Abstract

This research is aimed to evaluate acceleration program in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon which is include four components such as: (1)Context (2)Input (3) Process, and (4)Product. This is an evaluative research using descriptive analysis. This research informants are principals, viceprincipals, program coordinators, teachers, school committees, parents, and students accelerated program. Research sites in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon. The data is collected using interview, observation and documentation study techniques. For the data validation, this research used triangulation of sources and techniques. The results shows that, from context, the implementation of the acceleration program is a school’s initiative as an effort to address the needs and provide the education services for special smart learners (IQ  130) as well as the effectiveness of school facilities and infrastructure utilization. From the point of input including: (a) the program policy, the school has permission from the department as the juridical basis for accelerated program implementation, and (b) planning program: recruitment of learners are in accordance with the criteria, curriculum acceleration program already differentiated, educators (teachers) already meets the qualifications and criteria as teacher in class acceleration, infrastructure and financing program is sufficient to support the accelerated program. In terms of Process, acceleration program in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon has been implemented in accordance with the planning program, although there are still some shortcomings and obstacles. Recruitment of learners already implemented, curriculum adjustments will only be visible on the implementation of the teaching and learning activities, educators (teachers) are still there who do not meet the qualifications and criteria as a teacher in class acceleration, infrastructure is not sufficient to support an accelerated program of activities, and financing programs that is still lacking. The implementation of the teaching and learning process in an accelerated program carried out on a daily basis according to the effective education calendar prepared by the school. The obstacles in the implementation of the accelerated program associated with government policy on the closure of the accelerated program. Product of the implementation of an accelerated program at SMP Negeri 6 Ambon that learners can complete their education exactly two years, passed 100%, and is accepted in favorite high school, both public and private. Thus, the implementation of accelerated program at SMP Negeri 6 Ambon should be continued but with improvements. For the further service, the school is suggested to improve the service toward accelerated program learners with providing the needs related to the implementation of the program, and for the education department, related to the monitoring, supervision, and evaluation toward the implementation of accelerated program, especially in SMP Negeri 6 Ambon.

Abstract

Teachers have used various ways to explore innovative learning to improve students' cognitive physics skills. Edmodo is a free and secure educational learning network that provides a simple way for teachers to create and manage online classroom communities. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Edmodo application in improving students' cognitive abilities in physics on the topic of work and energy. The analysis of this study focused on cognitive abilities and student motivation in the classroom. The method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest design using descriptive research type that aims to describe the situation/symptom or phenomenon, which is designed to obtain information in the current state. In this case, the improvement of students' cognitive abilities can be seen by using the Edmodo application. The research design used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study was class 10 in the Science department, with a total of 27 students using a random sampling technique. Data collection was done by using a physics cognitive ability test. Quantitative data of this study were obtained through objective tests (pretest-posttest) based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The results of this study indicate that the application of Edmodo can improve students' cognitive abilities in physics. With the increase in students' physics cognitive abilities in learning, the learning outcomes of previously low students increased significantly. Therefore, it is recommended that AI-Edmodo improve students' physics cognitive abilities in learning physics on the topic of work and energy.

Abstract

This community service program (PKM) has the aim of implementing the development of a creative problem solving (CPS) learning model using...Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring(REACT) in science learning that is produced towards aspects of improving student achievement, support for the implementation of junior high school science teacher duties, especially in student-oriented learning design in combining theory and practice, implementing practicums and evaluating science learning outcomes in Southeast Maluku Regency. The expected benefits in this PKM are to motivate teachers to be creative in designing and preparing learning devices in the classroom and laboratory that are oriented towards students based on the environment, so that the learning process can take place properly. While for students, it can provide a clear understanding of the material presented by the teacher, so that students are able to find explanations and provide responses to what they are learning. In addition, students are trained to find out for themselves what they observe and try to describe the concept through student worksheets prepared with the help of the CPS learning model using REACT. Therefore, the CPS learning model using REACT in science learning that is designed is collaborated with several methods, namely reflective lectures, discovery, inquiry, demonstrations and questions and answers and recitations to express various concepts that are being studied in class and can be applied in everyday life

Abstract

Community Service (known with PkM) activities were carried out by providing training to teachers in North West Seram District, Central Maluku Regency. This activity aims to provide insight into the development of teacher professionalism, more specifically how deep the application of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) in learning activities in schools. The activity was carried out through direct face-to-face meetings with teachers. The results of this service are known that teachers gain a lot of knowledge about strategies for connecting learning with a cultural background and referring to the level of student ability. In addition, more than 100 teachers were satisfied with the activities carried out, which were based on the level of student knowledge with the TaRL approach using the problem-based learning model. The teachers hope that the PkM Team can continue to provide assistance so that the implementation of learning activities in the classroom can run well. This is because TaRL is a new method for teachers in remote areas so that it requires adjustments in implementation in learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the material mastery of class VIII students of SMP Al-Wathan Ambon on light material which is taught using the search, solve, create and share (SSCS) learning model. The sample in this study were students in class VIII2, totaling 22 people obtained using a purposive sampling method. Meanwhile, the instruments used to collect data were carried out using test and non-test instruments. Furthermore, to analyze the data that had been obtained, the achievement score formula and Gain test were used to determine the increase in mastery of the material that had been taught using the SSCS model. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be seen that prior to being taught using the SSCS learning model students were categorized as failed by obtaining an average score of the initial test achievement obtained was 10.79. After being taught using the SSCS learning model, students get an increase in mastery of higher material. These results can be seen based on the average score of the students' final test, namely 82.67 and are in good and sufficient qualifications. In addition, there was an increase in class VIII2 students' mastery of the material on light. These results can be proven by the results of the Gain test which states that the average <g> value of students is 0.79 which is in high qualification. Therefore, it can be concluded that using the SSCS learning model can improve students' mastery of light in class VIII2 SMP Al-Wathan Ambon.

Abstract

The lack of variety in the use of learning methods causes the learning process in the classroom to tend to be monotonous and has an impact on the low active participation of students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of experimental methods in improving mastery of static fluid material. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach with the subject of students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 57 Central Maluku, which amounted to 18 people, and was used as a single sample because there was only one class. Data collection instruments were carried out through tests (pretest and posttest), as well as non-test instruments in the form of Learner Worksheets. The results showed that before learning using the experimental method, all students were in the “Fail” category. After the learning process took place for three meetings, there was a significant increase in mastery of the material. The average achievement score of students is in the “Good” category. The N-Gain test results showed an average increase of 0.78 with a “High” qualification. This finding shows that the experimental method can significantly improve concept understanding and mastery of static fluid material. Therefore, the application of the experimental method is feasible to use as an innovative learning strategy in Physics subjects at the high school level.
