Abstract

This research was aimed to calculate the economic performance of the Bawis fish chip processing business at UMKM Saputra Snack based on a feasibility analysis which includes; Revenue Cost Ratio (RCR), Break Event Points (Sales, Production, and Prices), Payback Period, and Return On Investment (ROI). This research was conducted in September 2020. Primary data was obtained through observation and interviews which were guided by a list of questions made according to the research objectives. Sample determination referred to the conditional/objective sampling method. The results show that the value of RCR is 3.55, the break-even point of sales is Rp. 1,259,607 per month, which is lesser than its actual sales of Rp. 18,000,000 per month; the breakeven point of production is 63 packs per month, which is lesser than the actual production of 900 packs per month; the breakeven price is Rp. 1,400 per pack which is lesser than the actual price of Rp. 20,000 per pack; the payback period is 1.41 months (0.12 years) and the result of ROI analysis shows a value of 71.10%. The results of the analysis of the overall economic performance show that the Bawis fish chip processing business at UMKM Saputra Snack is profitable and feasible to continue. Abstract

Marketing of fishery business products is technically a little different from non-fisheries, this is because the marketing flow time from producer to consumer must be shorter, this is done in order to maintain freshness and optimal protein content in the fish. Therefore, efforts are needed to provide technical guidance for business marketing management. Lack of knowledge of the importance of groups is an obstacle in providing assistance to fishermen. so it is necessary to provide ongoing assistance by related agencies and academics to change the mindset and fate of fishermen towards a better standard of living. Extension activities were carried out on Saturday, May 11 2024 in Pela Village, Kota Bangun District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The approach method used is mapping potential locations, counseling, training and assistance with business marketing management. The result of community service is that fishing communities can understand the importance of joining or forming groups to achieve the same goals, and fishermen understand the importance of marketing management in an effort to increase income and economic welfare.

Abstract

Design a multifunction tool that includes a clothes folder and freshener. Additional features of this design are clothing sterilization with UV lamps and automatic calculations. This design aims to smooth and increase efficiency in the clothing care process. This tool is designed to provide a comprehensive solution for caring for everyday clothes quickly and effectively. This tool combines several main functions: first, an automatic folder that uses a mechanical system and sensors to precisely fold clothes of various types and sizes. Second, a fragrance feature that sprays a fresh aroma onto clothes after being folded, increasing freshness and comfort when used. Third, the sterilization system uses UV lights to kill germs and microorganisms that may be on clothes, maintaining user cleanliness and health. Finally, the automatic calculation feature controls the number of clothes processed and provides reports automatically to users. The tool is equipped with a smart user interface, allowing users to easily manage and monitor the clothing care process. With this multifunctional tool, it is hoped that it can reduce the time and energy needed to care for clothes and increase comfort and cleanliness for users. The results obtained are that design tools can provide tidiness, cleanliness and protect against bacteria. The range of folding clothes using the tool is 5 minutes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the social and economic characteristics of fishing households in Muara Telake Village and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting fishermen. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method with a descriptive analysis approach and purposive sampling technique, involving 24 respondents. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques to illustrate the overall social and economic conditions of the fishermen. The results indicate that the social condition of fishermen falls into the “moderate” category, with an average percentage of 67.29%, covering indicators such as education, age, number of dependents, and health. Meanwhile, the economic condition is also categorized as “moderate,” with an average percentage of 53.70%, encompassing income, expenditure, housing conditions, and asset ownership. Supporting factors include good health, government assistance, family support, and the fishermen’s experience. Conversely, inhibiting factors include low education levels, unpredictable environmental conditions, limited capital, fluctuating fuel prices, and restricted market access, which affect productivity and the welfare of fishing households. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to enhance both social and economic well-being.

Abstract

Usaha Kecil Mikro dan Menengah (UMKM) menunjukkan fenomena yang relatif berkembang pada kondisi ekonomi yang kurang stabil. Keberadaan UMKM perlu didorong dan dipantau secara seksama. Satu di antara UMKM yang relatif berkembang di Desa Saliki adalah usaha pengolahan hasil perikanan, seperti amplang dan kerupuk ikan. Kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan pada pelaku UMKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk. Dengan pemberian label yang sesuai SNI, diharapkan mampu meningkatkan minat konsumen dan produk lebih dipercaya. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan tanggapan yang positif dari peserta, karena masih belum sepenuhnya memahami hal apa saja yang perlu ditampilkan pada label. Melalui kegiatan pelatihan, pelaku UMKM telah mampu memperbaiki desain produk (label) menjadi lebih baik dan sesuai SNI.
