Abstract

Abstract

Plagiarism detection in academic assignments remains a critical challenge in maintaining academic integrity in higher education. This study proposes an automated method to detect content similarity between student assignment documents by combining Jaccard Similarity and DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) algorithms. The process begins with the collection of student assignment files in digital format, followed by text extraction to form a set-based representation of each document. Jaccard Similarity is then used to compute the degree of similarity between every document pair, and the resulting similarity matrix is transformed into a distance matrix as input for DBSCAN. Experiments conducted on 23 documents yielded 253 unique document pairs. The results demonstrate that the method successfully identified pairs with high similarity scores—such as 0.9114 and 0.7226—which were visually confirmed through a heatmap and effectively grouped into clusters by DBSCAN. Parameter settings of eps = 0.3 and min_samples = 1 proved optimal for distinguishing original documents from those exhibiting substantial content overlap. This approach is not only accurate and efficient, but also eliminates the need for predefined cluster numbers, making it suitable for deployment in automated plagiarism detection systems for academic texts.

Abstract

Abstract

The process of controlling irrigation doors in fishponds is still mostly done manually, this results in the performance of farmers being less effective and efficient. Current technological developments, especially in the field of IoT, can be used to design a simulation that is able to control irrigation gates automatically. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the ATmega16-based automatic irrigation gate simulation tool can work well according to the designed working principle. If the condition of fishpond water is less than the ideal height of the fishpond and the condition of river water is more than the height of the fishpond, the motor will move to "open" the irrigation door to fill fishpond water. If the fishpond water condition is more than the ideal height and the river water condition is less than the fishpond height, the motor will move to "open" the irrigation door to discharge fishpond water and if the river water condition is the same as the fishpond water condition, the motor will move "close” the irrigation door so that the ideal height of the fishpond can be achieved. There are certain conditions to control the door manually using the SMS Gateway. Information about the maximum or minimum fishpond water level will be displayed on the LCD to determine the maximum or minimum fishpond height using Keypad.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the readiness of high school students in facing higher education challenges through capacity building on public speaking, data analysis, and digital financial management. The transition toward Society 5.0 demands students to possess strong communication skills, data literacy, and the ability to manage digital-based finance responsibly. The training was conducted through interactive lectures, hands-on practices, simulations, and mentoring sessions involving high school students. Results show an increase in students’ confidence in public speaking, improvement in basic data-analysis skills using digital tools, and better understanding of digital financial planning. This training has succeeded in providing practical knowledge and strengthening students’ readiness to continue to the university level. Future programs are expected to expand similar training to broader schools and integrate more advanced modules.
