Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of hypnotherapy in reducing insomnia scores in final year students. This study uses a quasi-experimental single design method and one group pretest experimental design, posttest design, namely the research design used to influence an effect (intervention) in a single case. The methods that used data collection are in the form of observation, unstructured interviews, and measurements through the Pittsburgh Rating Insomnia Scale. The collection of assessment data refers to the author. These results indicate that there is a difference in the level of insomnia between before and after a visual hypnotherapy intervention. From the existing insomnia rate scores, the results show a decrease in the pre, post, and follow-up scores on the insomnia rates seen by the subjects.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Effective interpersonal communication is crucial for college students to build harmonious social relationships in an academic environment. However, pressures and interaction barriers often arise, necessitating adaptive strategies such as a sense of humor to overcome them. This study examines the relationship between sense of humor and interpersonal communication among college students in Palembang. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the study involved 102 active students (aged 18-23) selected via Purposive Sampling. Data analysis was performed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between the two variables with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05$) and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.445. These findings indicate that higher sense of humor correlates with better interpersonal communication skills, where humor effectively functions to create a supportive interaction climate.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the communication strategies of couples in long-distance relationships (LDRs) who use WhatsApp as their primary digital communication medium. This topic was chosen because the rapid development of digital technology influences the dynamics of romantic relationships, particularly among the younger generation, many of whom are in LDRs and rely on bold communication to maintain emotional intimacy. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with three university students who had been in LDRs for at least six months. The results showed that LDR couples employed various communication strategies, such as maintaining communication routines, maintaining emotional balance, coordinating clear messages, reminding people about time, and prioritizing communication to maintain intimacy and reduce conflict. WhatsApp plays a significant role with its voice messaging, video calling, and emoji features, which mediate emotional sensitivity and support relationship maintenance. This study confirms that planned and adaptive digital communication is a key factor in the success of long-distance relationships, while also contributing to the development of communication psychology and technology studies in the context of modern interpersonal relationships
