Abstract

The implementation of the pandemic status and restrictions on social interaction in various lines of human life (including education) have a negative impact on human mental health. A mental health disorder that usually arises due to a lack of social interaction is loneliness. If the loneliness experienced by individuals cannot be handled properly, it can trigger other disorders such as depression. The purpose of this study was to find out how big and significant the loneliness variable was on depression in students who were undergoing online learning. This research is an Expost Facto type, the population that is the subject of the research is Guidance and Counseling students at the University in Salatiga. The sampling technique used proportional stratified random sampling with a margin of error of 10% and the subjects were 53 individuals. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression with the help of the Statistics Program for Service Solution version 16.0 for Windows. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it is found that the R-value is 0.733 which means that the level of closeness of the relationship is in a strong category. While the R2 value is 0.537, which means that the lonely variable contributes to the depression variable by 53.7%. Then the significance coefficient value is 0.000 <0.05, which means that the lonely variable has a significant influence on depression experienced by students during the pandemic.

Abstract

Role conflict is experienced by students when incompatible demands relatively rated to a set of standards or conditions that influence their role performance. When students continuously experience role conflict, it leads to academic burnout. Therefore, this research aims to determine the significant effect of role conflict on academic burnout of undergraduate economics students. This is a quantitative research, with data obtained from a total of 114 undergraduate economics students consisting of 29% males and 71% females using the Role Questionnaire (Rizzo et al., 1970) and Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-SS) (Schaufeli et al., 2002). The result of simple linear regression analysis showed that the values of βand sig. are 0.023 and 0.343 (>0.05), which means that the effect of role conflict on academic burnout among students is insignificant.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the variables of religiosity, depression and math anxiety simultaneously in the Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU FTI) Informatics Engineering students class of 2017 who are scholarship recipients from the Bengkayang Regency government. This research is a correlational research type with the number of respondents as many as 34 individuals. The sampling technique used was total sampling, in which all populations were sampled. The analysis technique used is multiple correlation with a significance coefficient of Sig <0.05, it is stated that there is a significant relationship. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that there was no significant relationship between the variables of religiosity, depression and math anxiety simultaneously. This can be seen from the multiple correlation significance coefficient of 0.601> 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between cigarette addiction, simultaneous smartphone addiction and self-control. The subjects who became respondents were students who live in the male dormitory of Satya Wacana Christian University, totalling 109 students as the population. The sampling technique chosen was purposive sampling with the criteria of students who were active smokers and were involved in using smartphones. The research method used is correlational quantitative. The sample consisted of 33 students. The analysis technique used is the multiple correlation formula. Based on the results of various correlation analyzes, the R-value is -0.350 in the opposite direction. For comparison, the Fcount value is found to be 2.128 and the F table with a significant 5% of 4,130. In other words, Fcount <Ftable, which means there is no significant relationship. The results of this study found that there was no significant relationship between cigarette addiction, simultaneous smartphone addiction and self-control.

Abstract

This paper proves that spiritual capital is the driving force of entrepreneurial spirit. Spirituality comes from religious values, traditions, and the environment. It can be seen in the community of Tetep, Dukuh Gambirsari Kelurahan Randuacir, Salatiga, Central Java. The entrepreneurial spirit in this community develops due to the impacts of spirituality that manifest in daily practice. The approach of this paper is autoethnography, which is a narrative study based on the experiences of individuals and communities in society. The research utilizes the theories of capital developed by Karl Marx, Weber, and Pierre Bourdieu. Marx emphasized that humans are beings who work, and material possessions serve as the driving force behind work. Weber argues that economic development is closely intertwined with non-economic factors. Bourdieu conceptualizes capital across various dimensions-economic, cultural, social, and symbolic – which are interconnected with habitus and field. The spiritual capital that grows through the practice of life shows that people have the ability to manifest the appreciation of spirituality into the power to survive and thrive amid changing times. In its development, it was also found that some members of the community did not view their businesses solely as a means of survival, but rather as a source of livelihood that created jobs for many people. This spiritual capital is developed in concrete actions through the creations of self-employment in the form of trade and service business. The development of an entrepreneurial society with all its implementations can be used in this approach. Spiritual capital gives rise to fortitude, perseverance, courage to take risks, learners, gratitude, fruitfulness, and honesty. This spirit became the driving force of capitalism for marginalized communities, known as marginal capitalism or village capitalism. They proved the values, culture, and norms of society.
