This study aims to describe the historical picture of Islam’s collapse during the Andalusian period in novel "Sangkakala di Langit Andalusia" by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method using a New Historicism critical approach. The data analysis technique used by the researcher is categorization, tabulation, data analysis and data inference steps. The analysis was carried out by comparing the historical picture in the novel "Sangkakala di Langit Andalusia" with history in history books related to the glory of Islam in Spain such as; “History of the Arabs”; “Penghancuran Buku dari Masa ke Masa”; dan “Bangkit dan Runtuhnya Andalusia”. The results of this study indicate that there is a historical form of Islam’s during the Andalusian period in the plot of novel "Sangkakala di Langit Andalusia", which starts from the emergence of disunity of the Muslim until the collapse of the Islamic sultanate In Andalusia. The presentation of the content’s relevance in the novel and historical facts in this study is divided into three discussions; (1) An emergence of divisions in the Muslims, (2) the fall of the Islamic region to the power of the Christian kingdom, and (3) An Apocalypse in Andalusia.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap aspek-aspek antropologis, terutama berkaitan dengan sistem kosmologi Suku Machinguenga yang hidup di belantara Hutan Amazon, berikut rahasia-rahasia kehidupan genuine yang dijalani mereka dalam novel Sang Pengoceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif, dengan menerapkan teknik baca dan teknik catat, dengan panduan teori antropologi sastra. Hasil penelitian diarahkan untuk menjelaskan aspek-aspek sistem kosmologi Suku Machiguenga lewat telaah etnografi dan kajian terhadap folklore-folklore-nya, untuk menyibak jagat (kosmos) Suku Machiguenga—di dalam novel Sang Pengoceh (El-Hablador) karya Mario Vargas Llosa—seperti kehidupan organis, cerita rakyat (folktales), mitos (myth), legenda (legends), makhluk mitologi, agama lokal (popular belief/folk religion), pengobatan setempat (folk medicine), adat-istiadat dan tradisi keseharian seperti pola makan, dan berbagi ritus lainnya, yang semuanya terekam dan disajikan secara apik dan menawan dalam narasi novel.

This article seeks to analyze the pros and cons regarding radicalism on YouTube. The focus of this article is on how the concept of counter-radicalism is expressed in the LogIn content on the Deddy Corbuzier and Ustaz Abdul Somad Officials YouTube Channel. On other hand, this article also examines how the effectiveness of the two channels in the context of deradicalizing religious understanding and countering intolerance. Methodologically, this article uses a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach based on Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional theory: text, discourse practice, and socio-cultural. This article argues that the percentage of success in countering intolerance and radicalism in LogIn content (religious dialogue) is more than the content of Ustaz Abdul Somad Official. Deddy Corbuzier’s YouTube channel—which broadcasts the LogIn program—has more subscribers than Ustaz Abdul Somad Official. Furthermore, the concept of delivering dakwah (preach) in the LogIn program is also more varied, attractive, and contemporary. Thus, it is more interesting to netizens from various religious backgrounds, rather than the content of Ustaz Abdul Somad Official.

This study aimed to identify and describe the form of actantial structure and functional structure in the novel Arwāḥ Mut‘abah by Asmā’ al-Ḥuwaylī based on the perspective of a French theorist of naratology and semiotics, A. J. Greimas. This research used the descriptive-qualitative research type. The data source in this research is the novel Arwāḥ Mut‘abah by Asmā’ al-Ḥuwaylī with the addition of several references related to theory and objects. Data collection techniques used reading techniques and note-taking (writing) techniques. While the data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman technique, including data reduction, data display, and verification of data or conclusions. From this research, we found eight actantial schemes. The eight actantial schemes included five perfect schemes and three imperfect schemes. While the functional structure in the novel Arwāḥ Mut‘abah had a complete storyline, namely the initial situation, transformation, and final situation. The final situation in this study is in the form of something that is calming but at the same time tense, namely death.

Feminisme telah menjadi fenomena yang dikenal dalam masyarakat luas sejak lama. Fenomena ini tidak hanya terbatas pada masyarakat umum, akan tetapi isu feminisme juga hadir dalam industri perfilman Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perempuan Jawa perdesaan direpresentasikan dalam film pendek yang berjudul “Tilik” (2020). Film pendek “Tilik” (2020) mengangkat feminisme yang berkembang di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah Jawa perdesaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menerapkan metode semiotika televisi yang dikembangkan oleh John Fiske, yang terdiri dari tiga level analisis, yaitu level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi. Urgensi penelitian ini berkaitan dengan pemahaman mengenai bentuk feminisme yang dapat ditemui pada perempuan Jawa perdesaan. Adapun novelty dalam penelitian ini terletak pada titik fokus data yang dianalisis secara menyeluruh pada tiap tokoh perempuan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh penulis yakni berjumlah tujuh temuan data dan diklasifikasikan dalam empat kategori feminisme, yaitu feminisme mendukung perempuan aktif berkampanye, feminisme mendukung perempuan sebagai pemimpin, feminisme mendukung kebebasan berekspresi perempuan, dan feminisme mendorong solidaritas antara perempuan.

Naturalism novels portray the reality of life in a sharper and more decisive way than realism novels. Naturalism takes the place of building a narrative, like shooting a photographic reality by zooming in. Narrative naturalism normally provides a sharp depiction of reality without idealization. This study identified the description of reality through elements of naturalism in the novel Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz. This study deployed Emile Zola’s naturalism theory with a qualitative descriptive approach. The primary data source was the novel Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz, supported by secondary data from relevant books and journal articles. The data were in sentences or paragraphs collected by reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this study figured out the elements of naturalism in the novel Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz, including aspects of objectivity, setting, determinism, pessimism, and plot twists. The provisions for selecting these elements were based on findings practiced in writing the novel Midaq Alley. The novelty of this article lies in the discovery of elements of Emile Zola’s naturalism in the novel Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz and the evidence of a picture of the postwar situation of Egypt depicted in real, alive, but natural by the author.
