Abstract

Comparison of Deiksis of Gantarang Dialect and Kajang Dialect of Bulukumba Regency. The purpose of this study was to describe the deixis use of the Gantarang dialect and the Kajang dialect of Bulukumba Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, which produces descriptive data in the form of written words strung together in a sentence into a single language unit. The data used as the basis for this research is in the form of words or sentences expressed by speakers. The source of the data collection came from native speakers of the Gantarang dialect (Bugis language) and the Kajang dialect (Konjo language). The data collected in the qualitative descriptive analysis is in the form of words, and sentences are not in the form of numbers. Qualitative descriptive research aims to build a natural perception of an object, so researchers get closer to the object as a whole. Based on the data, the results of the research in analyzing the deixis comparison of the Gantarang dialect (Bugis language) and the Kajang dialect (Konjo language) have the same words in terms of sound, pronunciation and meaning, namely the words puang and mate, meanwhile, apart from the words puang and mate, other data have differences both in terms of sound, meaning, pronunciation or pronunciation besides that both languages pay great attention to the level of politeness when speaking especially if the speech partner is an older person, and also if the speech partner has a certain social stratum or degree in society such as someone from royal lineage. Gantarang dialect (Bugis language) found five deixis namely persona deixis, time deixis, place deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis. Meanwhile, in the Kajang dialect (Konjo language), five deixis are found, namely persona deixis, time deixis, place deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify the ability to write children's poetry in fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri I Makassar City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation, while the instruments I used were observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis using descriptive qualitative analysis, it was stated that the ability to write poetry for fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri I, Makassar City obtained good results but still needs to be trained. Obstacles in writing children's poetry and how to overcome them in class V students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri I Makassar City, namely especially in writing spelling as well as the relationship between one paragraph and another paragraph, limited by the time given by the teacher so that students are unable to think quietly. The way to overcome this is that they are often given more practice and given special guidance in writing or repeated writing and given directions and explanations about using good spelling.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan literasi numerasi dengan penerapan model ATIK menggunakan media loose part pada siswa kelas I SDN 64 Buntu Ampang Kecamatan Anggeraja Kabupaten Enrekang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 64 Buntu Ampang, Kecamatan Anggeraja, Kabupaten Enrekang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I yang berjumlah 21 siswa pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Faktor yang diteliti adalah faktor proses dan faktor hasil belajar. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan dengan menerapkan model ATIK menggunakan media loose part. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) Terdapat peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa pada setiap siklusnya. (2) Dalam siklus pertama, skor rata -rata untuk hasil pembelajaran siswa adalah 61,4, sedangkan dalam siklus kedua itu lebih tinggi, mencapai 88. Pada siklus pertama, ada 10 siswa atau 47,7% yang mencapai kelengkapan belajar, sementara di dalam siklus II terdapat 21 siswa atau 100% yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil pembelajaran literasi numerasi melalui model ATIK dengan menggunakan media loose part pada siswa kelas I SDN 64 Buntu Ampang Kecamatan Anggeraja Kabupaten Enrekang mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

This research discusses increasing students' interest in writing poetry through the literacy movement at school. This research aims to analyze the influence of literacy activities, such as poetry workshops and writing competitions, on students' motivation to express themselves through poetry. The method used is qualitative-descriptive, with data collection through observation and interviews with students and teachers. The research results showed that the literacy movement succeeded in increasing students' interest in writing poetry, where students felt more motivated to participate in creative activities. Apart from that, support from the school environment, such as teacher guidance and space to share work, also contributes to the development of students' poetry writing abilities. This article concludes that the literacy movement is effective in generating students' creativity and interest in literature, especially poetry.

Abstract

Listening is one of the fundamental skills in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level, yet it often receives less attention compared to other language skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Community-Based Education Program (KKN Pendidikan) in improving the listening skills of third-grade students at UPT SDN No.78 Balang through a learning visit to the Pangngadakkang Reading House in Bontokassi Village, Takalar Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 31 student participants. The learning activities were designed contextually by integrating storytelling, group discussions, read-aloud sessions, and active listening exercises in a non-formal learning environment. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' focus, participation, and comprehension during listening activities. The interactive and engaging atmosphere of the reading house proved to be an effective alternative learning space. Moreover, the strong collaboration between student-teachers, classroom teachers, and reading house facilitators played a vital role in the success of the program. These findings suggest that an environment-based literacy approach can be an effective strategy for enhancing listening skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of limited journalistic writing skills among students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, particularly in composing structured, factual, and ethical news texts. Many students experience difficulties in applying news values, organizing information based on the 5W+1H principle, and using appropriate journalistic language. The purpose of this study was to provide structured assistance in news text writing and to examine its effectiveness in improving students’ news writing competence. The methodology employed was a mentoring-based training model using a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach. The participants were university students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Program. The mentoring activities were conducted through workshops, guided practice, group discussions, peer review, and individual feedback sessions. Data were collected through observation, writing tests (pre-test and post-test), and documentation of students’ news texts. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ ability to identify news elements, organize information coherently, apply journalistic language features, and produce accurate and objective news texts. The average post-test scores increased compared to the pre-test results, and students demonstrated higher motivation and confidence in writing news. The study concludes that mentoring in news text writing is effective in enhancing students’ journalistic writing skills and can serve as an alternative model for strengthening writing instruction in higher education.

Abstract

This community service article aims to enhance students’ critical thinking skills and linguistic literacy through creative advertising writing training. The participants were fifth-semester students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The training employed a participatory approach consisting of lectures, discussions, practice sessions, and evaluations. Data were collected using questionnaires, writing tests, and observations. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of linguistic literacy concepts, diction accuracy, sentence effectiveness, and creativity in advertising texts. The training also fostered students’ awareness of ethical and persuasive language use. These findings demonstrate that literacy-based advertising writing training contributes positively to students’ academic and professional competencies.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ reading comprehension through the application of the Reading Theatre method. The research employed Classroom Action Research consisting of two cycles conducted with 27 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri Kalukuang, Gowa Regency. Each cycle included planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation and reading comprehension tests. The results showed an improvement in students’ reading comprehension achievement. In Cycle I, 17 students (62.96%) achieved the minimum mastery criteria, while in Cycle II, the number increased to 23 students (85.19%). These findings indicate that the Reading Theatre method effectively improves reading comprehension skills of sixth-grade students.
