Abstract

During Covid 19 teaching and learning should be conducted via an online system. One of the supporting tools is using the application of google meet. The student in the tourism business management department must able to speak English in descriptive text fluently. The students must be provided excellent English skills to escort and to explain the clear hotel room facilities and services for international guests. The comic strip is teaching media that is suitable in-state polytechnic of Banyuwangi because it can help the student to understand the text easily. The lecturer tried to describe the teaching speaking activity in the classroom using the google meet platform. The study used a descriptive qualitative research design. The researcher analyzed and described the teaching speaking in the descriptive text by using comic strip for the tourism department. The preparation of the lecturer was syllabus and course agreement which consist of learning objective and indicator, the method, and learning sources. The lecturer taught the students based on course agreement. The lecturer only facilitated the students to be active in speaking descriptive text. He asked the students to do modeling communication in a hotel. One of the students performed as a bell boy and the other as a tourist who wants to stay in a hotel. During the teaching-learning process, the lecturer got three main troubles in conducting the teaching process. There was students’ low in vocabulary, pronunciation, losing signal, and trouble in expressing sentences. Speaking descriptive text course which was taught by the lecturer proceeded effectively and acceptable for the students.

Abstract

Misi Politeknik Negeri Banyuwangi yaitu meningkatkan akses, relevansi, kemampuan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan inovasi untuk sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan program Pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuwangi dalam meningkatkan mutu sumber daya manusia. Pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuwangi secara terus menerus melakukan perbaikan mutu pendidikan. Dalam meningkatkan mutu sumber daya masyarakat melalui pendidikan tidak hanya dengan mengembangkan kemampuan intelektual saja, tetapi dengan meningkatkan sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung program pembelajaran. Apabila sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung proses pembelajaran terpenuhi, dapat dipastikan hal tersebut akan mendukung keberhasilan dalam pendidikan. Siswa akan merasa senang, nyaman selama berada di lingkungan sekolah. Sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung pembelajaran dapat disesuaikan dengan situasi sekitar. Sarpras tersebut tidaklah harus mewah dan canggih, tetapi dengan sarpras yang sederhana dan nyaman akan membuat siswa betah berada di sekolah. Salah satu sarpras yang bisa mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran dan peningkatan mutu sumber daya manusia adalah perpustakaan. Permasalahan yang dialami mitra (SDN 3 Aliyan) adalah perpustakaan yang belum memadai dari segi penataan ruang, fasilitas, administrasi, bahkan bahan bacaan yang masih tergolong kurang. Apabila hal ini tetap dibiarkan maka akan menghambat keberhasilan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Pada pengabdian ini dilakukan beberapa proses yaitu kunjungan kepada mitra (SDN 3 Aliyan) untuk memahami permasalahan yang dialami mitra, melakukan perbaikan perpustakaan yang ada meliputi penataan ruang, pemenuhan fasilitas yang mendukung, dan sosialisasi pengelolaan dan administrasi perpustakaan. Luaran yang diharapkan dari pengabdian ini antara lain penataan ruang yang nyaman bagi pembaca di perpustakaan SDN 3 Aliyan dan manajemen perpustakaan yang baik oleh guru-guru SDN 3 Aliyan. Abstract

Bamboo is a very easy plant found in Indonesia. This plant is very easy to grow and develops into many especially in tropical climates, so the bamboo is mostly grown on the river banks. Bamboo utilization is one form of an abundance of bamboo influences. Bamboo is widely used for the needs of making household and various kinds of crafts as well as wicker. This webbing is sold as a source for the makers’ income. Gintangan is a village located in Banyuwangi whose majority of people have the expertise of making wicker. Manufacture of webbing that requires thin bamboo sheets as raw material woven. Development of a bamboo ambush machine is needed to assist the partner in Gintangan Village as a tool to accelerate the process of making bamboo slices thin so that the manufacturing process becomes faster at the partner in Sanggar Kerajinan Bambu Karya Nyata. This bamboo-absorbing tool was developed to accelerate the process without having to do manual bamboo watering which is very time-consuming. The presence of these machines can increase the production of webbing rapidly and can increase the profit of partners because it reduces the cost for employees of the bamboo shredder.

