Abstract

One of he problem at PT. TEB is that the assembly process for installing switches on the scale printer without using tools or jigs, and it causes the switch position is not correct because employees only use feeling and hearing when installing and causes undetectable rejects (Can Not Print). Other factor is installing the switch on the printer without using tools can also take quite a long time, resulting in the production of scales being of poor quality. The aim of this research is how to design tools to help install switches on printers using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method and it is also hoped that the results of this design make the quality of the scales is even better. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 10 people consisting of operators, production leaders and also Quality Control. The results of data collection from the questionnaire showed that it was necessary to add an Assembly Switch Process to the Printer, namely by adding a jig switch. Therefore a new jig design can be used. The output produced after using the switch jig design increased by 68% and the rejected output decreased by 75% so it is considered that the new jig design can increase production results.

Abstract

Training is very important to increase the productivity of the company. Without the right training, worker will not understand and not know how to do right process. Worker with right process will be achieve good product. Sometimes, the problem of lack training is no proper training material availability for process. In this paper, author want to create training material for soldering process because soldering process is one of critical process, no proper soldering training material and support e-training as new implementation in XYZ company, and author is using ADDIE approach to create it. From ADDIE approach, author create 2 training phase and 2 types of assessment and training use multi – sensory learning which are visual, auditive, kinesthetic and tactile. In visual, using interactive video, participants watch the video, do the process as they see in the video, give the explanation, and they can ask the trainer if any question. Then worker will get training more about product especially for quality, output and ergonomic. After implementing it, workers is more understand and they can produce good product and right quantity, and trainer is more comfortable to give training for workers.

Abstract

PT. EO-Industri Kimia adalah perusahaan Oleokimia yang memproduksi Fatty Acid dari minyak kelapa sawit (CPO). Fatty Acid diperoleh melalui reaksi CPO dengan air pada temperatur 250-260 °C, tekanan 50-55 bar. Ukuran keberhasilan proses Fatty Acid dilihat dari perolehan Splitting Degree yaitu 98% minimal. Dalam proses pengolahan minyak sawit menjadi Fatty Acid di PT. EO, terdapat variasi perolehan nilai Splitting Degree. Pada bulan Februari 2024 rata-rata perolehan Splitting Degree ialah 97,53%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah agar perolehan Splitting Degree tercapai minimal 98%. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode FMEA dan PDCA. FMEA adalah metode yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kegagalan suatu proses. Sedangkan PDCA digunakan untuk perbaikan secara terus. Pada Februari 2024 perolehan rata-rata Splitting Degree ialah 97,53 %. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan menggunakan metode FMEA dan PDCA perolehan Splitting Degree pada Juli 2024 menjadi 98,95%. Penurunan perolehan Splitting Degree disebabkan oleh adanya BE yang terikut ke Splitting Column yang menyebabkan Floater Level Transmitter Stuck, Plug Control valve Fatty Acid dan RGW terkikis. Penyebab kedua ialah akibat adanya kontaminasi air umpan yakni %Gly > 0,2% di air umpan. Untuk meningkatkan perolehan Splitting Degree ialah dengan menjaga level air pada range 1,5 – 3 meter serta memastikan air umpan tidak terkontaminasi Glycerine ( 0,2 % maksimal).

Abstract

Pemilihan supplier adalah faktor utama yang perlu diperhatikan oleh suatu industri manufaktur. Adapun pengaruh dari pemilihan supplier ini aldah terhadap biaya produksi yang akan dikeluarkan oleh perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan mengetahui bagaimana proses dalam pemilihan supplier di perusahaan manufaktur. Metode yang penulis gunakan adalah literature review dari artikel ilmiah dari jurnal yang bereputasi. Dari literature review ini memaparkan cara dan metode yang digunakan dalam pemilihan supplier di industri manufaktur, metode dan kriteria yang digunakan dalam melakukan pemilihan.

Abstract

Welding is an important process in the shipbuilding industry that affects the strength and safety of ship structures. At PT BVS, the Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) process still produces a high defect rate, particularly types of defects such as porosity, slag inclusion, undercut, root concavity, and lack of fusion. Based on data from January to May 2025, the reject rate reached 56%, far exceeding the company's standard of 10%. This study aims to identify the types and causes of defects in FCAW welding, as well as provide improvement proposals using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. The analysis show that the three causes with the highest RPN values come from human factors, methods, and machines. Improvement proposals include operator training, preparation of welding Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), regular equipment condition checks, and adjustment of welding parameters. The implementation of these improvement proposals is expected to reduce the defect rate, improve the quality of welding results, and minimize rework costs and production delays. This study provides practical contributions for companies in enhancing welding quality and serves as a reference for quality control in the shipbuilding industry.
