Abstract

The Class VII Science Odd Semester Exam Questions at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the 2019/2020 academic year are not analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively and do not have standardized questions. Standardized questions are questions that have been tried several times, have a coefficient of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power, and other information deemed necessary. Therefore, the researcher felt the need to analyze the items. This study aims to determine the quality of the items qualitatively and quantitatively (reliability, validity, distinguishing power, difficulty level, and distractor quality). This research is descriptive research. The research population consisted of all the answer sheets for the Class VII IPA odd semester examination at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 26 students. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. The research instrument used a question construction quality questionnaire. Data collection techniques with document study. The quantitative results were analyzed using the ANATES program.Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) The construct validity of the questions did not yet fulfill all aspects, both in terms of science content, construction, and language; 2) The validity of the questions was low, dominated by invalid questions; 3) Reliability category is sufficient; 4) Poor differentiation; 5) Medium level of difficulty; 6) Distractor quality is good and functioning. Thus, the questions have not met the criteria for good and standardized questions, so they need to be revised.

Abstract

The learning model is needed so that students can actively research and properly apply the subject matter. POEa is one of them. Utilizing POE as a teaching method can help students learn science. The POE learning model is the subject of this study's literature review. This study tries to ascertain whether educating junior high school students using the POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) paradigm will increase their understanding of scientific concepts. Next, we organize each section by broad topic. Based on selected publications, research data. According to research results, using the POE learning method can improve students' understanding of scientific ideas, help them approach science critically, and improve their academic achievement.

Abstract

Low student communication skills have been the cause of this research, which had an impact on learning outcomes because there had not been training on students' communication skills through the application of appropriate learning models. The learning process, which still uses conventional learning models, namely group discussions, has not made each student active and responsible for group assignments and has not trained communication skills in scientific arguments. Therefore, an appropriate learning model is needed, one of which is the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type cooperative learning model. The aim of the research is to determine the effect of implementing the NHT type cooperative learning model on the communication skills of SMPN 3 Tebo students. The research uses a Quasi-Experimental type of research with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research began with a pretest in the experimental class and control class, then treatment was given to the experimental class, and at the end of the learning process, a posttest was given to both classes. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. The test instrument consists of 13 description questions. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to carry out prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests on overall communication skills and each ability indicator. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' overall communication skills between before and after treatment. Through the Mann Whitney test with Zcount -5.32 and Ztabel 1.96 with the criterion that H0 is accepted if –Ztabel ≤ Zcount ≤ Ztabel, then Zcount -5.32 < -Ztabel -1.96, then H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence of implementing the Numbered Head Together type learning model on the communication skills of students at SMP Negeri 3 Tebo Regency.

Abstract

The Workshop on Using Articulate Storyline to develop learning media for Junior High School Teachers in Agam Regency aims to provide training for teachers so that they are able to develop their own learning media according to the characteristics of their students. This activity was successful in increasing teachers' conceptual understanding and practical skills in integrating learning technology. Post-workshop evaluation revealed significant improvements in teachers' conceptual understanding regarding the use of Articulate Storyline for online and/or digital learning at the Junior High School level. Participants gain in-depth insight into the user interface, key features, and potential applications. In addition, this workshop was effective in improving participants' practical skills, including designing interactive learning materials, selecting appropriate media, and integrating multimedia elements. The result is that teachers feel more confident and ready to face the challenges of online and/or digital learning and are able to create more dynamic learning. The transformation of the teaching paradigm is the main highlight, namely teachers experiencing a positive shift in their approach to technology in everyday teaching. This workshop not only provides technical expertise, but also creates the foundation for a mutually supportive and inspiring learning community in Agam Regency.
