Abstract

Kiyai has a significant influence among the people despite aligning a dual role as a caretaker of boarding schools as well as a politician. This article examines K.H. Maimun Zubair, the caretaker of the Al Anwar Sarang islamic boarding school and also the Chairman of the Sharia Assembly of the United Development Party (PPP). Holds the highest authority and full authority in determining the direction of party policy as a moral guardian and able to minimize the dynamics of PPP conflicts. Mbah Moen's presence in the PPP still exerts influence in political contestation in 2019. This is evidenced by the PPP's ability to pass political turbulence and be able to pass the 2019 elections by passing the parliamentary threshold. With charisma that is still maintained and the firmness of kiyai in holding the teachings of Al-ghazali, namely religious and state affairs, they must be placed in their respective positions, with good and balanced cooperation, so as to minimize conflicts in political parties. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang problematika hafalan mahasiswa Ilmu al-Qur`an dan Tafsir. Pada regulasinya, STAI Al-Anwar mewajibkan mahasiswanya untuk menghafalkan al-Qur`an tiga juz dengan rincian juz 30, juz 1 dan juz 2. Para mahasiswa diberikan waktu satu tahun untuk menghafalkan satu juz al-Qur`an. Akan tetapi, target hafalan satu juz dalam satu tahun tersebut ternyata tidak semua mahasiswa putra menyanggupinya. Bahkan hanya sebagian kecil mahasiswa yang bisa mencapai target tersebut. Dari keseluruhan mahasiswa putra semester 5 program studi ilmu al-Qur`an dan Tafsir yang berjumlah 82 orang yang berasal dari 4 kelas, hanya 25 mahasiswa yang sudah tuntas hafalannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kombinasi (Mix Method) yang akan melakukan kuisioner sekaligus wawancara kepada 60 mahasiswa sebagai subyek penelitian untuk mengetahui masalah-masalah yang mereka hadapi dalam menghafal al-Qur`an. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat problem yang dialami mahasiswa dalam menghafal baik internal maupun eksternal. Faktor internal yang berpengaruh pada pencaiapaian target hafalan yaitu kurangnya motivasi dan manajemen waktu mahasiswa. Sementara faktor eksternal yang menjadi penyebab kesulitan mengahafal al-Qur`an meliputi kesibukan sebagai mahasiswa, tidak adanya tutor, metode yang kurang menarik, dan lingkungan kampus yang kurang mendukung. Sebagian besar faktor yang ditemukan tersebut tidak lepas dari status mahasiswa STAI Al-Anwar Sarang Rembang sendiri yang memiliki peran ganda sekaligus yaitu santri dan mahasiswa. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to elaborate on the developmentof the qur'ān's pentak wilan transformation from a literal (textual) approach to a contextual approach by the hermeneutic method initiated by the contemporary Muslim intellectuals of Shaḥrūr. The idea of Shaḥrūr can beused as a method of interpreting the Qur'ān in this era of globalization so that Muslims can continue to adapt to the times. This paper is written using a library research model, because the objects of study are things related to various literature literature. This research uses a philosophical-hermeneutical method that is included in the qualitative approach, which intends to understand phenomena about the object of study, with the method of description in the form of words and language (narrative). Shaḥrūr introduced a linguistic approach called al-manhaj al-tarīkhī. Initially, he combined the linguistic methods of Abū 'Alī al-Fārisī, Ibn Jinnī, and 'Abd al-Qadīr al-Jurjāni. But eventually Shaḥrūr concluded the absence of synonyms in Arabic and Shaḥrūr also made Mu'jam Maqāyis al-Lughah by Ibn Fāris, one of the adherents of the absence of synonymity, his mandatory reference. It was this absence of synonymity that later became one of the principles of the Shaḥrūr method of interpretation. In addition to the synonmatic denial in the hermentic method Shaḥrūr is identical about the theory of hudud or limit.

Abstract

The “Jo Kawin Bocah” (Javanese term for “No Child Marriage”) movement implemented by the Central Java Government over the past two years has significantly reduced the number of child marriages in Central Java province. This research aims to analyze the concept of “Jo Kawin Bocah” as a government-sponsored movement, identify the critical success factors, and explore the concept in terms maqāṣid al-sharī'ah (Sharia objectives). This field research uses a qualitative approach and deductive thinking, with data collected from interviews and documentation. The findings show that the social movement is feasible because stakeholders are aware of the negative impacts of early marriage. Another critical success factor is the involvement of community members and district/city leaders and collaboration between civil society organizations, the government, educational institutions, and other cross-sector organizations. Viewed from the maqāṣid al-sharī'ah side, the social movement “Jo Kawin Bocah” can realize the protection of the soul (ḥifẓ al-nafs), protection of the mind (ḥifẓ al-‘aql), protection of assets (ḥifẓ al-māl), and protection of offspring (ḥifẓ al-nasl). This research implies that increasing awareness about the negative consequences of early marriage is the key to the success of social movements.

