Abstract

Seiring berkembangnya teknologi, udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) telah dikembangkan dengan sistem intensif menggunakan plastik HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) termasuk di implementasikan pada sistem BUSMETIK (Budidaya Udang Skala Mini Empang Plastik). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji analisis kelayakan usaha pada budidaya udang vaname (L. vannamei) dengan menggunakan sistem BUSMETIK.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Tambak Wirausaha milik Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) yang terletak di Desa Karangantu, Kecamatan Kasemen,  Kota Serang, Provinsi Banten. Data dikumpulkan dari 3 KUB yang melakukan kegiatan usaha budidaya udang vaname (L. vannamei). Setiap KUB beranggotakan 10-20 orang dan  dalam pengelolaan operasional tambak dilakukan oleh 3-4 orang setiap KUB. Usaha budidaya udang yang dilakukan oleh masing-masing KUB terdiri dari 5 kolam. Jumlah kolam yang menjadi subyek penelitian ini yaitu 15 kolam.  Analisis kelayakan usaha pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan data keuangan yang digunakan mulai dari tahap persiapan sampai dengan pemasaran hasil panen di masing-masing KUB pada 1 siklus usaha. Metode analisis yang digunakan meliputi Analisis Keuntungan, Rasio Penerimaan Atas Biaya (R/C Ratio), Payback Periode (PP), dan Break Event Point (BEP). Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, usaha budidaya udang vaname (L. vannamei) dengan menggunakan sistem BUSMETIK layak untuk dilakukan di Desa Karangantu, Kecamatan Kasemen,  Kota Serang, Provinsi Banten. Usaha budidaya udang memenuhi beberapa kriteria analisis kelayakan usaha meliputi keuntungan Rp. 27.369.975/kolam/siklus (47,5% dari biaya operasional), R/C Ratio 1,48 (R/C1), Payback Period 1,84 (PP3 tahun) dan harga produksi serta jumlah produksi lebih tinggi dari BEP harga maupun BEP produksi.

Abstract

Squid is one of the non-fish resources that have economic value and is a target species in demersal fisheries activities with squid fishing gear and stick-held deep net. This research aims to determine the biological aspects of squid (Loligo edulis) such as length frequency distribution, length-weight relationship, sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index, size at first caught, and size at first maturity of the gonads. The method used in this research was a descriptive survey. The sample collection method used systematic random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. This observation was carried out on March 7 to July 30, 2022, at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port and Tanjung Balai Port. The results showed that the average length distribution of squid was 17.73 cm. The relationship between the length and weight of squid is negative allometric. The sex ratio is 1:1.05. The negative allometric growth pattern is dominated by Gonadal Maturity Level (GML) I and GML II. The highest GML value for male squid was 2.06% at GML III, and the highest GML value for female squid was 1.92% at GML III. The average size of the caught squid length (Lc) is 10.42 cm. The size of the first gonad maturity (Lc) was 13.32 cm.Keywords:SquidBiological aspectsFisheries aspectManagement effort

Abstract

Bakteri Vibrio harveyi merupakan penyakit bakterial yang banyak dijumpai pada kegiatan budidaya perikanan. Penggunaan antibiotik dalam pencegahan dan pengobatan serangan penyakit menyebabkan efek negatif. Daun Ketapang (Terminalia catappa L) diketahui mengandung senyawa kimia seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, fenolik, tanin, dan saponin yang dapat berperan sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya antibakteri ekstrak daun Ketapang terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Vibrio harveyi. Uji daya antibakteri dilakukan dengan 5 jenis perlakuan yaitu 1 perlakuan tanpa daun Ketapang (kontrol) dan 4 perlakuan daun Ketapang dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda yaitu 15, 30, 60, dan 120gram daun ketapang/liter. Masing - masing perlakuan terdiri dari 3 pengulangan. Ekstrak daun Ketapang menunjukkan daya antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Vibrio harveyi dengan rerata hambatan masing – masing konsentrasi (Mean ± SEM) yaitu 7,53 ± 0,13 mm (15 gram/liter); 7,70 ± 0,36 (30 gram/liter); 8,25 ± 0,15 (60 gram/liter); and 9,62 ± 0,83(120 gram/liter). Perlakuan tanpa daun Ketapang (kontrol) tidak menunjukkan daya antibakteri. Ekstrak daun Ketapang menunjukkan daya antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Vibrio harveyii dengan daya antibakteri sebanding terhadap konsentrasi ekstrak.

Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) is one of the freshwater fish highly favored by fish farmers in Indonesia. The use of feed additives in fish diets to accelerate growth and enhance immunity has been widely practiced. Avocado is a natural plant known for its beneficial chemical compounds. This study aims to investigate the potential of avocado fruit and leaf extracts as feed additives for Nile tilapia. The Nile tilapia, with an average weight of 2.0 g/fish, were reared in 21 aquariums at a density of 16 fish/aquarium for 30 days. Avocado leaf and fruit extracts were mixed into the feed before being given to the fish. The study included seven treatments: avocado leaf extract at 5%, 10%, and 20% (DA5, DA10, and DA20), avocado fruit extract at 5%, 10%, and 20% (BA5, BA10, and BA20), and a control group without treatment (C). The final fish weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, and survival rate of Nile tilapia with avocado leaf and fruit extract treatments were higher compared to the control group. Conversely, the condition factor of fish without treatment was higher compared to those with treatments. Avocado fruit extract showed a more beneficial effect compared to avocado leaf extract. The use of higher doses of extracts demonstrated a better positive impact on Nile tilapia. Avocado fruit extract at a dose of 20% showed the best results for application in aquaculture activities.
