Abstract

Project Approach and Critical Dialogue to Improve Students' Writing Skills Writing material in Indonesian language learning is the most difficult learning for students to master. One of the difficult aspects of writing is writing fantasy stories. Fantasy stories are a new type of story and have few examples in Indonesia. Fantasy stories also have similarities with fables, legends, and short stories, so learning fantasy stories requires special learning readiness and foresight in understanding various types of stories. Project Based Learning, according to assumptions from various sources, is a learning model designed for students to be able to think creatively in writing skills, while Deep Dialogue / Critical Thinking (DD / CT) or critical dialog is a reasoning learning model for students to be able to think critically. Critical dialog in several studies also proved this model can improve students' writing skills. However, in its implementation, both models have their own weaknesses and advantages that complement each other. The implementation and combination of the two models will make an innovation of the latest learning model, namely project-based learning and critical dialog, which in its learning combines the two advantages of the PjBL model and critical dialog.
