Abstract

Environmental sanitation is aimed at creating a safe and comfortable place, by making efforts to prevent disease in order to realize good environmental quality in terms of physical, chemical, biological and social. This research discusses the sanitation of public places, one of which is the workplace. The workplace is a place that does not escape the reach of the community. One of the scopes of the workplace is the workspace and work facilities for employees in the office, this is usually reached by office employees, therefore, the importance of knowledge about sanitation needs to be considered, especially for employees and cleaning service (janitors) in the office. This activity was carried out at the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs located on Jalan Taman Siswa RT. 02, RW 01 Kelurahan Talang ubi selatan, Kecamatan talang ubi, Kabupaten PALI, which aims to increase the knowledge and level of public awareness about the importance of maintaining sanitation in the office environment and build direct interaction between office employees and cleaning service officers. The activities carried out in the form of providing education to employees and cleaning service officers at the Cooperative and SME Office. The expected results of this activity are that it can provide knowledge to the community, especially in the application of sanitation and maintaining the cleanliness of the office environment, reducing disease transmission and the formation of cooperation between office employees and cleaning service officers in realizing a healthy work environment.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Flies are disease vectors that can interfere with public health, one of which is through the transmission of diarrhoea. This study aims to determine the relationship between fly density and the incidence of diarrhoea at PT Alno Agro Utama Sumindo Estate. The study used an analytical descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach, involving 36 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires and measurement of fly density using a fly grill. Of the 36 respondents, 21 (58.3%) had diarrhoea and 15 (41.7%) did not. The analysis showed a significant association between fly density and the incidence of diarrhoea with a p value = 0.000, indicating that the higher the density of flies, the greater the likelihood of diarrhoea. There is a significant association between fly density and incidence of diarrhoea at PT Alno Agro Utama Sumindo Estate, emphasising the need for interventions to control fly population and improve environmental sanitation. Keywords: Diarrhoea, Fly Density, Sanitation, Public Health  ABSTRAK Lalat merupakan vektor penyakit yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan masyarakat, salah satunya melalui penularan diare. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepadatan lalat dan kejadian diare di PT. Alno Agro Utama Sumindo Estate. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, melibatkan 36 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan pengukuran kepadatan lalat menggunakan fly grill.Dari 36 responden, 21 (58,3%) mengalami diare dan 15 (41,7%) tidak. Analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kepadatan lalat dan kejadian diare dengan nilai p = 0,000, yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kepadatan lalat, semakin besar kemungkinan terjadinya diare. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kepadatan lalat dan kejadian diare di PT. Alno Agro Utama Sumindo Estate, yang menekankan perlunya intervensi untuk mengendalikan populasi lalat dan meningkatkan sanitasi lingkungan. Kata Kunci: Diare, Kepadatan Lalat, Sanitasi, Kesehatan Masyarakat
