Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine self-learning using mobile-based to help children enrich their English vocabularies. This learning process used an apps called ‘English for Children’ (Bahasa Inggris Untuk Anak). It consists of twenty (20) vocabulary categories. They are Alphabet, Numbers, Colors, Shapes, Family, Body parts, Days of the week, Months of the year, Fruits, Vegetables, Animals, Birds, Food, Clothes, Kitchen, Bathroom, Living room, School, Sports, and Professions. Every word category is followed by four (4) learning sections such as ‘Learn’, ‘Writing’, ‘Find the word’, and ‘Find the picture’. Every section is served with pictures (visualization). Exercises can also be found in the ‘Writing’, ‘Find the word’, and ‘Find the picture’ sections as a benchmark of learning progress. The participants were 10 children age 10-11 years old. This type of learning was using student-centered model. The qualitative research method is used in this research. The systematic analysis of textual data was obtained via interviews, surveys, focus groups and diary entries. The result can be seen through the score of the exercise. Surprisingly, the score has risen significantly. Children could pass the exercise easily with the help of pictures. It means that by applying learning English vocabularies through mobile-based self-learning indicated that there was any significant difference before and after using this method.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah guna mengetahui apakah konseling kelompok yang dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan manajemen diri dapat mengurangi krisis identitas siswa. Penelitian eksperimental digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Semua murid kelas XI SMA Islam Al-Fattah Bondowoso menjadi populasi dalam kesempatan kali ini. Studi riset ini memakai observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner selaku teknik pengumpulan data. Instrumen memakai skala kuesioner berlandaskan skala Likert: sangat sesuai, sesuai, tidak sesuai, dan sangat tidak sesuai. sedangakn guna memperoleh sampel digunakanlah teknik purposive sampling, yakni semua murid kelas XI SMA Islam Al-Fattah. Pretest satu kelompok dan posttest adalah pengaturan eksperimen penelitian ini. Uji Wilxocon match pairs dipakai selaku metode analisis data pada kesempatan kali ini. Penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana penggunaan teknik manajemen diri dalam sebuah kelompok dapat membantu siswa yang mengalami krisis identitas. Skor kuesioner krisis identitas diri siswa kelas XI di SMA Islam Al-Fattah Bondowoso mengalami penurunan setelah diberi perlakuan dengan pendekatan manajemen diri. Terdapat nilai asymp, Sig, (2-tailed) senilai 0,002 yang lebih rendah dari 0,25. Sehingga, layak dikatakan bahwa Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolak. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa rerata hasil kuesioner dari pretest dan posttest berbeda. Dengan demikian, penggabungan keterampilan manajemen diri dengan teknik bimbingan kelompok dapat membantu siswa dalam mengatasi krisis identitas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Efektifitas Teknik Self Instruction Dalam Meningktkan Percaya Diri Siswa Kelas VII MTsN 7 Jember. Jenis Penelitian ini Pretest – Postest Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 orang siswa,10 orang siswa kelas VII A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 10 siswa kelas VII E sebagai kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitin ini menggunakan angket. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan percaya diri siswa meningkat setelah diberikan perlakuan berupa konseling kelompok dengan teknik self instruction. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pretest dan posttest penelitian, didalam pretest menunjukkan skor nilai 73,7 dan posttest menunjukkan hasil skor 88,2 maka hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa percaya diri siswa setelah diberikan perlakuan mengalami peningkatan skor sebesar 8,2%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik self instruction efektif untuk meningkatkan percaya diri siswa kelas VII MTsN 7 Jember. Berbeda dengan kelompok kontrol yang tidak mengalami peningkatan percaya diri, hal itu bisa dilihat dari hasil pretest yang menunjukkan skor 70,5 dan hasil posttest menunjukkan skor 71,4. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pada kelompok kontrol tidak mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

This case study is being conducted after long observation to a child named AB. He is eight (8) years old and he doesn’t being a part of any schools. He has a problem related to the hearing. Doctor has diagnosed him as a deaf person. In his everyday life, he doesn’t do any activities in normal way such as take everything without permission, he is not able communicate with each other, and he can’t express his willing. After doing depth interview to his mother, unfortunately, his mother doesn’t apply the right parenting for him. That is why it becomes a reason that he does such things. All of these are caused by the failure of his receptive language. Normal children will process the information he got and then express it in oral language. AB doesn’t have this ability because there is a problem with his hearing. In other words, his receptive language is not running well. Referring to this condition, every parent should give best and more attention to every child with special need like AB. Some scientists say that a child like AB has the same chance to get good parenting like others. Many stimulus and exercises must given to him in order he can do many thing by himself and he can be accepted by his environment.

Abstract

Composing an article or a thesis is a must for the final semester students in the university. Unfortunately, not all of them could make it easily. Some of them are still having difficulties to find ideas and replace it to the written form based on the right grammar of Indonesian language. Therefore, this study has been done by knowing the linguistic’s profile of the students. Someone that has good linguistic profile should comply some criterion. This study uses qualitative method with purposive sampling. Then, the data obtained will be validated by informan review. There are 5 informans of this study and the result shows that one (1) student has high level of linguistic intelligence, 3 students are in the middle level and another one with the lowest level.

Abstract

This case study is held to knowing the side effects of using gadget by children ages 5-8. In our daily lifes, gadget can be assistant in doing many things such as communication equipments, browsing facts or knowledges, entertainment or even as life style. If gadget used by children without special supervision, it will give negative effect for their language development. It is called ‘mistake’. This kind of mistake will happen if the contents that they watched full of impolite words. Children will directly imitate what they’ve heard without considering the meaning or its congruity. As a result, it will be constantly influence children’s language development.
