Abstract

The balance of work life in Indonesia has become an issue that has received more attention for various companies and agencies. The balance of work life is vital to be able to balance all aspects of the life of workers, both related to personal growth and work life. This study aims to examine the correlation of social support empirically and work-life balance. The more positive the support received, the higher the level of work-life balance. Respondents in this study are people who work both married and those who have not, amounting to 77 respondents. The measuring instrument used is a work-life balance scale with a Cronbach coefficient alpha and a social support scale with a Cronbach alpha coefficient. The data analysis method used is a statistical method with help with SPSS 24 for windows program facilities. Correlation test shows the results of social support and work-life balance have a correlation coefficient r of 0.730 and p = 0.001 (p <0.01). The results of the analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between social support and work-life balance, and thus the research hypothesis is accepted

Abstract

The aim of this research was to empirically examine the correlation between employee's perception about their leader's assertiveness and their work engagement level. The level ofperception about assertiveness of leaders on employees is directly proportional to the work engagement level. Subjects in this study were 70 employees of PTX. The measurement tool used is Work Engagement Scale which adapted from aspect of Schaufeli andBakker's theory. Whereas, perception on leader's assertiveness scale was based on the theory by Eisler, Miller & Hersen, Johnson & Pinkton. Statistic method by SPSS ¡5.00 for windows was applied to analyze data. The product moment correlation from Pearson showed that correlation coefficient r= 0.768, p= 0.000, p<0.01. The test result showed a significant positive correlation between employee's perception about assertiveness of their leader and work engagement level on them. Then, the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Keywords: work engagement, employee's perception about assertiveness oftheir leader.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to empirically examine the correlation between internal factors (emotional intelligence and psychological capital}, and external factor (social support) with work stress. The level of emotional intelligence, psychological capital and social support is inversely proportional to the work stress level. The respondents of this study consists of the employees who have the loads and more responsibilities at work. The number of respondents involved is a nurse at a private hospital in the province as many as 61 people, the crew (ABK) in the Port of Boom Baru Palembang as many as 88 people, and employees at Printing in Yogyakarta as many as 84 people. The measurement tool used is Emotional Intelligence Scale, Psychological Capital Scale, Social Support Scale and Work Stress Scale. Statistic method by SPSS for windows was applied to analyze data. Correlation test showed the results of emotional intelligence and work stress has a correlation coefficient r= -0792, p= 0.000 (p <0.01), psychological capital and job stress has a correlation coefficient r= -0.308, p= 0.011 (p <0.05), social support and work stress has a correlation coefficient r= -0.686, p= 0.000 (p <0.05). The test result showed a sigmificant negative correlation between internal factors and external factor with work stress. Then, the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Keywords: work stress, emotional intelligence, psychological capital, social support

Abstract

This study attempt to search the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment of the café employees. The hypotesis tested which based on the assumption that higer transformational leadership was correlated with higer organizational commitment. A subject of 58 employees were selected for this study. Employees included server, production, managers. Data were collected by the Transformational Leadership Questionare based aspects proposed by Bass (1990) and a=0,879 Organizational Commitment Questionare was modificaton from Allen and Meyer (1990) and a=0,884. This study analysis used Product moment correlation by Pearson. The analysis showed that there is significant relationship between transformasional leadership and organizational commitment p=0.004 (p<0.05). Result showed in an increasing the transformational leadership then increasing organizational commitment the employee to work. This is important to increase productivity an efficiency in an organization. Abstract

This Study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and job stress among Air Traffic Controllers in one of airport in Indonesia. The Hypothesis of this study is that there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and job stress among Air Traffic Controller. The Subjects in this study involved 70 Air Traffic Controllers, age ranged from 21 to 50 years. 50 males and 20 females. Self-efficacy scale with 18 aitems ( alpha = 0.888)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana pengaruh pelatihan terhadap kohesivitas tim. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 25 orang tenaga kependidikan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan model rancangan prates dan pascates dengan menggunakan kelompok eksperimen (one-group pretest-posttest design). Subjek penelitian diberi perlakuan berupa pelatihan dengan metode outbound training. Pengukuran dilakukan sebelum pelatihan berlangsung dengan menggunakan 45 pernyataan yang terdapat dalam skala kohesivitas tim dan satu bulan setelah perlakuan. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang dilakukan memberikan pengaruh terhadap kohesivitas tim. Terdapat peningkatan kohesivitas tim setelah diberi pelatihan.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the effectiveness of counseling as an effort to improve transformational leadership in managing organizational change. The research subject were 4 individuals whose transformational leadership style may be improved. Research subject was selected randomly from 7 heads of division In FTI Ull. Selected subjects were divided Into 2 groups (2 subjects in experiment group, and 2 sub/eots in control group). Experiment group was provided with counseling treatment directed to be able to understand transformational leadership concept and applying it in working site applying Measurement was done before treatment using 33 statements on transformational leadership from Multifaclor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and 2 months after treatment using MLQ and transformational behaviour checklist. The data obtained was compared and analyzed using Chi-Square test Inaddkion. the result of counseling and working sheet were denned from implementation andaré also used in measuring effectiveness of counseling Qualitative analysis was stressed in this research. The result of the research indicated that counseling can improve individual transformational leadership.Keywords. Transformational, Leadership, Counseling

