Users’ Satisfaction in Using the Central Library of IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin Hajiri, Muhammad Isra

Abstract

Library as one of the public services attempts to give the users satisfaction, especially in providing the documents and information. Users’ satisfaction is highly dependent on the quality of a product. Library product is the collection and service provided. The study aims to find out the users’ satisfaction toward the collection and the services of UPT of Library Center of IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The method used in the study was descriptive with quantitative approach. The sampling used Taro Yamane theory with the precision degree of 10. There were 99 respondents consist of 95 students, 4 lectures and staffs, and 1 person outside university. The result showed that the library users’ satisfaction on the completeness of collection in the central library of IAIN Antasari is in quite satisfied category since the average score is 3.22 which is on the interval scale of 2.62-3.42. Users’ satisfaction on the current collection is 3.25. Therefore, it can be concluded that the users’ satisfaction on the current collection is on the interval scale of 2.62-3.42 which is in the scale of quite satisfied. Library users’ satisfaction on the librarian service is quite satisfied since the average score of the respondent satisfaction is 3.43 which is in the interval scale of 3.43-4.23. The average score of users’ satisfaction on the service facility of the library is 3.53, so it can be concluded that the library users’ satisfaction on the service facility in the central library of IAIN Antasari is on the interval scale of 3.43-4.23 which is quite satisfied. The total average score of library users’ satisfaction on the collection and service in the central library of IAIN Antasari is 3.42 which is in the quite satisfied category.

Abstract

Experts believe that the success of education is closely related to the existence of technology that is adopted into the learning process. The reseachers examined many scientific reports highlighting online learning approaches before the Covid-19 issue hit education to prove this belief. The researchers look for evidence of literature studies from international studies that have succeeded in sounding out educational operations by optimizing technology as a face-to-face companion learning method when students study in class. The data retrieval method is carried out with electronic assistance systems on databases of publication journals such as ERIC, Google Books, Taylor & France, and Sagepub. Next, reseachers analyzed the data using a review system that started with coding and in-depth evaluation techniques and concluded data findings that fairly and accurately answered the research questions. Based on the discussion of the data found, researchers report that online learning activities before the pandemic can help students become successful learners both in the classroom and outside of school. This is highly valid because of evidence from previous literature reviews where online learning is juxtaposed with successful blended learning approaches. Online learning helps students get additional self-study content. Because with online learning, students become more practical, enjoyable, personal, controlled, easy, efficient, focused, and measurable. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi (information seeking behaviour) guru besar IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin meliputi: bagaimana gambaran kebutuhan informasi para guru besar, sumber informasi yang mereka gunakan, kendala-kendala yang sering dihadapi dalam pencarian informasi tersebut dan bagaimana cara mereka mengatasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan informasi para guru besar IAIN Antasari adalah yang berkaitan dengan tugas mereka sebagai dosen yang melaksanakan tridharma perguruan tinggi, yaitu: pendidikan, penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Selain itu, mereka sebagai guru besar juga memiliki kewajiban khusus meliputi menyebarluaskan gagasan, menghasilkan karya ilmiah dan menulis buku dalam waktu tiga tahun. Sumber informasi yang mereka gunakan sebagai rujukan adalah: buku/kitab milik pribadi, perpustakaan, toko buku, koran dan televisi, internet, jurnal, ebook, sosial media. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi para guru besar IAIN Antasari adalah terutama dalam hal mengakses jurnal-jurnal online. Untuk mengatasinya mereka meminta bantuan kepada orang-orang terdekat, seperti keluarga, teman dan anak buah. Kata kunci: perilaku pencarian informasi, guru besar

Abstract

 AbstrakEksistensi pustakawan di era digital menjadi sesuatu yang dipertanyakan. Apakah peran pustakawan masih diperlukan saat ini? Tulisan ini berupaya untuk menyajikan hal-hal yang perlu dilakukan oleh pustakawan untuk mempertahankan eksistensinya. Perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi, terutama dalam hal penggunaan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) harus diantisipasi dan diadaptasi oleh pustakawan. Hal yang dapat dilakukan oleh pustakawan adalah: 1) menguasai kegiatan-kegiatan kepustakawanan, 2) melakukan need assessment, 3) menyesuaikan diri dengan perubahan, 4) terus membuat program yang inovatif, dan 5) tidak melupakan sisi kemanusiaan. Kata kunci: eksistensi, pustakawan, era digital

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perpustakaan yang paling menonjol pada masa Islam klasik berdasarkan sejarah Islam. Islam pada zaman keemasannya pernah menjadi peradaban yang paling maju di dunia. Penelitian berjenis kualitatif deskriptif di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teori yang dipakai menggunakan prinsip perpustakaan (Library low) berdasarkan Ranganathan. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles & Huberman, yaitu dengan melakukan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Naskah revitalisasi perpustakaan yang paling menonjol pada masa Islam klasik yaitu Perpustakaan Bayt al-Hikmah di Bagdad, Perpustakaan Universitas Cordoba, dan Perpustakaan Dar al-Hikmah di Kairo. Ketiga universitas tersebut mendapat dukungan yang sangat besar dari pemerintahnya dalam menjalankan peran dan fungsinya mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan di masa itu. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan perpustakaan Islam memiliki peran dan fungsi yang dapat diadaptasi di perguruan tinggi meliputi pusat pengkajian dan penelitian, pusat pertemuan ilmiah dan pusat penerjamahan buku asing.

Abstract

Introduction. Libraries, as centers of intellectual resources and information, have the potential to become environments that support collaborative learning. This research aims to describe the role of the school libraries in supporting collaborative learning. Data collection methods. This study was qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research was conducted in three high school libraries in South Kalimantan Province, namely: School A, School B, and School C. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data were subsequently analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman. Results and Discussion. School libraries currently contribute to collaborative learning by providing spaces and facilities for group work and activities. However, it showed the limited quantity of resources, including computers and internet bandwidth so no all students can leverage optimally. The space is equivalent to a classroom, however, it is inadequate for a larger audience. Conclusion and suggestions. The role of the school libraries in this research has not been optimal in facilitating and supporting collaborative learning in the schools. The library can make plans to address this gradually, particularly in terms of preparing supporting infrastructure.
