Abstract

This study describes the mythical structure in the folklore of batu nganga batangko in the people of Rhee Loka Village, Rhee District, Sumbawa Regency. The purpose of this study is to identify the shape of miteme-miteme and reveal the meaning of myths in the folklore of batu nganga batangko. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out on data that were considered to describe the problems raised in this study, utilizing Levi-Strauss's theory of structuralism. The study identified 41 miteme divided into three episodes. In addition, researchers also discovered the role of characters as the driving force of stories, mythical language that is relaxed using colloquial language that remains polite, and the meaning of myths that teach us to always have a spirit of life

Abstract

Masyarakat Bima memiliki syair yang dikhususkan bagi perempuan Bima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengabstraksikan muatan dalam syair tersebut yang dianggap sebagai suatu wacana yang berupaya melaksanakan praktik ideologi patriarki. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelusuran pustaka, penyimakan, dan pencatatan data-data yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan data-data yang diperoleh sesuai dengan konsep teori analisis wacana Teun A van Dijk. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menemukan empat poin utama pengimplementasian ideologi patriarki melalui wacana. Pertama, wacana sebagai percakapan yang dilontarkan dalam keluarga sebagai petuah para orang tua bagi anak-anak perempuan mereka. Kedua, lingkungan sosial dapat menjadi ruang bagi wacana berperan dalam praktik sosialnya. Ketiga, rekognisi sosial terhadap syair perempuan Bima dapat diperoleh melalui proses percakapan dan praktik sosialnya di masyarakat untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada perempuan mengapa muatan isi syair begitu dianjurkan bagi mereka. Keempat, pembeberan bahwa upaya-upaya tersebut merupakan suatu bentuk praktik ideologi patriarki dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

The focus of this study is to describe the role of Siti as a wife and mother who has to deal with multiple layers of economic, social, and psychological pressures as a result of having to take care of the household while also being the main breadwinner for her family. This study aims to discuss the representation of dual roles experienced by female characters in Eddie Cahyono's film Siti. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with narrative analysis methods to reveal the representation of economic burdens, domestic burdens, as well as identity crises and female independence experienced by the main character. The results of the study show that the film Siti strongly depicts the condition of women trapped in dual roles. The character Siti must struggle with caring for her paralyzed husband, raising her children, and working at night as a karaoke hostess to meet her family's economic needs. The film also portrays Siti's identity crisis, her emotional alienation, and her difficulty in gaining recognition for her struggles. Thus, the film Siti serves as a vivid portrayal of the reality of women living within a patriarchal system and facing structural pressures that hinder their autonomy and well-being.
