Abstract

The fisheries sector has a strategic role in national development. WPP 572 and 573 are the broad waters and located in the Indian ocean. This area has a quiet fish potential, especially from group of pelagic fishes as skipjack tuna, bigeye tuna, mackerel scad, yellowfin tuna, Indian mackerel, and mackerel tuna. However, in terms of utilization of fish resources, WPP 572 and 573 are currently experiencing a fully exploited period, especially for small and large pelagic fish. One of the methods to overcome fully exploited conditions is by managing the limitation on the size of fish that are fit to be caught. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The sample was taken based on the purposive sampling method, by taking several types of fish caught according to their respective types which were considered to represent all the fish that had been caught. The number of fish samples adjusts to the capacity of the large pan which contains 18-20 large fish, and 50-100 small fish. The total number of catches was 75,878 kg. The main catch was 57,435 kg and bycatch was 18,443 kg. Percentage of catches were skipjack tuna (72% feasible, 28% unfit), baby tuna (100% unfit), yellowfin tuna (51% feasible, 49% unfit), mackerel scad, mackerel tuns, dolphinfish, and other fish (100% feasible). The whole fish caught in KM Bintang Sampurna-B according to the number of samples measured shows that 74% are fit to catch and 26% are not fit to be caught.

Abstract

Ikan layang benggol (Decapterus russelli) merupakan komoditas utama dan mempunyai nilai ekonomis penting di perairan Laut Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan informasi mengenai musim penangkapan dan kelimbahan. Data diperoleh dengan metode wawancara dan data hasil tangkapan ikan layang benggol periode 2015 – 2020 didapatkan dari PPN Pekalongan dan PPP Bajomulyo Pati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ikan layang benggol berdasarkan Indeks musim penangkapan (IMP) melimpah pada periode Juli – November. Nilai CPUE tahunan mengalami fluktuasi, dimana kenaikan CPUE yang cukup signifikan terjadi pada tahun 2020. Dari analisis regresi menunjukan bahwa dengan bertambahnya upaya penangkapan teryata dapat menurunkan nilai CPUE.Scad mackerel (Decapterus russelli) is an essential economic commodity in the northern waters of Central Java. For the management to be carried out properly, information on the season of the fishing and resource abundance is needed to investigate. The data were obtained by interview method, and data on the catch of scad mackerel for the period 2015 – 2020 was obtained from PPN Pekalongan and PPP Bajomulyo Pati. The results showed that scad mackerel based on the fishing season index (IMP) was abundant from July to November. The yearly CPUE value fluctuated, and a significant increase in CPUE occurred in 2020. Using regression analysis resulted from increasing fishing effort give effected to decreasing CPUE.

Abstract

Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) memiliki ekosistem mangrove yang luas yang berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata. Salah satunya yaitu kawasan mangrove yang ada di sepanjang pesisir Desa Aeramo dan Desa Marapokot, Kecamatan Aesesa, Kabupaten Nagekeo, NTT yang belum terkelola dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis kesesuaian dan daya dukung kawasan mangrove untuk kegiatan ekowisata. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September 2021 di kawasan mangrove Kecamatan Aesesa, yaitu di Desa Marapokot dan Aeramo. Terdapat lima parameter kesesuaian sumber daya yang diukur, yaitu ketebalan mangrove, kerapatan mangrove, jenis mangrove, pasang surut, dan objek biota. Kawasan mangrove di Marapokot belum sesuai untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai kawasan ekowisata karena ketebalan mangrove yang rendah. Sementara kawasan mangrove di Aeramo belum sesuai untuk kegiatan ekowisata karena jenis mangrove yang tumbuh bernilai rendah. Potensi daya dukung kawasan mangrove untuk kegiatan ekowisata Marapokot 840 orang/hari, sedangkan di Aeramo 764 orang/hari, yang terdiri atas empat trip setiap harinya. Pengembangan ekosistem mangrove untuk menjadi kawasan ekowisata sangat membutuhkan perhatian khusus dari masyarakat setempat dan pemerintah daerah.

