Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain differences in musical tastes in upper social class. The study also describes the relationship between musical tastes with the political groups in the community of Indonesia in Sukarno era. As a conceptual basis, we use the views of Bourdieu about habitus, arenas, andcultural capital. Also used a conceptual view of the Schuessler relationship of musical tastes and ages.This case study concludes that the old group closed with the development of new music tends to assume the old music as the best. On the other side, the young man open to the development of new types of music. Besides, the differences in musical tastes of young and old groups lead to a clash between them. Differences in their taste of music creates an identity as a differentiator between them, resulting in a process of political groups in it.Keywords: musical tastes, political group, age and identity

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan membahas dan mengkritisi penggunaan bebunyian kultural ganrang pa’balle dalam konteks ritual pernikahan masyarakat Makassar. Data yang diperoleh berdasarkan observasi dan analisis literatur menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pola tabuhan ganrang pa’balle jika digunakan dalam pernikahan kalangan karaeng, anak karaeng paninik dan tau samarak. Berdasar dari konsep pemikiran Bourdieu, hal itu merupakan strategi distinction. Strategi ini digunakan oleh kalangan karaeng untuk melegitimasi dominasi relasi kuasanya terhadap kelas di bawahnya dalam konteks arena sosial.Kata kunci: ganrang pa’balle, pernikahan, distinction, dan relasi kuasa

Abstract

Matematika sering dipersepsikan sebagai mata pelajaran yang abstrak dan sulit, terutama bagi siswa sekolah dasar ketika harus menghafal dan menerapkan rumus. Kondisi ini sering memicu kecemasan matematika dan rendahnya motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan pendekatan IRAMA (Innovation Approach of Mathematical Formulas through Music and Activities) sebagai strategi mnemonik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengingat dan menerapkan rumus matematika. Penelitian menggunakan desain studi kasus kualitatif dengan melibatkan 32 siswa kelas IV dan dua guru matematika di SDI JIS Jakarta. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, tugas tertulis siswa, dan wawancara guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam recall dan penerapan rumus, dari 56% sebelum intervensi menjadi 87% setelah penerapan IRAMA. Selain itu, pendekatan ini juga meningkatkan keterlibatan, mengurangi kecemasan, serta membangun sikap positif siswa terhadap matematika. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa IRAMA tidak hanya efektif secara kognitif tetapi juga berkontribusi pada penguatan aspek afektif dan sosial dalam pembelajaran matematika.
