Abstract

Malang is one of the areas that have a high diversity of reptiles and amphibians because of the strategic ecosystem but still minimal in terms of research publications. The purpose of this study was to know the diversity of reptiles and amphibian through the existence of herpetofauna species, microhabitat and indicator species. Data was collected during the rainy season, once a month in the period of three months from October 2017 to January 2018 at night. Data collection was conducted using the Virtual Encounter Survey method with different zones and limited by time. The collected specimens were identified with the guidance of literatures. The collected specimens were then preserved at the Animal Physiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Then, the data was analyzed to obtain the diversity index, frequency and dominance. The result showed that the number of reptiles found in the location site was seven species consisting of Famili Gekkonidae, Scincidae, Agamidae and Elapidae. Mean while for the species of amphibians, it was obtained nine species consisting of Famili Bufonidae, Ranidae, Rhacophoridae, Dicroglossidae, and Microhylidae. The ecosystem consisted of four habitat types including terrestrial, arboreal, semi-aquatic and aquatic. However, based on the value of diversity index, relative frequency, and dominance value, as well as the indicator species, this area has a relatively low diversity, the disturbed environment and therefore conservation efforts need to be undertaken.

Abstract

Grasshopper is one type of insect known as a plant pest that quite affects agricultural production. Grasshoppers also have benefits as natural predators and maintain ecological balance. One area where no research has been carried out on grasshopper diversity is Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This research was conducted at 4 locations in Dompu, including corn, ex-corn, intercropping, and Doroncanga agricultural land, by making four transects at each location. Grasshoppers were collected using the insect net, and hand collecting was carried out at 07.00 and 16.00 WITA. The environmental factors that were calculated were air temperature, light intensity, wind speed, and air humidity, while the biotic factors observed were plant vegetation at each location and predators. Data analysis was performed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, and Margalef index. The results of this study indicate that Dompu Regency has the potential for diversity of grasshoppers with moderate criteria where the diversity of grasshoppers is strongly influenced by plant vegetation and human treatment on agricultural land.

Abstract

Belalang menjadi salah satu serangga yang dikenal sebagai hama pada bidang pertanian karena dapat mengalami outbreak atau pembludakan reproduksi sehingga menjadi pelaku kerusakan tanaman. Namun peranan lainnya sering dilupakan seperti misalnya sebagai predator, maupun decomposer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Untuk menganalisis diversitas komunitas belalang pada berbagai macam lahan di Kabupaten Dompu, untuk membandingkan struktur komunitas belalang berbagai macam lahan di Kabupaten Dompu dan untuk menganalisis hubungan struktur komunitas dengan faktor lingkungan. Metode penelitian terdiri atas pengukuran faktor-faktor abiotik (suhu, intensitas cahaya, kecepatan angin dan kelembaban), pengamatan diversitas belalang dengan metode Visual Encounter Survey, Hand Picking, dan Sweeping net, dilanjut dengan analisis vegetasi.Data diversitas, dianalisis yang terdiri atas indeks diversitas Shanon Wiener, indeks kemerataan, indeks kekayaan dan indeks dominansi. Korelasi factor abiotik dengan kelimpahan belalang dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Pearson menggunakan SPSS, dan analisis CCA menggunakan program PAST. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat diterbitkan pada jurnal nasional terkareditasi dengan TKT 3. Hasil analisis peneltian yang didapatkan, indeks diversitas belalang beberapa lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Dompu dalam kategori menengah, dengan diversitas tertinggi terdapat pada Lahan Bekas Jagung (2,76) dan terendah di Padang Savanah(2,24). Hasil analisis korelasi bahwa Temperatur udara memiliki korelasi positif terhadap nilai keragaman dan nilai kekayaan belalang, dan berkorelasi negatif terhadap nilai dominansi.

Abstract

Gulma merupakan tumbuhan yang tidak dikendaki keberadaannya karena menyebabkan persaingan penyerapan unsur hara, air, dan tempat tumbuh antara gulma dan tanaman budidaya. Gulma lebih sering dimusnakan daripada dimanfaatkan. Informasi pemanfaatn gulma perlu dilakukan untuk menentukan teknik pengendaliannya. Review ini berisi tentang pemanfaatan beberapa jenis gulma seperti pemanfaat gulma sebagai pupuk organik kompos, pupuk organik cair, pestisida nabati, pewarna pakaian, adsorben logam berat dan lainnya.
