Abstract

Unsafe behavior takes many forms from a simple failure to wear or use personal protective equipment to an intentional act, such as moving a guard machine or tampering with a security mechanism into a security system. There are many reasons why people behave unsafely, perhaps they were taught certain unsafe work methods early in the job and see it now as standard work practice, they may lack the skills or knowledge to perform tasks safely, as in certain manual handling, they may failed to secure the load due to timely demands. Factors causing accidents and poor health. The main causes of accidents in the workplace are caused by unsafe behavior and employers need to be aware that reducing accidents can only be achieved by identifying, examining and focusing these behaviors. This research was conducted using a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The population in the study were all workers in the production division of PT.X, totaling 65 people. The sample in this study used total sampling, namely all workers in the production division of PT. X as many as 65 people. Data collection in this study was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate with chi-square. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between attitudes (p-value = 0.035), knowledge (p-value = 0.041), training (p-value = 0.043) on unsafe behavior in workers in the production division of palm oil processing PT. X in 2021. It is recommended for companies as input and consideration for companies in their work in order to prevent work accidents

Abstract

Work accidents can occur in various types of work, one of which occurs in the oil palm harvesting process. Workers who harvest oil palm are very likely to experience work accidents, including: falls, injuries caused by harvesting equipment, pricked by thorns, crushed by midribs, and crushed fresh fruit bunches, which can cause disability and even death. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of work accidents in oil palm harvesters in the village of Gajah Gajah. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in the Village of Gajah Subdistrict, Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in January 2022. The sample of the study was oil palm harvester workers in the Waterfall Village of Gajah. The number of samples in this study were 67 people. The instrument of this research is a questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed univariately and bivariately by using the chi square statistical test. Univariate results showed that 61.2% of respondents had experienced work accidents, 88.1% of respondents had long working periods, 44.8% of respondents were not good at using personal protective equipment and 53.7% of respondents had poor knowledge. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the use of personal protective equipment (p=0.000) and knowledge (p=0.000) with work accidents in oil palm workers. there is no relationship between years of service (p=0.711) and work accidents for oil palm workers.

Abstract

Hazard identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) is a method used to identify the value and level of risk of potential hazards in the workplace by identifying hazard characteristics that can occur and evaluating the impacts that occur using a risk assessment matrix. The purpose of this study is to identify potentials that can cause risks of harm in bread production. This research is a qualitative research to see the analysis of potential hazards using the HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment And Risk Control) method in the breadmaking MSME industry with observational data collection techniques using the indepth interview method and using observation. This research was conducted in Kota Baru sub-district and was carried out in July 2022. The informants to be studied were 5 informants consisting of 4 workers and 1 owner. The results of the interview and observation found potential hazards in the workplace, namely, the risk of being pinched during the mixing process, the risk of respiratory problems due to / allergen flour, slippery floors, the risk of being slashed by a bread cutting tool, the risk of being squeezed in the dough grinding machine, the risk of burns, repetitive movements, the risk of being squeezed by the mixer, the hot room, the risk of being exposed to hot steam, the risk of being slashed by a knife during the material preparation process. In conclusion, based on the risk assessment of the potential dangers that exist in breadmaking at Ivan Bakery, it was found that several potential dangers of low risk levels are the risk of being squeezed by mixing / mixers, respiratory problems. Then for moderate risks are slippery floors, hot rooms, and slashed bread cutting tools. As for the high level of risk, namely repetitive movements.

Abstract

LBP is a form of musculoskeletal disorder caused by poor body activity. Travel car drivers are one of the professions that have the risk of experiencing LBP. Risk factors for LBP in travel car drivers include length of service, age, anthropometry. Travel car drivers who work with the wrong body position will cause LBP which is affected by the physical condition of the car driver. This study is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach that aims to find out the factors related to low back pain (LBP) complaints. The population in this study was all 48 travel car drivers majoring in Jambi-Bangko. The total sample was 48 respondents, the instrument used was a questionnaire sheet and was carried out by filling out a questionnaire, measuring height and weight. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between the variable length of service and Low Back Pain (P-value = 0.000), there was no relationship between age and Low Back Pain (P-value = 0.149), there was a relationship between anthropometry and Low Back Pain (P-value = 0.023). It is hoped that travel car drivers can stretch or relax during rest periods, have an ideal weight, and drink more water to replace body fluids.

Abstract

The use of fuels such as premium and diesel releases 95% of lead emissions that can pollute the air and can then be inhaled and absorbed by the body so that it can cause health problems such as decreased hemoglobin levels which can interfere with the hematological system because it interferes with the formation of red blood cells (erythropoesis) by inhibiting protoporphyrin synthesis and interfering with iron absorption so that it can increase the risk of high anemia. This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. The research sample was public filling station officers who refueled as many as 46 people. The research instruments were questionnaires and easytouch brand digital hemometers. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi square statistical test. The results showed that 60.9% of respondents had normal hemoglobin levels, 52.2% of respondents were > 30 years old, 67.4% of respondents were male, 63.0% of respondents used personal protective equipment and 52.2% of respondents had a new working period. The results of bivariate analysis showed there was a relationship between the use of personal protective equipment (0.016) and tenure (p=0.019) with hemoglobin levels in public fuel station officers in South Jambi District. There is no relationship between age (p=0.503) and gender (p=1.000) with hemoglobin levels in public refueling station officers in South Jambi District.
