Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan strategi dakwah budaya dalam konteks Indonesia. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research, mencermati fenomena dan berita aktual yang terjadi dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai literasi kemudian dianalisis dengan kajian sebelumnya dan model perkembangan peradaban manusia. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah strategi dakwah kultur hendaknya memahami sistem sosial masyarakat setempat, ide-ide dakwah sosial yang toleran dan memperhatikan kebiasaan, adat, dan budaya masyarakat setempat yang positif, agar pendakwah dapat menyesuaikan diri dan pesan yang disampaikannya dapat diterima secara umum oleh masyarakat. Kata kunci: Dakwah Kultural, Strategi, Indonesia. Abstract The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy of cultural da'wah in the Indonesian context. The approach used in this study uses the library research method, looking at phenomena and actual news that occurs by collecting data from various literacy and then analyzing it with previous studies and models of the development of human civilization. The results of this study are that the cultural da'wah strategy should understand the social system of the local community, the ideas of social da'wah that are tolerant and pay attention to the positive habits, customs and culture of the local community, so that the preacher can adapt and the message he conveys can be generally accepted by the community. Abstract

Abstrak: Masuk agama Islam di Lembak pada Abad 18, awal mulanya dengan kitab khatam rayab berada di Desa Karang Baru/Merantau, Kecamatan Padang Ulak Tanding, Kabupaten Rejang Lebong. Sejarah kitab khatam rayab dalam tradisi Lembak terdapat suatu pusaka warisan leluhur sebuah Al-Qur'an kuno yang oleh masyarakat dinamakan Khatam Rayab. Sebelum masuknya Islam di Lembak dan masyarakat Lembak memakai adat bekatak sekubang dan judi sabung ayam.  Al-Quran khatam rayab merupakan sebuah tradisi yang ada di Desa Karang Baru Provinsi Bengkulu. Al-Quran tersebut digunakan untuk keperluan pemecahan sebuah masalah sehingga seorang pencuri yang ingin meyakinkan bahwa dia bukan pencuri maka diadakannya sebuah sumpah menggunakan Al-Quran khatam rayab. Sebeleum melaksanakan sumpah maka pihak dari pemilik khatam melakukan sebuah ritual sedekah punjung kuning dan mengiris kemenyan. Dalam Islam praktek seperti ini merupakan perbuatan yang dilarang dan merupakan perbuatan syirik.

Abstract

Era digital merupakan zaman dimana pengguna media sosial dapat mengakses segala sesuatu dengan cepat, akses cepat ini disebut dengan virality, faktor ini memaksa para da'i menggunakan media sosial sebagai alat untuk menyampaikan dakwahnya sendiri, media tersebut terupdate dan dapat diakses serta efektif dibandingkan ke sarana propaganda lainnya. Aplikasi Tiktok atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Douysin, secara harfiah berasal dari Cina, dan diluncurkan pada bulan September 2016 oleh Zhang Yiming. Aplikasi Tiktok adalah platform video pendek yang dibuat dengan durasi sampai 10 menit yang berisi sosial dan didukung musik. Dengan memaksimalkan sarana komunikasi untuk berdakwah, lebih banyak orang akan menyebarkan pesan dakwah lebih cepat. Selain itu, pesan dakwah yang dikirim lebih cepat diterima. Selain karena banyak orang lebih memilih perangkat berteknologi tinggi seperti smartphone, yang membuat dakwah dengan media menjadi lebih menarik. Dapat dikatakan bahwa Tiktok merupakan alat dakwah yang efektif jika digunakan dengan benar sesuai syariat Islam. Secara keseluruhan, dakwah Tik Tok adalah dakwah milenial yang mampu menciptakan dakwah inovatif yang mampu menarik perhatian followers untuk dibagikan di media sosial.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems raised in Religious and Cultural Syncretism: The Tradition of the Oath Using the Al-Quran Khatam Rayab. Khatam Rayab is an ancient Koran found in Karang Baru Village, Padang Ulak Tanding District, which is used to solve problems that cannot be resolved amicably and legally. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of implementing the oath using the Koran Khatam Rayab. This research is a field research that uses qualitative descriptive methods, taking research topics or respondents using ethnographic methods. Ethnography is an approach used to understand how people in a community interact and are observed in everyday life. Ethnography is used to examine human behavior related to the development of communication technology in certain social and cultural settings. In this study, the researchers used an approach of observation, interviews, documentation, and data analysis techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing, which became the research of the owner of Khatam Rayab Mr. Hur, Joko's heir, people who had promised and the community. Based on the research results of Religious and Cultural Syncretism: Tradition of Oaths Using the Khatam Rayab Al-Quran, namely at the stage before the implementation of the oath, offerings and dowries are in the form of cash. The da'wah values contained in the tradition are: life values, discipline values, social values, cultural values and honesty values. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian Sinkretisme Agama dan Budaya: Tradisi Sumpah Menggunakan Al-Quran Khatam Rayab yaitu pada tahapan proses sebelum melaksanakan sumpah harus menggunakan sesaji dan mahar berupa uang tunai. Nilai-nilai dakwah yang terdapat dalam tradisi tersebut yaitu: nilai keimanan, nilai kedisiplinan, nilai sosial, nilai budaya dan nilai kejujuran.

