Abstract

This study explores the impact of investor behavior on stock market stability through the lens of Islamic principles, emphasizing justice and transparency. Employing a systematic literature review approach, the research analyzes 200 relevant articles from 2019–2023 to investigate the relationship between investor behaviors—such as speculation and gharar (uncertainty)—and market volatility. The data were derived from a comprehensive scholarly literature review, including academic journals, articles, books, and research reports. By synthesizing relevant sources, the study offers an in-depth understanding of investor behavior and the implications of Islamic perspectives on stock market stability. The findings reveal that behaviors aligned with Shariah principles, including avoiding speculation and reinforcing transparency, contribute significantly to enhancing stock market stability. Moreover, the study underscores the importance of implementing Shariah-based regulations and promoting Islamic financial literacy to support ethical investment practices. The practical implications of this research include recommendations for regulators to integrate Shariah ethical standards into market policies and encourage market participants to adopt fundamental analysis consistent with Shariah principles. Finally, the study opens avenues for future research to explore empirical applications in specific stock markets and their impact on sustainable economic policies.

Abstract

Sharia cooperatives play a pivotal role in advancing Islamic economic development by offering financial services aligned with Islamic principles. Nonetheless, sustaining member loyalty remains a significant challenge. This study investigates the impact of Sharia governance on member loyalty within Sharia cooperatives in Banda Aceh City and examines the moderating role of religiosity in this relationship. Employing an explanatory research design, primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 200 purposively selected respondents. The data were analyzed using moderated regression analysis to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that Sharia governance exerts a positive and significant influence on member loyalty. However, religiosity was found to weaken this relationship, indicating that members with higher levels of religiosity tend to rely more on personal beliefs than institutional governance when forming loyalty. These results suggest that member engagement strategies should not only focus on structural and governance compliance but also incorporate the diverse religious values held by cooperative members. The study offers practical implications for enhancing loyalty in faith-based financial institutions. Limitations include the cross-sectional nature of the data and its geographic restriction to a single region, which may affect the generalizability of the results. Future research is encouraged to include broader contexts and longitudinal data.

Abstract

Sharia cooperatives have emerged as an alternative solution in poverty alleviation efforts, especially in Aceh Province, which has officially implemented a Sharia-based financial system. This study aims to explore the role of Sharia cooperatives in empowering impoverished communities through a qualitative descriptive approach informed by a literature review. Based on a review of more than 25 national and international academic sources, this study highlights how sharia cooperatives provide inclusive financial access, create employment opportunities, and promote economic independence, particularly for vulnerable groups, including women and Micro And Small Enterprises (MSMEs). The findings demonstrate that sharia cooperatives not only enhance economic welfare but also foster social solidarity, expand access to decent housing, and integrate Islamic values into community life. In addition, sharia cooperatives also support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the aspects of poverty alleviation (SDG 1) and women's empowerment (SDG 5). Despite facing structural challenges such as low managerial capacity and regulatory support, sharia cooperatives still have great potential as a value-based economic instrument in realizing a just and prosperous society. This study recommends integrating sharia cooperatives into the national digital-based economic ecosystem to strengthen their contribution to inclusive and equitable development.
