Abstract

Small and Medium Furniture Industry is one of the leading commodities of Kendal Regency and has important role in regional economy. Furniture IKM, which was only focused onproducts, must now change its strategy to focus on customers and implement modern management and be able to build relationships with customers. Consumers need more than just the value offered and have unique needs so companies need to think about creating marketing concepts that not only rely on the company's internal capabilities, but also involve consumer feelings. Maintaining good relation swith customers and increasing their loyalty through the development and fulfillment of customer needs is one of IKM furniture strategies in developing business. From the description, the author took the initiative to help design an information system based on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as an industry 4.0 technology to digitize marketing, especially for managing customers. The implementation of CRM-based information systems starts from collecting data, then analyze business processes, and using case diagrams. The next step is to implement a CRM system using Microsoft Excel VBA. Finally analyze and evaluate CRM implementations in Furniture IKM. From this research we get a CRM system that is suitable for furniture IKM business processes.

Abstract

Workshop yang berada di Politeknik Industri Furnitur dan Pengolahan Kayu merupakan tempat dengan beragam alat manual, mesin, dan bahan furnitur yang digunakan untuk pembelajaran membuat furnitur. Kondisi di dalam workshop sangat padat karena setiap harinya terdapat mahasiswa yang praktikum, membuat tugas akhir, dan pembuatan produk sesuai orderan yang masuk. Untuk memberikan output yang optimal diperlukan kondisi workshop yang mendukung kinerja bagi penggunanya. Selama kurang lebih empat tahun beroperasi, belum ada analisis terhadap pelayanan workshop kepada konsumen (pengguna). Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini akan berfokus pada nilai kepuasan konsumen pada pelayanan di workshop Politeknik IFPK. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan data primer yaitu membagikan kuisoner. Kuisinoner tersebut dibuat dengan dasar dimensi pelayanan antara lain tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, dan emphaty. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan SPSS statistic 24 untuk mencari uji validitas dan reliabilitas, uji normalitas Kolmogorov Smirnov, uji multikolinieritas dan uji regresi liner berganda. Dari pengujian data menggunakan SPSS 24, hasil uji validitas dan reabilitas menyatakan  bahwa kuisoner sudah valid dan sudah mempunyai konsistensi untuk dibagikan ke responden. Uji Normalitas menunjukkan data telah terdistribusi normal. Uji multikoliniertias menunjukan bahwa tidak interkorelasi antara variable bebas di dalam model regresi. Uji regresi liner berganda menyimpulkan bahwa keseluruhan variabel bebas sebesar 92,8% berpengaruh pada kepuasan pelanggan terhadap pelayanan di workshop Politeknik IFPK.Kata Kunci : Kepuasan Mahasiswa, Kualitas Pelayanan

Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the era of globalization has led to significant advancements, with information systems being one of the innovations that facilitate information management. PT. X, a manufacturing company in the furniture sector, faced specific challenges in managing personnel administration, such as data input errors and payroll delays due to the use of conventional methods like Microsoft Excel. This resulted in inefficiencies and errors that affected the company's operations. This research designed an employee data management information system at PT. X with the aim of creating an effective and efficient system to assist administrators in processing employee data. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method was used in the development of this system. The resulting application can be used by the HR department as administrators and by employees as users. The implementation results show that the new system effectively addresses the existing issues, with significant improvements such as reducing data input errors and increasing the speed of payroll processing compared to the previous method. From the user questionnaire results, both system quality and interface design received positive feedback, and the information system can be successfully applied at PT. X.

Abstract

The furniture industry in Central Java still faces various challenges, especially in adopting advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0. Many furniture SMEs still rely on manual or semi-manual production methods, which result in suboptimal product quality and production efficiency, making it difficult to compete in the global market. To address these challenges, the Community Service Program carried out by the Furniture Industry Business Management Study Program at Polytechnic of Furniture Industry and Wood Processing actively played a role through the Training of Trainers activity. This program aims to provide intensive training on the implementation of IoT and Industry 4.0 technologies to furniture SMEs in Central Java, focusing on developing practical skills and fostering digital transformation. Training of Trainers training involved Furniture Industry Business Management lecturers who possess specialized expertise in Industry 4.0 technologies. The training covered both theoretical and practical aspects, allowing participants to not only understand the concepts but also implement them in their work environments. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in the participants' understanding and skills in applying Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things technologies. A tangible example of the success of this training is PT. AST Indonesia, which successfully implemented Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things technologies in its production processes after participating in the Training of Trainers program. This success is concrete evidence that the training provided by Furniture Industry Business Management can contribute significantly to enhancing the competitiveness of furniture SMEs in the digital era, in line with the vision of "Making Indonesia 4.0.

