This study emphasizes the urgency of enhancing the educational system and implementing preventive measures for child protection. Additionally, it shows that a lack of parental attention to child development is the root cause of many conflicts and acts of violence affecting children in Indonesia. Furthermore, the learning process at educational institutions often fails to maximize moral principles rooted in Islamic education. Through a review of national laws, international human rights treaties, and current research on education and child protection in Indonesia, this study adopts a qualitative approach. Therefore, effective prevention and intervention strategies are necessary to resolve conflicts and violence. The study highlights that achieving a preventive strategy requires strengthening a human rights-based curriculum, improving teachers' competence in child rights education, and establishing accessible, responsive reporting and monitoring systems. It is also vital to understand that these factors collectively have the potential to eliminate various forms of violence and protect children.

Abstract

This study examines how spirituality influences work behavior among civil servants in the Regional Offices of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The study’s novel contribution lies in extending TPB by conceptualizing spirituality as a moral–evaluative belief that shapes compliance intention within a value-based bureaucratic context. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from civil servants across several organizational units. Work behavior is assessed through the Ministry’s Five Core Work Values: integrity, professionalism, innovation, responsibility, and exemplary conduct. The findings reveal that spirituality does not directly influence work behavior; its effect operates entirely through compliance intention as a mediating mechanism. These results demonstrate that spiritually grounded beliefs function as an antecedent of intentional compliance rather than immediate behavioral action. Strengthening employees’ spiritual meaning-making therefore becomes a strategic pathway for public institutions to reinforce ethical commitment and sustain value-consistent performance among civil servants.

Abstract

Children’s learning concentration is a critical determinant of success in Qur’anic memorization (tahfiz), yet limited research has examined the cognitive mechanisms underlying concentration in this unique educational context. This research investigates tahfiz teacher strategies for enhancing children’s learning concentration from the perspective of cognitive psychology and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) theory. Employing a qualitative, multi-site case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with tahfiz teachers (n = 8) at two institutions, participant observations over six months, and document analysis. Findings reveal four primary strategy domains: (1) attentional control strategies—including session segmentation, multisensory engagement, and environmental optimization; (2) working memory support strategies—including chunking, scaffolded repetition, and auditory–verbal rehearsal; (3) motivational regulation strategies—including intrinsic value cultivation, goal setting, progress monitoring, and social motivation; and (4) metacognitive development strategies—including self-monitoring training, reflective practice, and adaptive strategy use. The findings contribute to educational psychology by demonstrating how SRL principles operate in non-Western, memorization-based educational settings and by identifying practical, evidence-informed strategies for enhancing children’s concentration during cognitively demanding tasks.
