Abstract

Children with special needs often face difficulties in reading, including frequent errors in word pronunciation, particularly in the Balinese language. This study aims to analyze the phonological errors in reading and understanding Balinese among children with intellectual disabilities. The subjects of this study consist of two classes, with a total of 15 students. The data collection methods and instruments used include observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed is qualitative descriptive analysis, while data validity is ensured through triangulation, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate the presence of phonological errors, such as mispronunciations involving phoneme omission and phoneme addition in Balinese language sounds. It can be concluded that the factors contributing to these phonological errors include low cognitive ability, students' tendency to become easily bored or struggle with learning comprehension, and the influence of their first language or surrounding environment. The implications of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in inclusive schools to improve Balinese language instruction for students with special needs.

Abstract

The use of various media and learning methods greatly influences students' learning outcomes. This study aims to develop smart box media based on differentiated learning in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences with the material of my region my proud for fifth grade elementary school students. This type of research is included in development research by adapting the ADDIE model which goes through 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This study involved design experts, content/material experts, design experts, and learning media experts, as well as 29 fifth grade elementary school students. The methods used in data collection were questionnaires and multiple-choice tests. The data analysis techniques used were quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The results of the study showed the feasibility based on the results of the expert assessment of design, content, design, media, individual trials, and small group trials in sequence, namely 93.18%, 96.67%, 92.5% 92.5%, 96.67%, and 91.67% which are included in the very good category. The effectiveness test with a one-sample t-test obtained tcount of 5.583, while the ttable value at a significance level of 5% with dk = 28 was 1.701. These results indicate that tcount > ttable or 5.583 > 1.701, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that smart box media based on differentiated learning is feasible and effective to be applied to the subject of science with the material of my proud region for grade V students.

Artikel peneltian bersumber dari tiga database, yaitu Google Schoolar, Science Direct dan ERIC. Kata kunci yang digunakan adalah “sains di rumah untuk anak OR science at home for children”.

Abstract

The learning of regional dances in SBdP (Arts, Culture, and Skills) subjects at elementary schools has not been optimal due to the limited availability of learning media suited to the characteristics of students, particularly deaf students. As a result, students’ understanding of the material remains low. This study aims to develop and test the validity and effectiveness of visual media based on the local wisdom of Janger Kolok Performing Art in regional dance learning. The research employed a research and development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects consisted of a content expert, an instructional design expert, a learning media expert, and 16 sixth-grade elementary students. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student trials, and learning outcome tests (post-test). Data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive techniques and t-tests. The validation results showed an average score of 92.86% (content expert), 90.62% (design expert), and 90.91% (media expert), categorized as "very good." The effectiveness test obtained a tcount = 2.497 > ttable = 1.753, indicating a significant improvement in students’ understanding. The conclusion of this study demonstrates that local wisdom-based media are effective in improving learning outcomes and supporting the preservation of regional culture in schools. The implication is that this media can serve as a reference for developing culture-based learning and as an effort to preserve cultural heritage for younger generations.