Abstract

Smith Cabinet merupakan produk dari CV Vina Arya Furniture yang cukup banyak diproduksi. Pada proses produksi, umumnya terdapat defect produk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa defect pada produk Smith cabinet menggunakan diagram sebab akibat dan menyusun rencana perbaikan menggunakan analisis 5W+1H dalam rangka mengatasi defect pada produk Smith cabinet. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Dalam mengolah data, penulis menggunakan tiga instrumen pengendalian kualitas yaitu Check Sheet, Pareto Diagram, dan Fishbone Diagram. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, ditemukan defect berupa kaki tidak presisi, warna tidak sesuai pesanan, gap pintu terlalu lebar, pintu terlalu masuk, pintu terlalu keluar, dan daun pintu tidak presisi. Hasil analisis Pareto Diagram, didapatkan tiga defect yang menjadi prioritas untuk dilakukan analisis akar penyebab dan solusinya, yaitu defect kaki tidak presisi, warna tidak sesuai, gap pintu terlalu lebar. Hasil analisis menggunakan Fishbone Diagram dan 5W+1H, diketahui akar penyebab kedua defect berasal dari faktor metode, manusia, dan lingkungan, dimana solusi yang dapat dilakukan perusahaan adalah terkait dengan manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) untuk mengurangi kesalahan pengerjaan produk dari segi pegawai dan prosedur, serta peningkatan infrastruktur dan fasilitas pada area kerja untuk mengurangi kesalahan pengerjaan produk yang diakibatkan oleh faktor lingkungan sekitar.

Abstract

The furniture industry provides a fairly high foreign exchange where the industry is labor-intensive with a high export value. During 2022, its export value reached 3.5 billion USD and 1.3% of Indonesia's total export performance in 2022. However, this value fell by 8.04% from last year due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and the global economic downturn. Therefore, to support marketing strategies and improve export performance, the Furniture Industry Business Management (MBIF) study program conducts branding and merchandising training. This community service activity (PKM) is carried out in the form of lectures and practices. The material presented in the form of basic furniture for the development of small and medium industries, branding concepts, branding strategies, digital marketing and merchandising Practices. For evaluation using pre-test, post-test and the results of branding or merchandising uploaded on social media. This training is expected to improve the understanding of branding and merchandising and implement it into its export marketing strategy. So that the export performance of the furniture industry in Jepara can rise in 2023.

Abstract

The furniture industry plays a crucial role in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector, which contributed 18.98% to the national GDP in 2024 with a growth rate of 4.43%. However, increasing market demand and product variety have created significant challenges in achieving efficient and timely production scheduling. Inefficient manual scheduling processes have been shown to cause substantial delays, with approximately 31% of production orders experiencing lateness due to poor scheduling and machine utilization. This study aims to design and implement a Decision Support System (DSS) based on the Weighted Product (WP) method to objectively determine production scheduling priorities using order quantity, processing time, and profit value as key criteria. The DSS was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Office Access 2016, utilizing secondary data from a furniture manufacturing company. Validation results show that the DSS achieved a 99.998% accuracy rate compared to manual Excel calculations, indicating correct implementation of the WP computational algorithm. The system effectively enhances production planning by providing objective, data-driven scheduling recommendations, reducing delays, optimizing resource utilization, and improving operational efficiency. Overall, the DSS serves as an effective managerial tool to support decision-making consistency and competitiveness in the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Politeknik XYZ merupakan perguruan tinggi yang berfokus pada kompetensi di bidang perkayuan. Salah satu kompetensi dari lulusan yaitu memiliki pengalaman dalam membuat produk furniture dari kayu. Pembuatan produk furnitur salah satunya terimplementasi pada praktikum mata kuliah “A” berupa kursi ruji. Berdasarkan observasi ditemukan banyak defect pada kursi ruji. Terjadinya tingginya defect mengindikasikan bahwa adanya masalah pada proses produksinya yang berarti pada pembelajaran selama praktikum masih diperlukan perbaikan. Oleh karena itu penulis melakukan penelitian pengendalian kualitas pada kursi ruji untuk menemukan tahapan proses produksi yang perlu diperbaiki. Diharapakan setelah diketahui tahapan proses yang berpengaruh akan dapat ditemukan solusi perbaikannya. Metode yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian yaitu kualitatif dengan analisis pengendalian kualitas FMEA dan FTA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 3 proses yang berpengaruh tinggi pada terjadinya defect yaitu tahap kontruksi, tahap pembuatan profil, dan tahap assembling. Usulan perbaikan yang ditawarkan penulis antara lain: kesepemahaman antar tim pengajar dalam memberikan teknik pengerjaan kursi ruji, memberikan pendampingan yang optimal dan pro aktif saat mahasiswa melangsungkan praktikum, pengawasan terhadap mahasiswa agar mahasiswa bisa fokus dalam pengerjaan, dan menyediakan sarpras dan bahan praktikum yang mencukupi dan memadai untuk menunjang praktikum.
