Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Peningkatan Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Berbasis Etnomatematika Pada Materi Uang.Penelitian ini merupakan Peneltian Tindakan Kelas ( PTK )dengan desain penelitian pretes-posttest only control desain.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas III SDN 112319 Bulu Sari .Satu kelas dipilih untuk dijadikan sampel penelitian. Objek penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan berbasis etnomatematika pada materi Uang.Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus. Berdasarkan analisis data kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada setiap aspek yakni aspek representasi ,kemampuan komuniksi matematis seiswa meningkat 43,77(siklus I) menjadi 68,33 (siklus II) .Hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada setiap aspek yakni aspek repserentasi ,kemampuan komunikasi matematis meningkat dari rata-rata 43,33(siklus I ) menjadi 68,33 (siklus II ) .Pada aspek menggambar kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa meningkat dari rata-rata 46,66 menjadi 80,83 (Siklus II ) .Pada aspek menulis /menjelalaskan kemampuan komunikasi meningkat dari 57,5 (siklus I) menjadi 73,33 (siklus II). Berdasarkan uraian di atas dapat disimpulkan komunikasimatematis siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan menerapkan pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika pada materi jual beli di SDN 112319 Bulu Sari .

Abstract

This study aimed to implement a Minangkabau culture-based learning pathway and to improve students' mathematical communication skills at SMA Negeri 3 Padang. This study uses a design research approach with three phases (preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis), the study involved 36 students in the main teaching experiment after a pilot study involving 8 students. The learning trajectory integrated Minangkabau cultural contexts such as traditional house architecture, traditional textiles, and market systems into mathematics learning activities. The learning trajectory was implemented on transformational geometry topics (translation, reflection, rotation, and dilation). The results showed a significant improvement in students' mathematical communication skills, with the average score increasing from 62.3 (pre-test) to 84.7 (post-test). Students demonstrated improved abilities in expressing mathematical ideas orally and in writing, using mathematical representations, and interpreting mathematical statements. The culture-based learning trajectory proved effective in making mathematics more meaningful and relevant to students' daily lives.   Keywords: Design Research; Ethnomathematics; Learning Trajectory; Mathematical Communication; Minangkabau Culture

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve mathematical problem solving ablity with realistic approach in the students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. The design of this research is Class Action Research (PTK) that consists of 2 cycles. The material used in this research is probability material. The object of this research is students' mathematical problem solving ability by applying realistic approach to probability material. The subject ini this research were 36 students of grade VIII-7 at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. The results of this research are: (1) In the initial test, only 1 student (2,2%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is in the very low category. (2) In the Cycle I, there was an improvement, with 18 students (50%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is 64,5 with a level of ability in the low category. (3) In the Cycle II, there was further improvement, with 32 students (88,9%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is 83,1 with a level of ability in the high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of realistic approach can improve the mathematical problem solving ability
