Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman matematika siswa materi kedudukan titik dalam bidang koordinat kartesius kelas VIII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini berjumlah adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda yang berjumlah 63 siswa kelas VIII-F dan VIII-K SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dan objek yang diteliti adalah pemahaman matematika pada materi kedudukan titik dalam bidang koordinat kartesius. Adapun instrumen penelitian adalah soal tes pemahaman matematika pada materi kedudukan titik dalam bidang koordinat kartesius dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Setelah itu dilakukan pengujian keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 63 siswa subjek penelitian, terdapat 1 siswa yang memiliki pemahaman dengan kategori sangat baik, 7 siswa yang memiliki pemahaman dengan kategori baik, 22 siswa yang memiliki pemahaman dengan kategori cukup, 26 siswa yang memiliki pemahaman dengan kategori kurang, dan 7 siswa yang memiliki pemahaman dengan kategori sangat kurang. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa secara umum pemahaman matematika pada materi kedudukan titik dalam bidang koordinat kartesius siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda termasuk kategori kurang yang dapat berdampak pada pemahaman materi matematika di jenjang berikutnya.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of self-regulation in enhancing mathematical literacy among high school students solving PISA Space and Shape problems. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through self-regulation questionnaires, PISA-based tasks, and semi-structured interviews from high school students categorized into high, moderate, and low self-regulation groups. The data analysis technique in this study consisting of three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion. Results reveal a strong correlation between self-regulation and mathematical literacy, with high self-regulation students excelling in formulating, employing, and interpreting mathematical problems. Moderate self-regulation students displayed partial success, while low self-regulation students struggled significantly, particularly in interpreting and validating solutions. The study underscores the importance of self-regulation strategies such as goal-setting, monitoring, and reflection in improving mathematical literacy. Instructional recommendations include structured goal-setting frameworks, reflective practices, and scaffolded tasks to support learners with varying self-regulation levels. These findings contribute to mathematics education by addressing the interplay between self-regulation and problem-solving in the underexplored Space and Shape domain. Future research should expand on these insights through larger, longitudinal studies to further validate the implications of self-regulation in educational contexts.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is a process of building mathematical knowledge by teachers to students. However, the learning outcomes obtained are still relatively lacking, especially in SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on learning outcomes in the similarity material in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The population of this study was all students of class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda as many as 325 students divided into 11 classes. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was class F as an experimental class of 35 students who applied the Discovery Learning learning model and class E as a control class of 36 students who applied the Conventional learning model. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class were 55.886, while the control class was 41.056. The results of the inferential analysis using the Independent Sample t-Test with right-hand testing showed a statistical significance value <the test significance value, which was 0.001 <0.05 so that H_0 was rejected. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that there was an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on learning outcomes in the similarity material in class VII of SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan pengembangan serta menguji kelayakan Elektronik Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (E-LKPD) yang dikembangkan dalam platform Android menggunakan Kodular pada materi Transformasi Geometri untuk jenjang SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan tahapan pengumpulan data, desain, pengembangan, dan validasi produk oleh ahli materi serta media. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, para pakar menyatakan aplikasi E-LKPD ini valid hingga sangat valid dengan indeks Aiken V masing-masing 0,79 dan 0,92. Melalui uji coba kepada peserta didik, Aplikasi E-LKPD dinilai praktis dengan indeks Aiken V sebesar 0,8. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran ini layak digunakan. Diharapkan, keberadaan E-LKPD ini dapat memperkaya pembelajaran Transformasi Geometri dengan pendekatan yang menarik, interaktif, dan mendorong hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This development research is based on students’ limited understanding of integer arithmetic operations, particularly negative numbers, as well as the lack of interactive learning media in the learning process. This study aims to examine the process of developing Scratch-based learning media for integer arithmetic operations and to determine the validity and practicality of the developed media. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instruments used include validation sheets for subject matter experts and media experts, as well as a practicality questionnaire for students. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that the learning media was developed through stages of needs analysis, curriculum analysis, and technology analysis; media and instrument design; product creation in the form of Scratch-based interactive media containing content, practice problems, and educational games; validation; revision; and finally, pilot testing with students. The learning media was deemed highly valid by subject matter experts (87.33%) and by media experts (97.04%), and highly practical based on student responses (91.49%). Thus, the Scratch-based learning media developed was deemed suitable and highly practical for use in teaching mathematics on integer arithmetic for 7th-grade junior high school students.
