order so that there were 25 people for the treatment group and 25 people for the control group. The treatment group was given counseling using Telehealth while the control group was given standard counseling using the family planning module. The difference in the increase in interest in the treatment and control groups was tested by the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed a significant difference in interest scores after telehealth counseling was carried out between the treatment and control groups with a median interest of 17 (13-19) with a p value <0.05. In addition, telehealth influences the interest in choosing long-term contraceptive methods in postpartum women. The conclusion of this study, telehealth which is carried out in a structured manner can increase interest in choosing long-term contraceptive methods.

Abstract

Efforts to promote child health aim to reduce the mortality rate of newborns, infants, and toddlers. One way to decrease the mortality rate among children under five is by enhancing the skills of healthcare workers in providing care through the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness approach. Implementing this approach effectively and on a wider scale can be cost-effective and significantly contribute to reducing the death rate among neonates, infants, and children under five. The aim of this study is to provide care management for sick toddlers through integrated management of childhood illness approach. This study is a case study that employs a descriptive observational method to examine the application of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness approach. The subject of the case study is a 4-year 8-month old toddler. The study took place at PMB Siti Nuraeni in September 2023. Data was collected directly (primary data) using the Varney management approach and documented using the SOAP format (subjective data assessment, objective data assessment, data analysis, and case management). The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The study concludes that data analysis is conducted by assessing subjective and objective data of a 4-year-8-month-old toddler, who has a cough but no pneumonia. The care for subject, is provided in line with the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness approach. The study recommends that midwives should be able to observe and detect early signs of danger that may occur during the growth and development of toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Postpartum depression is a common mental health disorder among women after childbirth, with high prevalence in developing countries, including Indonesia. Inadequate birth preparation may increase maternal stress and emotional disturbances during the postpartum period. This study aimed to examine the effect of a birth plan on the prevention of postpartum depression in independent midwifery practices in the Derwati Health Center area, Bandung City. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a post-test only control group design was conducted on 30 third-trimester pregnant women, divided into an experimental group (with a birth plan) and a control group (without a birth plan). Postpartum depression was measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Data were analyzed using the Mann– Whitney test. Results: In the experimental group, 1 respondent (6.7%) experienced postpartum depression, compared with 2 respondents (13.3%) in the control group. The Mann–Whitney test indicated a statistically significant difference between groups (p = 0.019). However, the small sample size limits the generalizability of these findings. Conclusion: Birth planning may contribute to reducing the risk of postpartum depression; however, larger and more rigorous studies are required to confirm this finding.

Abstract

Risky sexual behavior among adolescents is a public health issue influenced by various factors. This study was motivated by the serious consequences of such behavior on adolescents' physical, mental, and social health, including unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, exposure to reproductive health information, social life, and parenting style with risky sexual behavior among adolescents. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using proportional random sampling from junior and senior high school students in Sukanagara Subdistrict, Cianjur Regency, totaling 334 respondents based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. Multivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between knowledge (p=0.019), attitudes (p=0.031), and gender (p=0.021) and risky sexual behavior. However, no significant associations were found with exposure to reproductive health information, parenting style, or social life. Knowledge was identified as the most dominant factor influencing risky sexual behavior among adolescents. It is recommended that reproductive health education for adolescents be enhanced through approaches that involve schools, families, and communities in order to reduce risky sexual behavior.
