Abstract

Peraturan pemerintah daerah mengijinkan penambangan timah dilakukan oleh masyarakat umum di darat maupun di laut. Penambangan timah di laut memerlukan kapal isap timah yang sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan, murah dan aman. Kapal isap timah pertama yang dibuat masih dalam tahap uji coba yang telah dibuat dengan rancangan sederhana yang terdiri dari dua buah silinder lambung kapal (model katamaran/catamaran). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperbaiki kekurangan unjuk kerja stabilitas dengan cara mengubah dimensi lambung tanpa mengubah lebar kapal dan menempatkan peralatan kapal isap timah untuk mendapatkan letak titik pusat massa dan letak titik pusat apung yang baik. Letak titik pusat massa didapatkan dengan cara menghitung optimasi berat minimum ponton dan software maxsurf digunakan untuk menghitung stabilitas arah melintang dan stabilitas arah memanjang kapal. Upaya peningkatan stabilitas dengan cara optimasi penempatan posisi bagian kapal isap timah pada arah melintang dan memanjang serta optimasi diameter dan tebal ponton kapal isap timah dapat meningkatkan stabilitas kapal dan memenuhi standar karakteristik IMO.kata kunci: model katamaran, stabilitas IMO, optimasi.

Abstract

Centrifugal Oil Cleaner (COC) is a device that works using the principle of a rotating sedimentation. COC puts the object in the fix axis rotation by using the centrifugal force on gravity. COC is one of part in Diesel ALLAN 2 at PLTD Merawang. In the mantenace, parts of the rotor bodyat the COC should be cleaned by turn down the rotor nut cover of the rotor body. To simplify the process of opening a COC, it needs to be designed fixture to assist in turn down the nut so it will more efficient in time, minimize the equipment compared to manually process. The fixture is designed using Pahl-Beitz method and the manufacturing is processed using machine that is available on workshop. Manually process produces is faster 2 second than using the fixture. However, the fixture reduces using of equipment and involves only one operator so that operator safety is guaranteed.Key Word : COC, centrifugal, Fixture

Abstract

Pulsator is one tool driving jig used PT. Timah Tbk in the process of separation of tin ores and minerals Downstream based differences in specific gravity (SG). Damage that occurs in the pulsator especially in the legs, can be caused by high vibration caused jig continuously during operation so as to make the bolt fastener will eventually become worn. Process improvements made PT. Timah (Persero) Tbk to damage pulsator foot is by means of welding, the connecting leg pulsator damaged (broken) with cast or plate material. Given the importance of the pulsator for tin ore separation process, we conducted a study of the results of the pulsator legs welded using electrodes AWS A5.15 cin-1, cin-cin-2 and 3 used PT. Timah (Persero) Tbk. The aim of this study is to find the right electrode is used for welding process that results weld toe pulsator can provide optimum strength welded construction. The research method is by way of experiment by comparing the electrode cin-1, cin-2 and cin-3 brand Nikko Steel against the welding process using the foot pulsator pulsator and plate material as the connection. After welding is done then analyze the results of the pulsator weld toe with the review of test results toughness, hardness and microstructure of welds. The test results obtained material cin-3 has a value of hardness and toughness that is higher than the material cin-1 and cin-2, with a value of 109 HRB hardness and toughness value of 6.53 joules/mm². The high hardness and toughtness of cin-3 compared with cin1 and cin-2 when showed from the microstructure of the material is cin-3 contained a very hard.Key words : Pulsator, cast iron, welding, Elektrode AWS A5.15