Abstract

Durian Mas Village is an area located in the area of ​​the Central Kepungut Tribe Marga, Padang Ulak Tanding District (formerly the main sub-district), where in 1992 it was expanded to become the Padang City District. Patterns of intercultural communication in Durian Mas Village, Rejang Lebong Regency, are the subject of this research. There are two tribes in Durian Mas village, namely the Lembak tribe and the Javanese tribe. The purpose of this research is to study how people from different cultural backgrounds communicate in the village of Durian Mas. This research is a qualitative descriptive field research with the aim of accurately establishing systematic qualitative descriptive facts and the characteristics of certain regional groups. This research data collection methods include interviews, observation, and documentation. The result of the research is that from the results of this study it was found that people who used to use oral communication from the local language, the language was interpreted and used in a group environment and was considered a common language. While the nonverbal communication used in the communication activities of the Lembak and Javanese people in Durian Mas Village are body language, appearance and clothing. Nonverbal language is used to support the meaning of information in society using nonverbal language to strengthen and complement language so that it can communicate effectively. Supporting factors in this intercultural communication process are the ability to communicate, mutual trust, friendly and polite attitude, interest in communicating, and adaptability.

Abstract

The ability to hold oneself as an expression of this attitude of tolerance brings understanding and tolerance for differences of opinion. Dissent is normal and cannot be prohibited or suppressed. Only if all parties understand that this argument must be managed wisely in accordance with the noble values ​​of their religious beliefs, culture and traditions. The development and renewal of pluralistic theology in society is an important part of the world order which is shaped by ethnic, cultural and religious pluralism. Basically we are all brothers. Islam prohibits tolerance through the Qur'an and its hadiths. Indonesia is already known as a country that has a variety of diversity. The Qur'an's call for tolerance requires complexity and a willingness to accept all kinds of differences, including ethnicity, skin color, language, customs, culture, and religion. The Qur'an also states that the creation of the heavens and the earth, day and night, male and female is the decree of the Creator as a decree. Tolerance in Islam must always be maintained in accordance with Islamic law. Non-compliance with Sharia values ​​while maintaining tolerance has led to a shift in values ​​from tolerance that is justified within the boundaries of Islam to syncretization of religions with the principle of "all religions". All religions are the same.” This principle denies the absoluteness of religious teachings that truth only exists in Islam.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented in response to the high usage of social media among students, particularly Instagram, which often becomes a platform for cyberbullying. This phenomenon becomes increasingly complex when students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Comments or posts considered normal in one culture may be perceived as offensive in another. A lack of cultural sensitivity often triggers digital conflict and bullying, which can negatively impact students' mental health. This PKM aims to improve students’ understanding of the dangers of cyberbullying and the importance of cross-cultural communication ethics. The program began with a pre-test to assess participants' initial knowledge, followed by an interactive seminar discussing the concepts of cyberbullying, digital ethics, and real-life case studies. Students then engaged in group discussions and simulations, where they analyzed problematic digital content and formulated empathetic, constructive responses. At the end of the activity, a post-test was conducted to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ awareness and attitudes. This program successfully encouraged students to be more thoughtful and responsible in their online interactions and to become change agents in creating a safer, more inclusive digital environment. The outcomes of this program include a scholarly publication, an educational video disseminated on social media, and quantitative data showing an increase in participants’ knowledge. Overall, this initiative contributes to strengthening multicultural digital literacy among today’s youth.