Abstract

The problem of radicalism in this globalization era is especially religious radicalism. The students learn the Pancasila Education course in Ideology Pancasila topic, students are expected to be able to understand radicalism so that it can counteract the radicalism circulating in the campus. The purpose of the Pancasila Education course in higher education, especially the subject of Pancasila as a State Ideology that is developing the Pancasila character. They are actualized in an honest, responsible, polite, friendly with their environment, mutual cooperation, and peace-loving attitude. In this research, tests were carried out on students' perceptions of radicalism. It was done before and after learning the Pancasila Education course. Measurement of student perceptions uses a Likert scale questionnaire with fifteen items. The questionnaire is divided into three aspects, namely the definition of radicalism, the purpose of radicalism, due to radicalism. Moreover, the questionnaire is classified into students who have very good, good, and sufficient understanding. From the two tests, it has resulted that there was an influence of Pancasila Education on students' perceptions of radicalism. After the Pancasila Education course, the perception of students in the same category gets an increase in total value.

Abstract

Currently, there is a lot of garbage scattered around in the environment, such as the garbage found in small rivers due to the lack of awareness of people who throw garbage in rivers. In fact, throwing garbage in the river causes the overflow of river water so that there is a flood. To overcome these environmental problems, a tool was created, namely the household organic waste chopper, this machine is one solution to reduce waste disposal in the river, which then the results of the enumeration are used for organic fertilizers for plants. Planning for household organic waste choppers as a solution for the environment for the manufacture of organic fertilizer materials as well as to reduce waste that is thrown away, and also the results of the enumeration are used for organic fertilizer on plants. This community service program involves partners and students of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program. The initial stage of this service activity is to conduct a survey to identify the problems faced by partners and conduct a literature study to obtain solutions to partner problems. After the solution to the partner's problem is obtained, the next step is to design and manufacture the machine needed, namely a household organic waste chopper. The household organic waste shredder which is transferred to partners is made as simple as possible, easy to operate and easy to maintain. With the existence of this organic waste shredder, it is hoped that it can help the Pesucen Village community in minimizing piles of organic waste that have a negative impact on the environment

Abstract

Misi Politeknik Negeri Banyuwangi adalah meningkatkan akses, relevansi, kemampuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dan inovasi untuk sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Upaya peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara. Dalam bidang pendidikan cara yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan meningkatkan kualitas penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Salah satu cara dalam peningkatan kualitas penyelenggaraan pendidikan yaitu perbaikan pengelolaan pembelajaran. Pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi siswa sangat membantu keberhasilan dari proses pembelajaran tersebut. Salah satu penyelenggaraan pembelajaran yang menarik bagi siswa yaitu outdoor education. Kondisi out door education yang memprihatikan ditemukan di sekolah-sekolah di wilayah Banyuwangi, salah satunya di SMP PGRI 3 Pesanggaran. Bersamaan dengan penataan infrastruktur halaman sekolah, pada kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini juga dilakukan penyuluhan pentingnya outdoor education khususnya mata pelajaran yang dianggap sulit seperti Bahasa Inggris dan Matematika. Penyuluhan outdoor education yang dilakukan meliputi hakikat, tujuan, dan nilai karakter dalam outdoor education. Untuk materi outdoor education yaitu penataan smart tree. Dimana pohon tersebut nantinya digantungkan nama-nama benda dan cita-cita dalam bahasa inggris. Selain itu juga dibangun tiga tempat belajar berpayung dimana digunakan siswa untuk berdiskusi soal-soal matematika di luar kelas. Untuk keberlanjutan kegiatan PKM setiap tahun akan diadakan pembangunan outdoor education untuk materi yang berbeda agar memberikan hasil yang maksimal. Abstract

Food sales during the Covid19 pandemic experienced a decline. This also includes Umbi Porang. Kembiritan Village Farmers Group, Genteng District, Banyuwangi Regency is one of the areas in Banyuwangi that produces porang tubers. To solve this sales problem, it is necessary to improve the quality of porang tuber sales by processing porang tubers into the desired shape by consumers. However, the Kembiritan Village Farmer Group cannot process porang tubers into porang flour due to several problems, namely they do not have a machine capable of pounding dry porang chips into porang flour and do not have human resources who can operate machines. Based on these problems, it is necessary to develop a porang tuber-making machine and Human Resources training from partners. This community service began with adjusting the porang tuber-making machine according to the porang tuber at the partner's place. After adjustments were made, training was carried out on the use of the porang flour making machine and the maintenance of the porang tuber-making machine. Then, partner assistance is carried out in determining the quality of porang tuber sales. Where the quality is determined from the capacity per transport of various forms of porang tubers.