Abstract

This study explores the transformation of formal education in pesantren following the enactment of Law Number 18 of 2019 on Pesantren, which formally integrates pesantren into Indonesia's national education system. As one of Indonesia's oldest educational institutions, pesantren faces significant challenges in aligning its traditional Islamic curriculum with national education standards despite a robust legal framework. This issue is critical since the limited recognition of pesantren diplomas hinders graduates' access to higher education and employment opportunities. However, with the right support and recognition, these graduates have the potential to significantly contribute to the future of Islamic education in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach with juridical analysis, this research examines the regulatory changes and their implementation in pesantren. The findings reveal that while pesantren have adopted formal education models such as the Mu'adalah curriculum, Pendidikan Diniyah Formal (PDF), and Ma'had Aly, the practical application of these models still faces challenges, particularly in aligning with regulatory standards. The government's immediate and robust support is crucial to address these challenges. It must enhance oversight, provide sustainable funding, and strengthen professional development for pesantren educators. This study underscores the need for inclusive policies that empower pesantren to preserve their Islamic traditions while improving the employability and competitiveness of their graduates. Additionally, it recommends that pesantren adopt adaptive strategies in curriculum design and human resource management. The findings highlight Pesantren's critical role in balancing Islamic educational heritage with modern educational demands, contributing significantly to Indonesia's national education development.

Abstract

The digital transformation of education in Indonesia has accelerated significantly, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. National initiatives like Merdeka Belajar have emphasized digital integration in teaching and learning, prompting scholarly interest in e-learning, online pedagogy, and technology-enhanced instruction. Despite this growing body of literature, there remains a lack of systematic analysis regarding how this research has evolved, which themes have dominated, and how collaboration networks have developed. This study aims to map the research landscape of digital education in Indonesia by conducting a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed journal articles published between January, 1, 2012 and May, 31, 2025. Using the Biblioshiny interface of the R-based Bibliometrix package, 1,131 articles were analyzed to examine publication trends, thematic patterns, prominent keywords, top contributing authors and institutions, and the evolution of co-authorship networks. The results show a notable increase in publication volume beginning in 2020, coinciding with the national shift to online learning. Key research themes include "e-learning", "online learning", and "blended learning", while emerging topics such as "digital literacy", "gamification", and "student engagement" reflect new pedagogical directions. Leading institutions include Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, with collaboration patterns showing modest but growing international engagement. This study offers a comprehensive overview of how digital transformation has been addressed in Indonesian educational research and provides insights into its future trajectory. The findings serve as a reference for researchers, educators, and policymakers in identifying research gaps and shaping strategic directions for digital education.

Abstract

The global trend towards halal products is considered one of the driving forces for the growing popularity of Halal products among the public. One of the aspects that consumers pay attention to in consuming halal products is whether the product has hedonic or utilitarian values. Some research on hedonic and utilitarian values had been previously conducted in the context of online buying behavior but did not focus on halal products. This study aims to investigate the impact of hedonic and utilitarian values on the consumption behavior of halal products. The study uses a questionnaire survey to collect data from 180 students in Magelang Regency. Structural Equation Model- Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis was performed to test the validity and hypothesis. The study shows that hedonic and utilitarian values significantly influence the consumption of halal products. The findings of this study indicate that halal products have more important hedonic benefits than utilitarian benefits in increasing consumption behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of social media usage intensity on the learning motivation of students in the Islamic Education Study Program. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. The research population consisted of 150 students, with a sample of 109 respondents determined using Slovin’s formula at a 5% margin of error. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling with the criterion of active students in at least their second semester. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring two main variables: social media usage intensity (frequency, duration, and purpose) as the independent variable, and learning motivation (attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction) as the dependent variable. Instrument validity was tested using Pearson’s product–moment correlation, while reliability was assessed with Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis was conducted through simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings reveal that social media usage intensity has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning motivation, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.192 or 19.2%. This indicates that social media contributes to enhancing learning motivation, although the majority of its variation (80.8%) is influenced by other factors beyond this study. These results support constructivist theory, the ARCS Motivation Model, and Self-Determination Theory, which emphasize the importance of interaction, relevance, and autonomy in fostering learning motivation. The findings are also consistent with previous studies confirming the pedagogical potential of social media in supporting learning, while simultaneously cautioning against its negative impacts when misused. Intensive and purposeful use of social media can serve as a supporting factor in enhancing students’ learning motivation, particularly in the Islamic Education Study Program, provided it is utilized wisely and integrated with other instructional strategies.
