Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to obtain information about the development and implementation of Islamic religious education curricula in inclusive schools or madrasas. An inclusive school or madrasah is an educational institution that provides opportunities for all students, including students with special needs, to study together with the help of accompanying teachers. Design/methods/approach – This study used a systematic literature review of accredited articles from 2018-2023, data collected from Google Scholar, the Science and Technology Index of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, and Scopus. Descriptive analysis techniques were used as data analysis techniques. The researcher obtained 120 articles, which further extracted and coded them using the NVivo application, and then found 25 articles that met the TAPUPAS criteria and were relevant to the research question. Findings – Based on the results of the analysis and literature review, some conclusions have been drawn. First, developing an inclusive Islamic religious education curriculum in schools or madrasas has been adjusted to the character of students with special needs and the simplification of subject matter. Meanwhile, the obstacle for Islamic teachers in developing the curriculum is the lack of knowledge to identify students with special needs and limited learning resources and media about it. Second, the implementation is in the form of the application of individual approaches, varied models and methods that have an impact on the effectiveness of learning, and visual media and assessment techniques based on basic abilities for students with special needs in inclusive schools or madrasas. Research implications/limitations – The results of this study still have limitations in the number of articles analyzed and reviewed, especially those published in Sinta 1 accredited journals. Originality/value – This study can be used as a reference for future research, which is expected to provide a more comprehensive study so that the research findings can be improved or perfect.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a descriptive overview of the results of the analysis regarding the suitability of inclusive education curriculum and to evaluate the impact on MI Al-Ma'arif 02 Jombang Jember and SD Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyah Jember based on the CIPP model, as well as a comparison between these two institutions. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a multicase study method. Informant selection was done using a purposive technique. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which involves data condensation, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The study results show that these two elementary educational institutions have similarities and differences related to the suitability of the inclusive education curriculum that the institutions have implemented based on the program evaluation model, namely the CIPP model. Similarities are found in the context and product aspects. Meanwhile, differences can be found in the input aspect because the madrasah still needs accompanying teachers and inadequate infrastructure. Then in the process aspect, it was found that elementary schools implement more diverse learning models based on the abilities and characteristics of students with special needs. It should be noted that this research is limited to aspects of the inclusive education curriculum at the basic education level. The findings of this research method provide originality in the form of the CIPP model which can be used as a case study analysis approach. Scientifically, by evaluating the educational curriculum, these findings provide a lot of input for improving education in the future, especially in inclusive education.

Abstract

The present study aims to describe the process of development, quality, assessment, and students’ learning behavior toward Powtoon-mediated interactive multimedia for the Qur’an and Hadith. Grounded in R&D (Research and Development), data were garnered through validation, questionnaire, as well as observation. The collected data then were analyzed by using content analysis and descriptive analysis. Study findings expose that first, the stages of interactive multimedia design included identifying the potential and problems of learning the Qur’an and Hadith, collecting the lesson material of the Qur’an and Hadith for seventh graders of junior secondary school, designing products based on learning objectives, having the design validated by experts, revising the design on expert recommendations, managing a product trial on a small group, revising products, and carrying out a product trial on a large group. Second, the first assessment of the teaching media expert was considered good (82%), and the second one was considered very good (92%). Meanwhile, the first assessment of the teaching material expert was considered good enough (70%), and the second one was considered very good (90%). Lastly, the assessment of both small and large group was considered good. The study contributes to novel practical insights on the design of Powtoon-featured interactive multimedia as an endeavor to foster the students’ learning behavior in the material. This study also demonstrates that the student learning behavior was leveraged, particularly in the aspects of attitudes, habits, as well as learning interest.
