Abstract

Poverty is a challenge to development in various sectors characterized by deprivation, inability, and lack. People living in poverty often experience nutritional problems, poor health, high illiteracy rates, inappropriate environments, and limited access, both in rural and urban areas, such as in small poor villages or isolated seaside communities. This research is a quantitative study, which uses a statistical approach to test hypotheses. Specifically, this study analyzes the effect of Economic Growth, Human Development Index, and unemployment rate on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara. Statistical analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the help of Eviews10 software processing. The results show that: the Human Development Index (HDI) has a significant effect on poverty in East Nusa Tenggara Province, while Economic Growth and Unemployment have no significant effect on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex problem caused by many interrelated factors. So, this research will analyse the variables that influence poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District by analysing important problems that can influence poverty. This research aims to determine the profile and factors that influence poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District. The data collection technique uses primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires and direct interviews with poor and non-poor households in Kondamara Village, Lewa District. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses binary logistic regression analysis with a Likelihood Ratio approach. The research results show that the income of the head of the household and the number of family dependents have a significant influence on poverty in Kondamara Village, Lewa District.

Abstract

A country that is actively trying to improve the welfare of its population is Indonesia, which is still considered a backward country. The government has implemented various steps to achieve social welfare, although there are still several obstacles that have not been fully overcome, such as the issue of unemployment. Resolving this problem is a collective task that must be addressed effectively and continuously. This research aims to determine the influence of economic growth and regional minimum wages on the number of unemployed in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The research method uses quantitative methods with secondary data from publications from the Central Statistics Agency of East Nusa Tenggara Province. The data used is panel data, covering the 2018-2022 time series and cross-sections from 22 districts/cities. Based on the research results, economic growth has a positive and significant effect on the number of unemployed. and also, the regional minimum wage has a positive but insignificant effect on the number of unemployed.
