Abstract

After the covid 19 period ended, learning at Medan State University was conducted face-to-face and online, creating good learning media and design is part of the effort to achieve learning objectives effectively as mandated by the education system. This study aims to develop hybrid learning multimedia assisted by telegram, which is feasible, practical and makes students independent and influential. The research was conducted at the Physics Department of State University of Medan. The phases that will be carried out during the research are needs analysis, design of learning multimedia, development and validation of learning multimedia, implementation of multimedia to students, and internal and external evaluation. The resulting product is a learning multimedia that will be applied to partners, namely students of the Physics Department who take Modern Physics courses. This multimedia was sent to the Telegram group class of 2021 B and 2021 C students. The results of this study are: (a) the percentage of assessment scores for learning multimedia from material experts is 81% and the percentage of assessment scores from media experts is 83% (b) the percentage of student independence questionnaires is 83.8% (c) the percentage of student practicality questionnaires is 88.2% (d) N-gain for PSPF 2021-B is obtained, the result obtained is 0.23 because N-gain <0.23 in the low category and N-gain for PSPF 2021-C is obtained, the result obtained is 0.3 in the medium category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan multimedia presentasi berbasis problem based learning berbantuan canva pada materi fluida statis yang layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (four-D). Instrumen yang digunakan ada tiga yaitu, instrumen kelayakan media pembelajaran ditinjau dari ahli media, instrumen kelayakan materi ditinjau dari ahli materi dan instrumen respon siswa terhadap keefktifan media pembelajaran. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 30 siswa kelas XI MIA di SMA Negeri 16 Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dalam uji coba yaitu 30 siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 91,4 dikategorikan sangat layak. Hasil perolehan nilai 30 siswa kelas XI MIA-3 memperoleh rata-rata pretest 25,5 dan postest 85 jika dihitung dengan gain ternormalisasi menunjukkan nilai gain sebesar 0,78 dengan kategori tinggi. Adanya peningkatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa multimedia presentasi berbasis model problem based learning berbantuan canva pada materi fluida statis efektif digunakan di SMA Negeri 16 Medan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop an e-book physics learning media based on problem based learning (PBL) using a professional flip pdf on the Business & Energy material and to test the feasibility of the e-book media developed through expert validation and to find out the attractiveness of teacher and student responses. The research and development steps are guided by the 4-D Thiagaraja cycle model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The develop stage involves two validators to assess the feasibility of the material and media. The Disseminate stage involved 31 students (at SMA N 3, Binjai). The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire with qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results of this study indicate that; (1) The variable of the feasibility test of e-books as learning media by media experts, the overall average score is 100% and by material experts, the overall average score is 98% which belongs to the high category, meaning that e-books developed with professional flip pdf is very feasible to use. (2) The effectiveness variable has an overall average score of 90.93% which is classified in the very effective category, meaning that the e-book is quite effective in helping students increase the value of learning physics in the work & Energy material. (3) The results of the physics teacher response at SMA N 3 BINJAI to the e-book with an overall average score of 88.2% with the Eligibility criteria and product trials for students to respond to the e-book with an overall average score of 86 % with Eligible criteria, it can be concluded that the e-book received a good response from teachers and students.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce physics LKPD based on Cooperative GI on the subject matter of Static Fluid which is feasible to be applied in the physics learning process at school and determine the response of students after using the developed LKPD.The subjects in this study were students of class XI MIPA totaling 18 students. This type of research is a development research or Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D Model. The instruments used in this study consisted of a validation questionnaire for material experts and learning experts, a questionnaire for the assessment of physics teachers, and a questionnaire for students' responses to the physics LKPD based on cooperative learning. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive. From the results of data analysis obtained material expert validation of 82%, learning experts 81%, physics teacher assessment of 90% with each of these percentages included in the very good category. While in the broad trial the percentage of student responses with a sample of 15 people was 86.06% with very good criteria, so that based on the results of validation, physics teacher assessment and student responses it can be concluded that Cooperative-based physics LKPD on the subject matter of Static Fluid is feasible to use in the learning process. Abstract

This research is urgent due to the need for an assessment instrument that measures students’ critical thinking rather than memorization, supporting contextual evaluations aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to develop an authentic assessment instrument in the form of cause and effect multiple choice questions that can measure students' critical thinking skills in the subject of temperature and heat. This study is a research and development. The study uses the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection techniques used in this study included expert validation sheets to assess content validity, student response questionnaires to measure practicality, and test instruments administered to 11th grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Medan to evaluate empirical validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques consisted of Aiken’s V analysis to determine the validity of the items based on expert judgment, reliability testing using Cronbach’s. The validation results showed that the instrument was highly valid based on the Aiken index. Of the 50 questions developed, 36 were declared feasible and valid. The reliability test showed a value of 0.946, which is classified as very high. The difficulty level of the questions ranged from 0.30 to 0.71, with 3 questions classified as difficult, 29 as moderate, and 4 as easy. The discriminating power of the questions ranged from 0.20 to 0.70, with 10 questions in the good category, 23 questions in the fair category, and 3 questions in the poor category. The effectiveness of the distractors showed that 35 questions were very good and 1 question was fair. These results indicate that the authentic assessment instrument developed is suitable for measuring students' critical thinking skills and can assist teachers in conducting more comprehensive and contextual learning evaluations.

Abstract

Many prospective physics teachers struggle with innovative instructional strategies, as seen in their inability to answer examiners’ questions during thesis defences. This study focuses on the course Development of Physics Teaching Programs and aims to develop interactive multimedia based on the flipped classroom model using I-Spring Suite 10 to enhance students’ learning independence. The research was conducted in the Physics Department of Universitas Negeri Medan using the ADDIE model. The developed multimedia combines theoretical materials, interactive features, and classroom simulation videos to support an engaging learning experience. Expert validation showed that the product is appropriate for instructional use. After implementation, students demonstrated improved independence and confidence in applying teaching strategies. The effectiveness test using the N-Gain formula showed a medium level of improvement. These results indicate that the multimedia is reasonably effective in helping prospective physics teachers understand and apply instructional strategies in both theoretical and practical teaching contexts.

Abstract

Fluktuasi pasokan buah naga akibat ketergantungan pada musim merupakan tantangan utama bagi petani di Indonesia. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan produksi buah naga (Hylocereus polyrhizus) di Desa Simpang Empat, Sei Rampah, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, melalui penerapan teknik penerangan artifisial sederhana menggunakan lampu Light Emitting Diode (LED) sebagai pemicu pembungaan di luar musim puncak. Petani buah naga di wilayah ini menghadapi tantangan produktivitas rendah akibat keterbatasan frekuensi panen dan kurangnya pengetahuan akan teknologi induksi pembungaan. Melalui kegitatan sosialisasi, pelatihan, pemasangan instalasi, serta pendampingan intensif, tim PKM memperkenalkan dan melatih petani dalam penggunaan pencahayaan buatan berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) untuk merangsang pembungaan buah naga di luar musim alami. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan potensi signifikan dalam peningkatan frekuensi pembungaan dan jumlah buah yang dihasilkan per tanaman. Penerapan teknologi ini terbukti efektif dalam mengatasi kendala musiman dan meningkatkan kapasitas produksi buah naga secara berkelanjutan, berkontribusi pada peningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani.