Abstract

Ikan kembung lelaki merupakan salah satu jenis ikan pelagis kecil yang memiliki nilai ekologis dan ekonomis yang didaratkan di PPP Labuan, Pandeglang-Banten Tingginya aktivitas penangkapan terhadap ikan kembung lelaki membuat perlunya pengetahuan mengenai aspek pertumbuhan ikan tersebut di antaranya yaitu pola pertumbuhan dan distribusinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 12 bulan dari bulan Oktober 2015 hingga September 2016 dari hasil tangkapan yang didaratkan di PPP Labuan, Banten. Pola pertumbuhan ikan kembung lelaki dihitung dengan menghubungkan pertumbuhan panjang dan pertambahan bobot. Pola pertumbuhan ikan kembung lelaki jantan adalah W = 4E-05L2,754 dengan nilai R2 sebesar 92,4%. Pola pertumbuhan ikan kembung lelaki betina selama satu tahun adalah W = 7E-05L2,668 dengan nilai R2 sebesar 93,2%. Sedangkan, pola pertumbuhan ikan kembung lelaki gabungan (jantan dan betina) adalah W = 5E-05L2,724 dengan nilai R2 sebesar 92,8%. Pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif pada bulan Oktober sampai Februari, April dan Agustus menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan panjang lebih cepat daripada bobot. Pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif pada bulan Mei dan Juni artinya pertumbuhan bobot lebih cepat daripada pertumbuhan panjang. Sementara pola pertumbuhan isometrik yang terjadi pada bulan Maret dan Juli menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan antara panjang dan bobot yaitu seimbang.

Abstract

The fishery resources found in the waters of the Bali Strait are very high from small pelagic to large pelagic fish. The abundance of fishery resources in these waters makes fishermen choose the type of catch to be taken. The types of catches obtained by fishermen vary, this is influenced by the fishing gear used, one of which is handline fishing gear. This research was conducted from May to June 2021. Primary data collection was carried out by purposive sampling method. Researchers participate in fishing activities directly. From the results of the unloading activities of the catches of four fishing boats, the main types of catches on the ulur fishing boats are kenyar (Sarda orientalis), banyar cobs (Euthynnus affinis), and layur (Trichiurus lepturus).  Bycatch obtained from four fishing boats, there are seven types of fish, namely Lanjaman Shark (Carcharhinus falciformis), Squid (Loligo sp), Manta Ray (Mobula birostris), Blue Kite (Decapterus macarellus), Slengseng (Scomber australasicus), Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacares), and Marlin Black (Istiompax indica).

Abstract

Cakalang merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan ekspor Indonesia yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Salah satu perairan Indonesia yang menghasilkan ikan Cakalang adalah Kawasan Indonesia Timur (KIT). Salah satu KIT yang menghasilkan ikan cakalang adalah perairan Maumere. Nelayan Maumere biasa menggunakan alat penangkap ikan jenis pancing untuk menangkap cakalang. Pancing yang digunakan adalah jenis pole and line (huhate) yang memiliki konstruksi sederhana terdiri dari Joran/bambu, benang, dan mata pancing. Walaupun alat tangkap ini memiliki konstruksi sederhana namun dapat menangkap ikan dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi. Hal tersebut yang melatarbelakangi dilakukannya pengamatan terhadap pengoperasian alat penangkap ikan jenis pole and line. Pengambilan data secara langsung dengan mengikuti kegiatan pengoperasian alat tangkap dan melakukan wawancara terhadap nelayan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lapang, diketahui bahawasanya di Maumere nelayan menggunakan alat yang terdiri dari joran, tali kelapa, tali utama, tali sekunder, tasi, timah pemberat, pembungkus timah, cincin, tali rapia, bulu ayam dan mata pancing. Kapal yang digunakan dilengkapi dengan flying deck sebagai tempat para pemancing. Operasi penangkapan ikan diawali dengan persiapan perbekalan melaut. Pengambilan umpan di nelayan bagan dan pemancingan ikan cakalang. Ikan yang tertangkap akan dibersihkan dengan disiram air laut dan disimpan di palka dengan diselimuti es balok untuk menjaga kualitas ikan hasil tangkapan.

Abstract

 Climate change caused by various activities of human activity has produced carbon dioxide gas affecting global warming. Seagrass ecosystem has the ability to absorb and store large quantities of carbon that can reduce carbon emissions. Objectives of this study is to assess seagrass population structure, assess carbon deposits estimation and water quality parameters. The method used in this research is purposive sampling method and location determination used line Transect quadrant method which refers to LIPI method. Carbon measurements in seagrass samples used LOI method. Seagrass species found in the waters of Baluran National Park are Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Cymodocea serrulata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila minor, Halophila ovalis dan Halodule uninervis. The seagrass Enhalus acoroides has a highest biomass value and an estimate of carbon deposits 37.817 gC/m2. The total estimate of the highest carbon stock is obtained at the bottom of the substrate 40.063 ton.  Perubahan iklim yang disebabkan oleh berbagai aktifitas kegiatan manusia menghasilkan gas karbon diokasida yang berdampak pada pemanasan global. Ekosistem padang lamun memiliki kemampuan untuk menyerap dan menyimpan karbon dalam jumlah besar yang dapat mengurangi emisi karbon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) mengkaji struktur populasi lamun, 2) mengkaji estimasi simpanan karbon, 3) mengkaji parameter kualitas air di Taman Nasional Baluran. Metode yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling method dan penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode line transect quadrant yang mengacu pada metode LIPI. Pengukuran kualitas air dilakukan secara langsung di lapangan sesuai Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) dan pengukuran karbon pada sampel lamun menggunakan metode LOI. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa Spesies lamun yang ditemukan di perairain Taman Nasional Baluran adalah Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Cymodocea serrulata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila minor, Halophila ovalis dan Halodule uninervis. Jenis lamun Enhalus acoroides mempunyai nilai biomassa dan estimasi simpanan karbon paling tinggi yaitu 37,817 gC/m2. Estimasi total stok karbon tertinggi didapatkan pada bagian bawah substrat (rhizoma dan akar) sebesar 40,063 ton.

