Abstract

Most educational institutions currently use a web-based virtual teaching system using platforms such as e-learning and carry out learning activities using a virtual laboratory system for practicum of several subjects or courses. Web-based teaching is a possible and economical solution to this problem. The web-based program will automatically correct students' answers to quizzes, and lecturers can obtain and monitor student feedback in real time without delay. The aim of the current design is to provide a more engaging and interactive environment for students to learn. To find out how this virtual systems approach might affect student learning and to get their views on this new teaching approach, the lecturer randomly selected 8 students from this group of 80 students and interviewed them using open-ended questions. According to the results of the questionnaire, most of the students showed positive attitudes towards the virtual system and found that the system encouraged and motivated them to learn better. Most students are interested in learning through virtual teaching (VT; 89%) and experimenting through virtual laboratories (VL; 88%). In accordance with this explanation, learning through web-based virtual teaching and virtual laboratory systems is very flexible to use. Keywords : Flexibility, Virtual Teaching, Web-Based, Virtual Laboratory System.

Abstract

In 2019, the European Commission established an ambitious policy initiative regarding environmental change issues called the European Green Deal. The aim of this policy is to achieve zero emissions by 2050 and make Europe as the first climate neutral continent by that year. All member states had to adopt the goals, and Poland was the only member state opposes that policy. This research aims to explain the factors driving Poland's opposition to the European Green Deal in 2019-2023. Coplin explained that a country's decisions can be influenced by several determinant factors, namely the international context, domestic politics, and economic and military stability. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis research type. This research found that Poland's decision to oppose The European Green Deal was caused by Poland's energy and economic security, international dynamics and euroskepticism, as well as Poland’s domestic political instability.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the functions of the international organizations, specifically the International Labour Organization (ILO) through the Better Work Bangladesh (BWB) program in promoting decent work for female workers in Bangladesh’s garment industry. Despite being the world’s second-largest garment exporter with a predominantly female workforce, the fulfillment of workers’ rights remains inadequate. Using the framework of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs) proposed by Karns, Mingst, and Stiles, the research examines how BWB addresses gender discrimination, enhances training opportunities, and fosters inclusive workplaces. Employing a qualitative descriptive case study, the study relies on document analysis of annual reports, ILO publications, and related sources. The findings indicate that BWB has improved compliance with labor standards, particularly regarding working hours, wages, non-discrimination, and protection for women workers. Initiatives such as GEAR and Mothers@Work, implemented in collaboration with the IFC and national stakeholders, further strengthened gender-responsive labor governance. The study concludes that BWB serves as a collaborative platform linking international and domestic actors in advancing decent work and gender equality in Bangladesh’s garment sector.

Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is one of the funding sources, alongside the State Budget (APBN), that can be used to support national development. This study aims to analyze the policies implemented by the Indonesian government to achieve adequate infrastructure development in accordance with the SDGs agenda, particularly transportation infrastructure that supports global sustainability by utilizing Chinese FDI as one of its funding sources. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry, while secondary data were collected from reports, journals, articles, and relevant websites. Using Theodore H. Moran’s concept of FDI and Development, this study analyzes how Indonesian government policies seek to achieve structural benefits in managing Chinese FDI in the transportation sector to support sustainable development. The findings show that the four main indicators of FDI and Development—transparency of payments, improvement of economic patterns, enhancement of the local business climate, and promotion of investment—have been implemented fairly well. Chinese FDI has contributed to technological transfer, skill upgrading, supporting industries, and improved investor confidence in Indonesia’s sustainable transportation development.
