This condition is often worsened by the loss of a spouse, limited daily activities, and reduced meaningful social interactions. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Brief Behavioral Activation for Improving Social Connectedness (BBAISC) in reducing loneliness and enhancing social connectedness. A pre-experimental Single Case Experimental Design (pretest–posttest) was used with a 60 year old woman who experienced loneliness after losing her spouse and had limited social support. The participant was selected purposively. Data were collected through participant interviews, interviews with a community health volunteer, behavioral observation, the UCLA Loneliness Scale, the 16 Personality Factors (16PF) Test, and graphic tests (DAP and BAUM). The intervention consisted of six weekly individual sessions, including guided discussions, identification of personal values, activity monitoring and scheduling, gradual social activation, strengthening social support, and evaluation of behavioral changes. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test due to non-normal distribution. Results showed a significant reduction in loneliness from pretest to posttest (Z = −2.830; p = 0.005). This study concludes that BBAISC is an effective and practical psychosocial intervention for reducing loneliness and improving social connectedness among older adults.

Abstract

Work engagement may be defined as a positive mental state indicating complete involvement in one's professional activities. The objective of this study is to ascertain the relationship between resilience and burnout, on the one hand, and work engagement, on the other, among employees in the head office of a mining services company specialising in furnace, kiln, and demolition services. The present study employed a quantitative approach, utilising a correlational design. A total of 50 students participated in the study by means of a technique known as "sample saturation". The data were collected using three psychological measurement tools and subsequently analysed with multiple linear regression. The findings of the present study demonstrate a substantial and direct relationship between resiliensi and burnout, both of which are concepts that are concurrently associated with work engagement. The relationship between resilience and work engagement is positive, while the relationship between burnout and work engagement is negative. The present study hypothesises that levels of work engagement are elevated in instances of resiliensi and diminished in instances of burnout. Keywords: Burnout; Employee; Resilience; Work Engagement.Work engagement adalah kondisi mental positif yang menunjukkan keterlibatan karyawan secara penuh dalam pekerjaan. Abstract

Job hopping is a phenomenon of frequent job changes that has become increasingly prevalent among Generation Z, who are young workers. Generation Z tends to switch jobs in order to meet their expectations related to satisfaction and work-life balance. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and work-life balance with job hopping behavior among Generation Z. The subjects of this study were Generation Z employees currently working at PT. X Surabaya, with a population size of 130 individuals. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with the random sampling method, resulting in a sample of 108 respondents. Multiple regression analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. The results of the analysis show that job satisfaction and work-life balance have a simultaneous and significant relationship with job hopping. Both job satisfaction and work-life balance were found to have a negative association with job hopping, with job satisfaction having a stronger influence compared to work-life balance.
