Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of fermented sago pulp alternative feed on local sheep male weaning. Research conducted at Karang Rejo village farm, Stabat district, Langkat. This study in Maret 2016-Juny 2017. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD), with four treatments five replications. Each repeat consists of one local sheep male weaning with the average of body weight 8-10 kg. The treatment consisted of P1(consentrat with 50% sago pulp without fermented + forage), P2 (consentrat with 60% sago pulp without fermented + forage), P3 (consentrat with 50% sago pulp fermented + forage), and P4 (consentrat with 60% sago pulp fermented + forage). The variable were studied dry matter consumption, organic matter consumption, dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility. Results of analysis of variance show that the utilization of fermented sago pulp waste had highly significantly different effect (P<0,01) on dry matter consumption of treatment P1, P2, P3 and P4 is 486,38; 548,68; 604,69;and 671,11 (gr/head/day), and organic matter consumption is 469,34; 525,22; 582,42 and 644,40 (gr/head/day). And average of dry matter digestibility waste not significantly different effect (P>0,05) on value dry matter digestibility of treatment P1, P2, P3 and P4 is 79,04; 79,23; 78,59 and 78,23 (%), average of organic matter digestibility is 81,66; 81,43; 80,79 and 80,27 (%). Increasing use of fermented pulp sago increases the value of dry matter consumption and organic matter consumption in local sheep feed. Conclusions of fermented sago pulp can not to increase dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility, but fermented and non-fermented sago pulp can be given to sheep male weaning up to 60%, because the digestibility value of the two ingredients is above 70%.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the people’s farm in Pangururan subdistrict, Samosir district. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the reduction rate of Panorusan goat population. The method used was multiple linier regression analysis with variabel limitations, i.e. animal feed quality, quantity of field grass, and goat sales to other areas. This research was conducted by asking directly to the breeder and giving a randomly selected questionnaire. The total of 55 goat breeders are divided into 2-3 breeders/village. From the research it was known that the dominant factor that causes the rate of reduction in goat Panorusan Samosir population was goat sales to other areas.

Abstract

The need for animal feed in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency is very lacking, and livestock waste is also a problem in the community environment, so the utilization of EM4 goat's urine waste is expected to increase the growth of Indigofera (Indigofera zollingeriana) and Turi (Sesbania grandiflora) legumes in appropriate doses. . This research was conducted in Pangururan Subdistrict, Samosir Regency, North Sumatra from April to August 2018. The research design used in this research was factorial randomized block design (RBD) which was divided into 2 treatment groups and 3 replications. The first factor is the type of plant (L), L1 = Indigofera zollingeriana and L2 = Sesbania grandiflora and the second factor is the dose of fertilization (P), P0 = without fertilization (Control), P1 = 200 ml / polybag, P2 = 250 ml / polybag, P3 = 300 ml / polybag, and P4 = 350 ml / polybag). Parameters observed were plant height, number of stalks, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The results showed that respons of liquid organic fertilizer of goat urine fermented by EM4 with various doses of fertilization had a significant effect on the parameters of the study, namely plant height, number of stalks, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The conclusion of this study is that fertilization with a dose of 200 ml / polybag gives optimal results in the growth of Indigofera (Indigofera zollingeriana) and Turi (Sesbania grandiflora) legumes.

Abstract

Chicken meat is one of the livestock commodities that can meet the protein needs of the community, but there are constraints on the price side. The price of free-range chicken meat tends to fluctuate due to production and demand imbalances and has an impact on price increases. Therefore, there needs to be control so that price increases that occur in free-range chicken meat do not jump sharply The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that influence the amount of freerange chicken meat’s consumption in Langkat Regency. The study was conducted in June - August 2018. The method that used in sampling was the proportionate stratified random sampling method and used the Slovin formula. Primary data collection was carried out by interview techniques using questionnaires to respondents and secondary data collection was obtained from the agencies and agencies assembled and then analyzed with Multiple Linear Regression using SPSS 22 application. The results showed the amount of free-range chicken meat’s consumption in Langkat Regency was influenced partially by income and the number of family members with R² = 0.61.

Abstract

DORA VILLA MANIK, 2018. "Effectiveness of Gambir Solution (UncariagambirRoxb) on the Performances of Broiler Chickens Infected by Escherichia coli".Supervised by MA'RUF TAFSIN and ARMYN HAKIM DAULAY. Gambir has the potential as an antibacterial which is traditionally used as a drug for diarrhea. This study examines the effectiveness of gambir solution on performance which includes feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and income over feed cost (IOFC) in broiler chickens infected with E. coli. It was held in November - December 2017 at the Laboratory of Biology, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture University of Sumatera Utara, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of P0A = without infection and without treatment, P0B = infection with E. coli and P1, P2, P3, respectively E. coli infection + Gambir solution 2%, 4%, 6% and P4 = E. coli + infection Tetracycline antibiotics. The results showed that the administration of gambir solution at a dose of 2% - 6% was significantly (P<0.05) effective in improving the performances of broiler chickens infected with E.coli and able to compensate for the use of commercial antibiotics in the form of tetracycline. The highest IOFC is in the 4% gambir solution.
