Abstract

Abstract

Kolaka is one of the districts in Southeast Sulawesi. Kolaka Regency is a coastal area located in Southeast Sulawesi Province. Kolaka is like a hidden paradise on the west coast of Sulawesi Island. As a large area that borders the sea, namely Bone Bay to the west. Kolaka Regency has a coastline that stretches for 293.45 km, decorated with white sandy beaches, clear sea water. One potential that is worth paying attention to as a tourist destination is Kapu Beach, which is located in Kapu Village, Samaturu District, Kolaka Regency. However, currently, Kapu Beach is polluted with lots of plastic and organic waste scattered around and reducing the beauty of the beach. The method used in this activity is the observation method. The first stage that was carried out began with coordination with the local government and the management of Kapu Beach. The second stage, namely checking the condition of the tourist beaches that would be cleaned, as well as preparing paint for re-tightening the trees and aesthetic photo spots. The third stage, This stage carries out the process of cleaning the beach tourism environment and painting several photo spots. What is meant by the observation method is a way of collecting information from relevant data by observing. The result of this activity for the surrounding community is to build self-awareness for the community to care about the beach and coastal environment and also be aware of the dangers of environmental pollution, considering that the location where they live is on the coast of Kapu Village. Based on the results of the service carried out, the conclusion that can be drawn from the beach clean-up activity is that it was held smoothly and in accordance with the previously planned activity structure, and cleaning up rubbish at the tourist attraction was not easy, the large number of visitors not only had a positive impact on tourist attractions but there There is also a negative impact, namely, where a lot of plastic waste is found both around the gazebo and even on the coast, there is also a lot of waste used from visitors' food. It is important to maintain the cleanliness of the beach tourism environment so that it can be managed well and optimally.

Abstract

In recent years, Southeast Sulawesi has witnessed significant infrastructure development, which is expected to stimulate economic growth, attract investments, create job opportunities, and improve its residents' overall quality of life. This study seeks to analyze the effect of infrastructure on the economic growth of Southeast Sulawesi from 2010 to 2022. Utilizing secondary data, including the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Southeast Sulawesi and infrastructure indicators such as roads, water, and electricity, Employing a quantitative approach, specifically Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, this research aims to determine the effect of road, water and electricity infrastructure on economic growth in Sulawesi Tenggara. The findings indicate that when analyzed individually, road and electricity infrastructure significantly influence economic growth. Improved road networks facilitate heightened economic activity by promoting the movement of goods and services, enhancing regional connectivity, and improving accessibility. At the same time, electricity infrastructure proves vital in supporting various sectors and activities, thereby contributing to overall economic growth. Surprisingly, the individual analysis of water infrastructure reveals no significant impact on economic growth, possibly attributed to inefficiencies or ineffectiveness in project implementation or management. However, if the influence of road, water and electricity infrastructure is analyzed simultaneously, the impact is positive and significant on economic growth in Southeast Sulawesi. The synergistic presence of these infrastructure components plays a vital role in supporting economic development. Increasing connectivity, increasing accessibility, and simplifying production and distribution activities contribute to attracting investment, growing competitiveness, and ultimately encouraging the economic development of Southeast Sulawesi as a whole.

Abstract

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, boasts extensive and diverse coastal resources. Sustainable management of coastal areas is crucial to ensure long-term benefits for communities. One recently opened tourist destination is Karang Empat Beach, located in Ranokomea Village, West Poleang District, Bombana Regency. Despite its high tourism potential, the beach faces serious issues related to waste accumulation, particularly plastic waste, caused by a lack of visitor awareness and inadequate disposal facilities. To address this problem, a dedicated team conducted a series of activities, including the provision of trash bins, beach clean-up efforts, and the installation of informational boards to raise public awareness. The positive response from local authorities further supported these efforts. The results of these activities demonstrated a reduction in waste on the beach and an increase in public awareness about proper waste disposal. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between communities and management in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the sustainability of tourist areas.

Abstract

In order to attain high economic growth and equitable economic development, each region has to determine its regional economic growth centre.  The existence of an economic growth center allows for the concentration of economic activity, which in turn has a ripple effect on the surrounding areas (Hinterland). This study was carried out to identify the primary centres of economic growth in Kendari and analyse their interactions and influence on the surrounding hinterland. This study employed both primary and secondary data, which were analysed using scalogram analysis, centrality index analysis, and gravity analysis. The findings indicate that among the eleven sub-districts in Kendari, three of them, namely Kadia, Kendari Barat, and Mandonga, serve as economic growth centres. Each economic growth centre is connected with a primary hinterland that exhibits the highest level of attraction or interaction value when compared to other districts. Among these centres, Kadia is the sub-district with the higher growth centre hierarchy and it has the highest interactions with Wua-wua. The interaction value between Kadia and Wua-wua is 139595130.7. Kendari Barat is the second growth centre in terms of its interactions with Mandonga, with an interaction value of 710383315.6. Mandonga is the third growth centre that has the highest level of interaction with Kendari Barat, with an interaction value of 710383315.6. The implication of the study is to formulate more targeted policies based on strong empirical evidence.