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji sikap, norma subjektif dan kontrol perilaku sebagai faktor-faktor penentu intensi penggunaan kantong dan sedotan plastik. Responden penelitian ini melibatkan 150 responden yang terdiri atas responden laki-laki 42 orang dan 108 responden perempuan. Usia responden antara 16 – 25 (M= 20; SD= 19). Pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala yang disusun berdasarkan theory of planned behavior. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa sikap terhadap pro-lingkungan, norma subjektif, dan kontrol perilaku yang dipersepsikan (PBC) secara bersama-sama memberikan sumbangan sebesar 47,7 % untuk menjelaskan varian intensi pro-lingkungan, F (3,146)=44,31, p<0,000. Selain itu, secara parsial sikap dan kontrol perilaku (PBC) memprediksi secara signifikan intensi pro-lingkungan, namun  norma subjektif ditemukan tidak dapat memprediksi intensi pro-lingkungan, b= 0,21, p<0,005 untuk variabel sikap, b= 0,47, p<0,000 untuk variabel kontrol perilaku, dan b= 0,13, p>n.s untuk norma subjektif.

Abstract

Self-perceived employability (SPE) is important for students entering the workforce in the digital era. This study aimed to explore the correlation between online social support (OSS), social media user types (SMUT), and SPE with career adaptability (CAD) serving as a mediator. It also examined the relationship of several covariates such as work experience, international exposure, and organizational experience. A total of 360 students comprising males (19.4%) and females (80.6%) participated voluntarily in this study. The data was further collected using a Likert scale measuring OSS ( = .88), SPE ( = .85), and CAD ( = .86) with eight items for all variables. Furthermore, a five item statement was used to assess SMUT where respondents selected the item most appropriate to the condition. The results of Structural Equation Model (SEM) testing carried out using RStudio with the Lavaan package version 0.6-18 showed that OSS played an important role in improving SPE both directly and through CAD. Although SMUT did not significantly affect SPE through CAD, it suggested a broader impact when considering the total effect. This study further emphasized the importance of fostering OSS to increase career adaptability and eventually improve SPE. Additionally, the results contributed to the literature by providing empirical evidence regarding the factors influencing students’ SPE. Practically, this study could support career development programs focused on student character.

Abstract

Job stress is the pressure due to the difficult situation encountered in the workplace. Job stress can have a negative impact, decrease in the individuals ability in the completion of tasks. One of the factors that influence job stress is work-family conflict. This study aims to design an intervention that can be reduce job stress on people with work-family conflict. The intervention design created in the form of gratitude training prepared based on the research that has been done before. The study test the correlation between work-family conflict and job stress. Reliability coefficient alpha of job stress scale is 0,765 and work-family conflict scale is 0.930. This preliminary study involving 182 muslim respondents consisting of 118 women and 64 men with age range between 23 years to 60 years. Respondents working at the government service in Yogyakarta spread in 5 places namely the Province of Yogyakarta, Sleman, Bantul, Kulon Progo and Gunung Kidul. The results showed that work-family conflict has positive correlation to job stress (p< 0.00), these indicate that if there are has high work-family conflict, the job stress will be high too. Based on 182 muslim respondents, there are 74 people (46 women and 28 men) who showed the job stress and work-family conflict in the range category of moderate to very high. It means that these respondents experienced a work-family conflict and job stress. The design of interventions in the form of gratitude training is compiled based on the cognitive behavioral approach to gratitude exercise, and the concept of gratitude related to optimization cognitive, affective and psychomotor of participants through the introduction turn back of blessings given from Allah. The steps conducted in the training that is (a) identifying the wrong thoughts (deficiencies, weaknesses or regret over the fate), (b) formulate things that support the mind of gratitude, (c) replace wrong thoughts toward thoughts of gratitude, and (d) applying gratitude in the heart, the thoughts, words and actions. The expectation is the design of gratitude training can be used to reduce work stress on people with work-family conflict.