Abstract

The harvest of dragon fruit in Banyuwangi Regency often makes the availability of dragon fruit very abundant so that the selling price is so low that dragon fruit farmers throw it away and make dragon fruit as animal feed, compost, and even throw it into the river as a form of their disappointment with this condition. In terms of nutritional components, dragon fruit has a high antioxidant content, which is useful for counteracting free radicals in the body. The benefits of the dragon fruit become useless when the main harvest arrives and the amount of dragon fruit is very large. Through this research, researchers want to make dragon fruit into processed food that has added value, namely nutritional value and high economic value, one of which is by making dragon fruit into nata de dragon as an alternative to functional food because it is made using starter culture from acetic acid bacteria. Namely, Acetobacter xylinum which can form glucose bonds to become extracellular cellulose (fiber) which is beneficial for the health of the body through the digestive tract. This research was conducted at the Food Processing Laboratory, Study Program D-IV Livestock Product Processing Technology, Banyuwangi State Polytechnic with 3 treatments of sucrose concentrations, namely 4, 6, and 8%. The results of ANOVA showed that the sucrose concentration significantly affected on the antioxidant levels of nata de dragon.

Abstract

Pancasila adalah ideologi bangsa Indonesia. Arti penting ideologi ini terakumulasi dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Sehingga siswa dapat mengembangkan karakter dirinya sebagai Pancasilais. Pembelajaran daring dimulai saat pandemi tahun lalu. Hal tersebut memiliki permasalahan yaitu kurangnya minat dan semangat siswa dalam belajar. Oleh karena itu, dosen diharapkan memilih metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini akan mengembangkan angket untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir siswa jika pembelajaran dilakukan secara daring. khususnya ingin mengetahui keefektifan pengembangan angket dalam pembelajaran pancasila. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model Plomp. Hasil penelitian dengan angket menunjukkan keefektifan pembelajaran online Pancasila di Politeknik Negeri Bnayuwangi. Ada 20 item dalam kuesioner dengan reliabilitas tinggi 0,862. Untuk pengembangan angket lebih lanjut, validasi ahli memberikan hasil validasi di atas nilai 3 dari 3 indikator, yaitu indikator kesesuaian kurikulum, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan bahasa yang digunakan. Masing-masing indikator mendapat nilai 3, 67, 3,3, dan 3,42 yang berarti skor keseluruhan baik. Namun untuk meningkatkan persentase setiap indikator keberhasilan pembelajaran Pancasila dengan cara memperbaiki butir pernyataan angket agar persentase validitas menjadi tidak kurang dari 100% terhadap rata-rata skor validasi sehingga diperoleh kriteria validitas sangat tinggi. Abstract

Daging ayam broiler adalah bahan pangan yang mengandung gizi yang tinggi, memiliki rasa dan aroma yang enak, tekstur yang lunak dan harga yang relatif murah, sehingga banyak masyarakat yang mengkonsumsi. Daging ayam broiler banyak dikonsumsi melalui berbagai jenis produk olahan pangan. Kelemahan daging utamanya daging ayam ialah mudah tercemar oleh mikroorganisme diantaranya Escherichia coli dan Salmonella melalui tanah, udara, air dan debu. Salah satu cara agar daging ayam tidak cepat mengalami kerusakan adalah dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan utama pembuatan bakso. Salah satu ciri khas bakso adalah memiliki tekstur yang kenyal. Bahan pengenyal alami yang biasa digunakan adalah tepung tapioka dan tepungporang. Tepung porang merupakan olahan dari umbi porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) dengan umur simpan relatif panjang yang memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dikembangkan di industri pangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas fisik (rendemen dan daya ikat air), kualitas kimia (kadar air) serta mutu organoleptik (warna, aroma, rasa dan tekstur) terhadap bakso ayam broiler dengan penambahan bahan pengikat tepung porang. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 perlakuan yaitu P0 (0% tepung porang), P1 (0,5% tepung porang), P2 (1% tepung porang), P3 (1,5% tepung porang) masing-masing diulang sebanyak 6 kali ulangan sehingga diperoleh total 24 sampel penelitian. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung porang memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai kadar air, warna, tekstur dan tidak berpengaruh pada rendemen, daya ikat air, rasa, aroma.
