Abstract

Patchouli oil refining business in Garuda Village, Padangguni District, Konawe Regency is under the responsibility of the Village Owned Enterprise (BUMDES). The purpose of this research is to see the income and financial feasibility of the patchouli oil refining business carried out in Garuda Village, Padangguni District, Konawe Regency. The research method is a case study approach to the management unit of the Patchouli oil refining business belonging to BUMDES. Descriptive quantitative data analysis to answer the problems of income and financial feasibility of patchouli oil refining business. The results of this study indicate that the net income or profit value of patchouli oil refining business is Rp. 26,634,867 per year. Meanwhile, the results of the financial analysis show that BEP revenues are greater than real revenues with a "payback period" of six years and three months in return for investment in the patchouli oil refining business.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to describe the participation of farmer group members in the preparation of an extension program on tomato farming in Wowasolo Village, Wongeduku District, Konawe Regency. The research method is to determine the population and sample in one of the farmer groups that cultivate tomatoes. The number of samples that were set was 30 people from all members of the vegetable farmer group, which were selected by random sampling. Analysis of the data used is Likert Scale analysis. The results of the research obtained in the field regarding the participation of farmer group members in the extension program are that there are four stages of farmer group participation in the extension program, namely: first; the planning stage obtained an average value of 2.47 with the category of High (T), second; the implementation stage the average value is 4.39 with the category of High (T), third; the utilization stage has an average value of 2.23 with high (T) and fourth categories; evaluation stage the average value is 3.19 with the High category (T). The dominant participation factor is influenced by the willingness, the opportunity and the desire to add experience in tomato farming. Low farmer education and community habits with conventional farming systems are limiting factors for participation in agricultural extension programs.

Abstract

The performance of agricultural extension workers is the level of work success achieved by agricultural extension workers which is an important aspect that plays a role in work success and goal achievement. Performance is measured based on the abilities possessed by an individual in the form of cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The numbers of agricultural extension workers in the Sampara subdistrict under the supervision of the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) of Sampara District are 17 agricultural extension workers. The condition of agricultural extension workers in the Agricultural Extension Center varies in ages, education level and working experiences. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of performance of field agricultural extension workers (PPL) and to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of extension workers and the performance of field agricultural extension workers (PPL) in Sampara Sub district, Konawe Regency. The study employed scoring method using likert scale meanwhile measurement correlation between the characteristics of extension workers and the performance of Agricultural Extension workers through non-parametric analysis of Spearman's rank correlation test. The results of the study showed that the performance of field agricultural extension officers was in a fairly good category while the education level factors had a significant or strong relationship as shown by the Rs coefficient with value of 0.721.

Abstract

Abstract. Pepper farming has an important and strategic role in increasing the income of the pepper plantation community in East Kolaka Regency, however, smallholder pepper plantations are still characterized by various weaknesses such as relatively narrow farming land, conventionally cultivated with low productivity and quality, and a weak position in product marketing. This study aims to examine the financial feasibility and sensitivity of pepper farming in East Kolaka District, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The designated research location is Tirawuta District as a pepper production center in the pepper plantation community in East Kolaka Regency. Sampling was carried out purposively based on the age of the plants, ie 1 to 17 years old. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis method using a feasibility analysis through the Benefit-Cost approach in PAM and sensitivity analysis. The results showed that financially, the pepper farming of plantation communities in East Kolaka Regency was feasible and profitable as evidenced by a B/C value of 1.10 and an NPV value of IDR 48,429,250.00.-. The results of the sensitivity analysis with the scenario if inorganic fertilizers are not subsidized by the government show a decrease in farmers' profits by 17,4 %, but smallholder pepper farming is still feasible to cultivate
