Abstract

High-quality campus services play a crucial role in supporting educational activities in higher education institutions. One approach to enhancing these services is by leveraging chatbot technology. Chatbots can provide swift and efficient responses to students, simplifying access to information and facilitating various transactions. Moreover, chatbots help reduce the workload of administrative staff, allowing them to concentrate on more complex responsibilities. However, data security and privacy remain critical aspects that require further improvement to ensure user trust. This study focuses on evaluating a chatbot application designed to support administrative services in the Electrical Engineering Department of the State Polytechnic of Malang using the string matching method. The evaluation process includes testing the chatbot’s functionality, interaction quality, compatibility, security, and overall performance. Results indicate that the chatbot achieves an accuracy rate of 90% in addressing students’ inquiries. Most users expressed satisfaction with the chatbot’s response speed and precision. These findings suggest that chatbots are an effective solution for improving administrative services, particularly in the context of the Electrical Engineering Department at the State Polytechnic of Malang.

Abstract

People who speech impaired that uses body movements to deliver information. In everyday life, it is not uncommon for people with disabilities to communicate with normal people who do not understand the meaning of what is delivered. One example is when a speech-impaired person wants to order food at drive-thru service fast food restaurant, the seller must have special skills to understand what is being delivered. In this paper, we will discuss the application of the Viola Jones algorithm for hand gesture detection systems in drive-thru service fast food restaurant. The Viola Jones algorithm was proposed because the algorithm is the most famous and best choice of gesture classifier for detecting hands in real time based on the accuracy speed. The system is able to translate the given gestures, data enters Firebase as a real time database, sellers can find out the total shopping through the cashier application. The system cannot translate the gesture if the given hand is not completely in the specified area of the box. Based on testing on 10 different respondents, the system can detect hand gesture with an average system success of 92,01%.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) Pakis Sabilulungan is a business entity that houses small, micro and medium-sized businesses located in Mekarsari Village, Pasirjambu, Bandung, Indonesia. At present, BUM Desa Pakis has begun to pioneer several businesses including the production of snacks, coffee, crafts, and clothing. But there are obstacles where marketing is still limited to one sub-district and income tends to stagnate. Therefore, we need an internet-based technology that is able to help marketing more broadly and more easily than the current situation. The proposed technology in BUM Desa Pakis is a web-based e-marketplace, where all business owners can sell goods on the same platform. In its development, the prototyping method was used. This is because BUM Desa needs a description of the application that will be used before further development. The results of the e-Marketplace development on BUM Desa show that the marketing process can be carried out faster, payments can be made through bank transfers and delivery can be done through expeditions. This is significantly able to expand product marketing from Mekarsari Village

Abstract

Kampung Wisata Ekologis Puspa Jagad, sebagai destinasi yang mengedepankan pendidikan ekologis dan budaya, saat ini menghadapi tantangan dalam menyampaikan materi edukatif dan informasi secara efektif akibat keterbatasan peralatan, khususnya kekurangan LCD proyektor. Polinema melalui kegiatan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (PPM) hadir membantu memberikan solusi atas permasalahan mitra. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berupa pelatihan pengoperasian sistem proyeksi digital dan diikuti dengan penyerahan seperangkat alat pendukung berupa LCD proyektor dan layar proyektor tripod. Pelatihan mencakup cara mengoperasikan LCD proyektor sesuai tipe dan fiturnya. Hasil kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa seluruh responden (100%) sangat setuju terhadap semua aspek pelaksanaan kegiatan PPM di Kawasan Wisata Ekologis Puspa Jagad. Hal ini menegaskan bahwa program PPM dirancang sesuai kebutuhan, memberikan solusi efektif, serta meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kemandirian mitra dalam mengelola destinasi wisata. Tim PPM juga dinilai responsif dan pendampingannya dianggap memadai.