Abstract

This study examines the framing of the Nangguak Tebat tradition by five Indonesian online media (Kompas.com, Detik.com, Bisik.id, Narasiberita.co.id, Jejakdaerah.id) in May 2025. Using qualitative content analysis with Entman's Framing theory, Stuart Hall's Representation theory, and CuDA, this study reveals how the media collectively represent this tradition positively, highlighting local wisdom, social, and ecological values. Nevertheless, each media outlet demonstrates different framing emphases, ranging from aspects of solidarity, indigenous identity, environmental sustainability, tourism potential, to food security. These findings underscore the significant role of media in constructing public understanding of local culture and the importance of fair and empowering representation.

Abstract

This study investigates stereotypes and prejudices that exist among the Lembak and Javanese communities in Durian Mas Village, Rejang Lebong, using a qualitative approach. This research focuses on a deep understanding of how the peoples of these two tribes describe and perceive each other. This research method involves in-depth interviews with members of the Lembak and Javanese communities, as well as participatory observations to understand the social and cultural context in Durian Mas Village. The results of the study revealed various stereotypes spread in society. Stereotypes held by the Lembak people towards the Javanese include their image as quiet, gullible, firm, not straightforward, gentle, cunning, calm, possessing tribalism, forgiving, harboring feelings, being laundering, and hesitant. Conversely, stereotypes shared by Javanese people towards the Lembak Tribe include their views as responsible, lazy, strong religious, unwilling to take risks, polite, sarcastic, friendly, talkative, confident, unwilling to compete, highly motivated, unwilling to do much, and often envious of successful people. [Penelitian ini menginvestigasi stereotip dan prasangka yang ada di antara masyarakat Suku Lembak dan Suku Jawa di Desa Durian Mas, Rejang Lebong, menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pemahaman mendalam tentang bagaimana masyarakat kedua suku ini saling menggambarkan dan mempersepsikan satu sama lain. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan anggota masyarakat Suku Lembak dan Suku Jawa, serta observasi partisipatif untuk memahami konteks sosial dan budaya di Desa Durian Mas. Hasil penelitian mengungkap berbagai stereotip yang tersebar di masyarakat. Stereotip yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Suku Lembak terhadap Suku Jawa mencakup gambaran mereka sebagai pendiam, gampang ditipu, tegas, tidak terus terang, lembut, licik, tenang, memiliki sikap sukuisme, pemaaf, menyimpan perasaan, pengalah, dan sungkan. Sebaliknya, stereotip yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat Suku Jawa terhadap Suku Lembak mencakup pandangan mereka sebagai bertanggung jawab, pemalas, kuat beragama, tidak mau ambil risiko, santun, suka menyindir, ramah, banyak bicara, percaya diri, tidak mau bersaing, memiliki motivasi tinggi, tidak mau berbuat banyak, dan seringkali iri kepada orang yang sukses].

Abstract

Intercultural communication has become increasingly important in the era of internationalization, marked by the high intensity of cross-cultural interactions. This article examines adaptation strategies in intercultural communication through a literature review approach, highlighting key theories such as Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT), Cultural Adaptation Model, and Uncertainty Reduction Theory (URT). The findings of this literature review emphasize that successful adaptation in intercultural contexts requires the development of cultural awareness, comprehensive communication skills (verbal, vocal, and nonverbal), and cultural empathy, which serve as coping mechanisms and facilitators of interaction. URT provides a strategic framework through passive, active, and interactive approaches to reduce uncertainty in intercultural relationships. Furthermore, the concept of intercultural competence proposed by Slocum and Hellriegel underscores the importance of integrating intellectual capacity, personal character, and practical skills. This article makes a theoretical contribution by synthesizing various perspectives on intercultural adaptation and offering practical implications for multicultural education and relationship management in plural societies, without proposing a new empirical model but instead reinforcing existing conceptual frameworks.
