Abstract

Stunted or short stature is a nutritional problem caused by a lack of nutrient intake for a long time in the first 1000 days of life (HPK). Stunting in West Sumatra increased by 5.1% from 25.5% to 30.6% in 2017. The health education was conducted at Posyandu Lilia 3, Lapai Primary Health Care working area, one of the Health Primary Care in Padang City. The purpose of the activity is to improve the knowledge and nutritional behaviour of pregnant women and toddler mothers regarding 1000 HPK to improve children's nutritional status and health. Before education was conducted, the target group data collection was done, namely the number of pregnant women and toddler mothers and measured the height of toddlers. The implementation of education was carried out in conjunction with Integrated Community Service (Posyandu) activities. Before the health education was conducted, the target group was asked to fill out a questionnaire to get an overview of their prior knowledge. The health education, attended by 16 pregnant women and toddler mothers, was conducted face-to-face by applying health protocols. This activity is followed up by indirect education through Whatsapp and social media using leaflets. The results of the pre-test and post-test were analyzed, and it concluded that this health education improved the target group's knowledge. This increase in knowledge is also expected to improve their balanced nutritional attitudes and behaviours. --- Stunting atau pendek merupakan masalah gizi yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya asupan gizi dalam waktu lama pada masa 1000 hari pertama kehidupan (HPK). Stunting di Sumatera Barat mengalami peningkatan sebesar 5,1% dari tahun 2016 yaitu 25,5% menjadi 30,6% pada tahun 2017. Edukasi kesehatan harus terus dilaksanakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan masyarakat untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Edukasi ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Kampung Lapai, wilayah kerja Puskesmas Lapai yang merupakan salah satu Puskesmas di pusat kota Padang. Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku gizi ibu hamil dan ibu balita mengenai 1000 HPK dalam upaya meningkatkan status gizi dan kesehatan anak. Sebelum dilakukan edukasi, terlebih dahulu dilakukan pengumpulan data kelompok sasaran yaitu jumlah ibu hamil dan ibu balita serta pengukuran tinggi badan balita. Pelaksanaan edukasi berupa penyuluhan dilakukan berbarengan dengan kegiatan Posyandu. Sebelum penyuluhan dilakukan, kelompok sasaran diminta mengisi kuesioner untuk mendapatkan gambaran pengetahuan awal. Penyuluhan yang dihadiri oleh 16 orang ibu hamil dan ibu balita ini dilakukan secara langsung dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan. Kegiatan ini ditindaklanjuti dengan edukasi tidak langsung melalui media sosial Whatsapp menggunakan media leaflet. Hasil pre test dan post test dianalisis dan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa edukasi kesehatan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan kelompok sasaran. Peningkatan pengetahuan ini diharapkan juga juga akan meningkatkan sikap dan perilaku gizi seimbang mereka.

Abstract

One effort to improve nutritional status is consuming nutritious food and nutrition education for children to instill healthy eating habits from an early age. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of providing snacks on the nutritional status and nutritional intake of adolescents. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest design without a control group. The research subjects were adolescents aged 11-14 years. Snacks are given for 1 month that meets ± 20% energy and ± 8% protein and ± 15% fat. T-test to analyze the nutritional status of adolescents and nutrient intake before and after giving the distraction food. The results of this study showed that providing distracting food could increase body mass index (p-value=0,000), student weight (p-value=0,000), intake of protein (p-value=0,000), vitamin C (p-value=0,0008), and zinc (p-value=0,0004), but height, carbohydrate intake, and iron intake had no significant effect (p-value>0,05). This study concluded that the provision of snack food effectively increased students' nutritional knowledge, student weight, and intake of protein, vitamin C, and zinc, but height and body mass index, as well as carbohydrates and iron, did not increase significantly. The suggestion from this study is that distraction for adolescents is highly recommended to improve nutritional status so schools should be able to make a policy in providing distracting food as a program to improve adolescent nutrition at school.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Stunting adalah kondisi gagal tumbuh pada anak balita akibat dari kekurangan gizi kronis sehingga anak lebih pendek dari standar anak usianya. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah stunting pada anak yakni dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu melalui edukasi gizi. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh edukasi gizi menggunakan media buku saku terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil tentang manajemen laktasi untuk pencegahan stunting Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi ekskperimen pre-test and post-test with control group. Sampel terdiri dari 40 orang ibu hamil di wilyah kerja Puskesmas Koto Panjang Ikua Koto yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Paired Sample t-Test dan Independent Sample Test. Hasil: Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil tentang manajemen laktasi setelah diberikan intervensi (p<0.05). Terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil mengenai manajamen laktasi setelah diberikan intervensi berupa buku saku (p<0,05) Kesimpulan: Edukasi gizi menggunakan media buku saku berpengaruh terhadap perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil tentang manajemen laktasi untuk pencegahan stunting

