Abstract:The aim of this research is to define the patterns of athlete student’s academic procrastination behaviorsin accomplishing their final projects. This research used qualitative approach with ethnographic and phenomenology design. The population of this research was athlete students of Faculty of Sports Science from classes of 2010, 2011, and 2012 whowere in the process of completingtheir final projects. They were selected through purposive random sampling. The results reveal various patterns of athlete student’s academic procrastination behaviors. Six patterns emerge from the data 1) Traveling, 2) Only lying on the bed and watching TV in boarding house, 3) Talking about something unimportant, 4) Going home, 5) Doing physical activities, and 6) Having jobs like coach and referee. These procrastination behaviors formspecific patterns based on student’sexperience and background. Abstract

The speed of the mawashigeri jodan kick is an important factor for athletes who excel because it can produce high points. This study aims to determine which training method is more effective between training using resistance bands and ankle weights on the speed of the mawashigeri jodan kick in Inkai athletes in Semarang City. The research sample consisted of 30 athletes aged 11-14 years, who were then divided into 2 groups with the A-B-B-A technique, namely the resistance band group and the ankle weight group. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research instrument was a measurement of the mawashigeri jodan kick for 30 seconds. The results showed that training with resistance bands provided an average increase of 27.64%, higher than training using ankle weights, which only reached an average of 25.94%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between arm muscle stamina and visual-motor alignment with lower passing skills for male members of extra volleyball activities at SMAN 1 Karangdowo, Klaten. This study utilized a survey method using a correlational quantitative approach. The research subjects involved 20 male students who actively participated in volleyball extracurricular training. Measurements were taken using three instruments: first, the push and pull dynamometer test to assess arm muscle strength; second, the hand-eye coordination test was conducted through throwing and catching tennis balls; and third, the Brumbach Forearms Pass Wall-Volley test was used to calculate lower passing skills. The findings of this study showed a significant correlation between the two physical variables and students' lower passing performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and compare the effects of interval training and circuit training on the physical fitness improvement of Taekwondo athletes aged 9 to 13 years in Batang Regency. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest group design. Subjects were divided into two treatment groups, each undergoing a structured training program consisting of 12 sessions over a period of 4 weeks. The training focused on enhancing physical fitness, measured using the bleep test which covers endurance, strength, agility, and aerobic capacity. The results showed that the interval training group experienced an average improvement of approximately 31.1%, while the circuit training group showed a higher increase of around 35.5%. The paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results in both groups (t count > t table). However, the circuit training group demonstrated slightly higher t values and percentage gains than the interval group, suggesting that while both methods are effective, circuit training may offer a more optimal approach to improving physical fitness in young athletes. This research is expected to serve as a valuable reference for coaches and trainers in selecting appropriate training methods, and to help athletes better understand the importance of structured physical fitness development.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is an influence of Tai Chi Quan training on the performance of Indonesia's junior table tennis athletes. A total of 20 Indonesia junior table tennis athletes aged 14-18 years were put into an experimental group with taichiquan training. The group that received Tai Chi Quan training was trained for 60 minutes, while the control group continued to practice table tennis as usual. Changes in body conditions such as blood pressure, heart rate, changes in anxiety, feelings of confidence, and performance in playing table tennis are measured before and after training. The results of this study were that there was a change in anxiety level at the test point in the tai chi quan group after exercise, while in the control group there was no increase. There were changes that occurred after the exercise treatment, namely cognitive anxiety (x=-1.85; -18.60%), while in the control group (x=- 0.21; -2.31%). In addition, somatic anxiety (x=-3.35; -27.56%). The self-confidence component was negatively correlated with other variables, where in the tai chi quan group the value increased (x=1.96; 11.27%) while in the control group it decreased (x=-0.27; -1.67%). The conclusion of this study is that sixty minutes of tai chi quan training can reduce the anxiety level of Indonesia's junior table tennis athletes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the use of resistance bands in futsal training, particularly concerning shooting accuracy among female high school players, despite the critical importance of mastering accurate shooting techniques to support team performance. The aim of this study is to measure the effect of resistance band training on the shooting accuracy of female futsal extracurricular players at SMAN 1 Mayong, Jepara Regency. A quantitative method with an experimental approach was used, employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 16 female futsal extracurricular members selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through shooting skill tests conducted before and after the treatment, using an instrument that assessed accuracy scores from four shots. Data analysis was performed using the paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results show a significant increase in shooting accuracy scores following resistance band training, indicating a positive effect on shot precision. These findings support the theory that resistance training is an effective method for improving lower limb strength and movement precision. The main conclusion of this study is that the use of resistance bands in futsal training programs can significantly enhance shooting accuracy among female players. The implications of this research include theoretical contributions to the literature on physical training in futsal, as well as practical recommendations for coaches and physical education teachers in designing more effective training methods to improve shooting technique performance. This study also opens opportunities for further research on resistance band training variations for other futsal skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a game circuit training product as a solution to enhance students' interest and enjoyment in physical education learning. This initiative is motivated by the lack of enthusiasm among students in participating in lessons, which is attributed to the delivery of material that is less engaging and monotonous. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 01 Sima, Pemalang Regency, utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg & Gall model. This research methodology aims to produce a specific product as an innovation to address existing problems. The steps taken in this research include (1) initial information gathering, (2) planning, (3) initial product creation, (4) expert validation, (5) product revision, (6) small-scale trials, (7) product revision, (8) large-scale trials, and (9) final product. The validation results from game and learning experts indicate that this model is highly feasible, with an average validation score of 3.44 from game experts and 3.24 from learning experts, both falling into the category of highly feasible. Furthermore, small-scale field trials at SD Negeri 01 Sima showed an average feasibility score of 59% across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective aspects. Meanwhile, large-scale trials yielded an average score of 80%, indicating that the game circuit training development model is effective in physical education learning for enhancing students' physical abilities, particularly agility and endurance. The game circuit training is deemed effective and suitable as an innovative method to improve the quality of physical education learning in elementary schools.
