Abstract

Attachment patterns are psychological factors formed since childhood and influence the way individuals communicate, especially in stressful situations such as interpersonal conflicts. This study aims to examine the influence of attachment patterns on the tendency to use ambiguous language in interpersonal conflicts among students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program at Wijaya Kusuma University, Surabaya. A descriptive quantitative approach was used involving 39 active students in semesters 1 to 7 as samples obtained through the Slovin formula. The research instrument used a Likert scale (1–5) consisting of an attachment pattern scale (ECR-R, 13 valid items) and an ambiguous language scale (8 valid items). Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS version 22. The results showed a t-value of 4.810 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05 and R Square = 0.385, which means that attachment patterns have a significant effect on the use of ambiguous language by 38.5%. Students with insecure attachments (anxious and avoidant) are more likely to use ambiguous language as an emotion regulation strategy in conflict. These findings extend psycholinguistic research by integrating the psychological dimensions of attachment into the analysis of language behavior.

Abstract

This study examined how Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications influence the development of critical thinking and creativity within the Pancasila Student Profile framework in Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test control design, the research involved 64 eleventh-grade students in a six-week project-based learning unit on environmental issues. The experimental group employed various AI tools, while the control group relied on conventional approaches. Students’ cognitive progress was assessed through validated essay tests and project rubrics. The results showed that AI integration led to substantially greater improvements in both critical thinking and creativity. Students in the AI-assisted group achieved significantly higher gains in critical thinking (5.63 vs. 2.18) and creativity (4.56 vs. 1.62), with large effect sizes indicating strong practical significance. These outcomes suggest that AI can function as a powerful cognitive amplifier, promoting deeper analytical thinking and more flexible idea generation. However, although AI enhanced cognitive aspects of the Pancasila Student Profile, it did not inherently support moral or social dimensions. Thus, future studies should investigate how AI can be combined with value-oriented and collaborative learning strategies to foster holistic development. Overall, the findings highlight the importance of adopting AI in balanced ways that advance higher-order thinking while upholding human-centered educational values.

Abstract

Promoting Teacher Professionalism through Character Building and Technology Integration. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the role of character education and technology incorporation at Teacher Education and Training Institutes in producing professional teachers as envisaged by the Teacher and Lecturer Law. Method: The type of research used in this study is the literature review. This entails gathering data from journals, research papers, government reports, and education policies. Findings: This study discovered that character education at Teacher Education and Training Institutes assists in the formation of professional teachers through the acquisition of appropriate attitudes and values. Some of these are relationships with self, the law, professional associations, students, peers, and supervisors. Some of the values include faith, openness, honesty, lifelong learning, enthusiasm, unity, togetherness, discipline, and responsibility that are useful for future teachers. Including the technology integration in the training assists in enhancing these professional values and skills. Conclusion: The programs of character education and integrating information and communication technology at Teacher Education and Training Institutes are useful in producing professional teachers with content and character. This assists in producing teachers who are able to impart positive values in the learners such as love for God, parents, fellow human beings, and country. Keywords: character building, professionalism, demoralization.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i2.202463
