Abstract

This community service partnership is the initiative of the English Department at IAIN Lhokseumawe and SSB (Sekolah Sukma Bangsa). Further, under the supervision and selection of English department lecturers, EDSA (English Department Students Association) provides instructors for SSB activities. This SEFA program is an extracurricular class activity consisting of English language enrichment tutorials and activities for SSB students. This initiative was implemented between 6 June and 28 November 2022. This program's goal is to boost students' oral English potential through constant exposure in small groups. Hence, it is expected that this community service would contribute to the improvement of educational outcomes at both institutions.

Abstract

This article discusses the involvement of career women in educating children which is reviewed from the literature. With the development of science and technology (IPTEK) which is increasingly advanced, it leads to the advancement of a broad mindset and knowledge for everyone. The aims of this article to is determine the involvement of career women or mothers in children's education. Career women or working women are women who have a high education to get an opportunity in working with various professions. Islam does not prohibit women from working outside the home to get workers the same rights as men. However, women must be accustomed to having dual roles as working women and mothers in educating their children because the main task of women is to educate and guide their children to become mature and useful human beings for them and others. Education that must be owned by a child is; physical and spiritual education, aqidah and moral education, worship education, intellectual and economic education.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the ability of process to comprehend the text or massage, its meaning and integrate with the knowledge readers that they have already known. When they read a text, they can obtain much information about knowledge. In fact, the students still not interest in learning reading comprehension, because it’s boring situation and they cannot understand about the text or massage. The interest topic is one of the strategies can be used by the teacher in teaching learning reading subject for students. It increases the students’ motivation and their interest in learning. Students’ interest is come from within students or from their inside. Two types of interest can influence the students’ interest: first, personal interest is the students only focus a specific activity or topic. Second, situational interest is the students’ interest are not permanent depend on the condition stimulate. In learning, the teacher is a control person to manage the students and the teacher should choice the interest topic in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan di gampong Dayah Blang Seureukuy dan Blang Seureukuy bertujuan untuk peningkatan pendidikan karakter islami dan peningkatan ekonomi keluarga. Subjek dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah   remaja   yang berusia mulai dari 16 tahun sampai 25 tahun berjumlah 40 orang, dengan menggunakan pendekatan CBR (Community Based Research) dan metode PAP. Subjek merupakan remaja pada usia produktif, namun mereka memiliki riwayat putus sekolah sejak SMP dan SMA. Mereka diberikan pendampingan dan pelatihan tentang pentingnya pendidikan karakter islami sebagai pondasi awal dan bekal masa depan karena mereka asset bangsa yang akan menjadi pemimpin kelak. Para remaja ini diberikan pelatihan tentang pengelolaan ekonomi keluarga melalui kegiatan wirausaha dan strategi pemasarannya. Hal ini dilakukan sehingga subjek sasaran memperoleh pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pendidikan karakter islami dan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan ekonomi dalam keluarga. Metode yang dilakukan berupa pelatihan dan penyuluhan secara langsung kepada subjek secara bertahap. Lokasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di gampong Dayah Blang Seureukuy dan Blang Seureukuy yang memiliki remaja putus sekolah yang cukup tinggi.