Abstract

Elementary School 10 Timpeh is one of the schools in the 3T area in Sungai Bulian, Timpeh District, Dharmasraya Regency, with a distance of 197 km from Padang City. SDN 10 Timpeh has a School Health Unit (SHU) but has been inactive, and the room has been converted into a warehouse. This activity aims to reactivate and optimize SHU functions at SDN 10 Timpeh. The first method was carried out through training activities for ten students who were selected to become cadres of little doctors from classes 3,4, and 5. The second method was done with lectures, discussions about clean and healthy behaviour for all students. The strengthening of the theory is also accompanied by stimulation of the affective and psycho-motor domains of students through the exercise of using soap and running water, giving students fruit and milk, as well as the practice of handling students who move to school by a cadre of little doctors who have been previously selected. Evaluation of this program is done through pre-test and post-test. After training and coaching, there was a significant increase in students' knowledge of the little doctor's subject matter by 10 points, and the Wilcoxon test results showed an increase in student knowledge. The students of SDN 10 Timpeh were enthusiastic about this activity. The advocacy management results were strengthened by the issuance of a headmaster decree on the control of the SHU and the appointment of a supervisor of the SHU as well as an explanation of his job description. It is expected that the Public Health Centre, Schools, and coaches will continue to carry out these SHU activities on a scheduled and periodic evaluation.

Abstract

The high rate of violence, abuse and sexual perversion among children in Indonesia is increasingly worrying. Sexual education has not yet been included in the academic curriculum in primary or secondary schools in Indonesia. Sexual education is still thematic and given when meeting the right moment that is not planned. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about sexual problem prevention behavior for children using serial card education media. The activity was carried out at SDN 36 Gunung Sarik Padang, for 54 grade 6 students. The method of this activity was divided into several stages, namely brainstorming with the school principal, developing serial card education media, disseminating serial card media to schools, and sexual education using serial card media. to students. The paired data hypothesis analysis results obtained from the pre-test and post-test for students showed that sexual education using serial card media was effective in increasing students' knowledge of preventive behavior from various risks of violence, harassment, and sexual perversion. Continuous efforts are needed in shaping positive behaviors to prevent sexual problems in children, with the involvement of various parties, such as parents, teachers and peers, as well as policies from upstream in the form of the provision of an academic curriculum.

Abstract

Nutritional problems in children under five age show an increasing trend in Indonesia, including Padang City. One of these nutritional problems is stunting. Stunting conditions can have an impact on the growth and development of children at a later age and even at the risk of developing degenerative diseases in adulthood. The purpose of nutrition education for mothers is to increase the knowledge and understanding of mothers about the importance of the First 1000 Days of Life in overcoming the nutritional problems among children. Activity was direct counseling to small groups about 1000 Days of Life and supported by leaflet. The target of the activity is pregnant women and mothers with toddlers who visit one of the Posyandu in Lapai Health Center Work Area, Nanggalo District, Padang City. Partner of this activity is Lapai Health Centre, mainly coorporate with nutritionist and health workers, including cadres in this health centre. Monitoring and evaluation of the success of activities are assessed from the results of the pre- and post-test submitted to the target of the activity. Educational activities were carried out well even though they were still in the pandemic and the implementation of social distancing. This activity was attended by 12 mothers of toddlers, 2 cadres, and 2 health workers from Lapai Health Center. Based on the results of the pre and post-test, it was found that there is an increase in the knowledge of mothers (66.7% to 83.3%). Thus, educational activities in the form of counseling through collaboration with educational institutions and health institutions can be carried out through Posyandu every month to prevent nutritional problems on children under five age.