Abstract

Bali Strait included in the 573 Fisheries Management Area of Indonesia. One of the dominant commodities in these waters were Bali sardine (Sardinella lemuru). The dynamics of the lemuru fishery in the Bali Strait is fluctuating and tends to decrease. This study aims to determine the sustainability status of the ecological dimensions in the fisheries management of Bali sardine in the Bali Strait. Survey method were used in this study to obtain primary and secondary data related to ecological dimension attributes and then analyzed using the RAPFISH (Rapid Apraisal Technique for Fisheries) method. The results of this study indicate that the ecological dimension of lemuru fishery management in the Bali Strait has an index of 44.03 (less sustainable). There are three sensitive attributes that affect the sustainability of the ecological dimension, there were the level of utilization of fish resources, size of fish caught, and the number of catches. The recommended improvements for the sustainability of the ecological dimension were limiting fishing quotas, limiting the mesh size of fishing gear, and limiting areas and fishing seasons.

Abstract

Squid is one of the non-fish resources that have economic value and is a target species in demersal fisheries activities with squid fishing gear and stick-held deep net. This research aims to determine the biological aspects of squid (Loligo edulis) such as length frequency distribution, length-weight relationship, sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index, size at first caught, and size at first maturity of the gonads. The method used in this research was a descriptive survey. The sample collection method used systematic random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. This observation was carried out on March 7 to July 30, 2022, at the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port and Tanjung Balai Port. The results showed that the average length distribution of squid was 17.73 cm. The relationship between the length and weight of squid is negative allometric. The sex ratio is 1:1.05. The negative allometric growth pattern is dominated by Gonadal Maturity Level (GML) I and GML II. The highest GML value for male squid was 2.06% at GML III, and the highest GML value for female squid was 1.92% at GML III. The average size of the caught squid length (Lc) is 10.42 cm. The size of the first gonad maturity (Lc) was 13.32 cm.Keywords:SquidBiological aspectsFisheries aspectManagement effort

Abstract

ABSTRACTKepiting bakau (Scylla spp.) merupakan salah satu komoditas sumberdaya perikanan yang potensial untuk dikembangkan karena memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Kawasan mangrove di Golo Sepang merupakan penghasil kepiting bakau terbesar di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis distribusi dan pola pertumbuhan kepiting bakau (Scylla spp.) di perairan Golo Sepang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Sampel kepiting bakau diambil pada bulan Maret–Mei 2022 di lokasi yang biasa digunakan nelayan untuk menangkap kepiting bakau dengan menggunakan alat tangkap bubu lipat. Terdapat tiga spesies kepiting bakau dari total 870 individu yang diukur, yaitu S. serrata, S. paramamosain, dan S. olivicea. Sebaran kelimpahan kepiting bakau lebih banyak terdapat di area yang suhu dan salinitasnya lebih tinggi. Pertumbuhan kepiting bakau jenis S. serrata di lokasi penelitian memiliki pola isometrik sedangkan S. paramamosain dan S. olivacea memiliki pola alometrik positif. Pertumbuhan kepiting jantan lebih cepat dan lebih besar daripada pertumbuhan kepiting betina.Kata kunci: Distribusi, kepiting bakau, mangrove, pertumbuhan, salinitasABSTRACTMud crab (Scylla spp.) is one of the potential fishery commodities to be developed due to its high economic value. The mangrove area in Golo Sepang Waters is the largest producer of mangrove crabs in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara. This study was conducted to analyze the distribution and growth pattern of mud crabs (Scylla spp.) in Golo Sepang, East Nusa Tenggara. Mud crab samples were captured in March – May 2022 at the sites regularly used by fishermen to catch the crabs using folded traps (bubu). A total of 870 measured samples consisting of three species of mud crabs: S. serrata, S. paramamosain, and S. olivicea. The distribution pattern of mud crabs at the study location as per salinity and temperature patterns. The growth of S. serrata at the study site had an isometric pattern while S. paramamosain and S. olivacea had a positive allometric pattern. The growth of male crabs is faster and bigger than the growth of female crabs.Keywords: Distribution, mud crab, mangrove, growth, salinity
