Abstract

Indonesia merupakan lumbung jagung dunia dan menempati peringkat ke-8 dengan kontribusi 2,06% terhadap produksi jagung dunia. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik Nusa Tenggara Barat tahun 2018 produktifitas jagung khususnya kabupaten bima luas panen 18.695 ha dengan rata-rata produksi 58,58 kw/ha dan produksi 109.508,10 ton. Peningkatan produksi jagung yang tidak diikuti dengan penanganan pasca panen yang baik menyebabkan peluang kerusakan biji akibat kesalahan penanganan dapat mencapai 12-15% dari total produksi dengan ini penelitian betujuan untuk merancang alat mesin pengupas jagung menggunakan dynamo elektrik yang praktis dan ekonomis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode experimental dengan melakukan percobaan merancang alat mesin secara langsung di perbengkelan, Pengujian performansi dilakukan dengan perlakuan jagung 3 tahap yaitu 1 kg, 2 kg dan 3 kg. dan untuk menguji alat mesin ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil rancangan alat mesin pengupas jagung menggunakan dynamo elektrik Mesin motor elektrik yang digunakan dalam rancang alat pengupasan tongkol jagung ini adalah berdaya 0,5 HP dengan kecepatan putaran maksimal 1500 rpm, dan nilai torsi sebesar 6,363 Nm. Berkapasitas kerja alat pengupasan tongkol jagung yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 489,258 gr/detik. Persentase biji jagung yang tercampur dengan tongkol pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 0,318 %, Persentase biji jagung yang tertinggal pada alat pengupasan n tongkol jagung ini adalah sebanyak 1,866%. Mesin pengupas biji jagung merupakan alat yang sangat efektif hal ini dilihat dari kapasitas produksi, persentase biji tertinggal pada alat dan persentase biji tercampur tongkol.

Abstract

Sumbawa Regency exhibits relatively dry soil characteristics due to limited water availability resulting from low rainfall levels. One of the plants suitable for cultivation in this area is sorghum. Sorghum is a viable alternative to rice and corn, as its seed market price is comparatively high. In addition to the limited rainfall in this region, farmers have faced challenges in optimizing crop yields to meet the nutritional needs of their plants. One approach is to optimize the utilization of inorganic and organic fertilizers as supplementary complex plant nutrients. The proposed approach involves using appropriately dosed organic fertilizers, which is anticipated to diminish reliance on excessive inorganic fertilizers. This study aimed to determine the effect of different doses of organic fertilizers on various varieties of sorghum in dryland plantations located in Sumbawa Regency. The experimental design used was Split Plot Design, with sorghum varieties (Bioguma, GBE Methane, and Sweetbetty) as the main-plot and organic fertilizer doses (0, 50, 100, and 200 g/plant) as sub-plots. The results of this study indicated that the interaction between varieties and organic fertilizers on plant growth promotes an increase in plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, and leaf length. At the end of the plant height observation (42–49 days after sowing), the combination of treatments resulted in an increase in plant height. During the initial growth phases, certain variables showed responses in terms of leaf quantity (7 and 28 days after sowing) and leaf length (14–28 days after sowing). Sweetbetty and GBE Methane show enhanced plant growth; Sweetbetty shows higher plant height and leaf quantity, whereas GBE Methane demonstrates optimal stem diameter and leaf length, compared to Bioguma (a variety from Indonesia

Abstract

Sorghum is an ancient grain that has good performance and adaptation in extreme condition. The crop is a stress-resilient crop with highly productive NADP-ME type C4 photosynthesis and highly efficient nitrogen and water utilization. Sorghum also requires relatively less water than other important cereals such as maize and wheat. Sorghum cultivation is very suitable to be carried out in Sumbawa Regency because it has the characteristic of low rainfall. The most common obstacle that occurs in sorghum cultivation is not being able to maximize plant genetics and existing nutrients, so that plant yields are low. One of them is by applying organic fertilizer. The interest in the use of organic fertilizers is increasing due to polluting effects of chemical fertilizers in the aerial and soil environment and gradual decline in the soil fertility. The aim of this study was to determine the yield of plants with different doses of organic fertilizers and sorghum varieties in Sumbawa Regency. This research used Split Plot Design consisting of two plots. The main plot three sorghum varieties were evaluated including V1 = Bioguma, V2 = GBE Methane, and V3 = Sweetbetty. The subplot is the application of solid organic fertilizer including T0 = control, T1 = 50 g plant-1, T2 = 100 g plant-1, and T3 = 200 g plant-1. This study had 3 replications and 36 experimental units. The results show that organic fertilizer application doses can cause significant differences in root weight, dry weight, fresh weight, grain weight/plant, weight 1000 grains, productivity, panicle length, and flowering age. Then, different types of sorghum also cause significant differences in grain weight per plant, weight of 1000 grains, and productivity. The best productivity is found at 200 g plant-1 of organic fertilizer. Optimal fertilizer application produces better grain.

Abstract

Tanaman karet (Hevea brasiliensis) merupakan komoditas penghasil lateks yang penting dalam industri perkebunan di Indonesia. Produksi lateks merupakan proses yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya adalah waktu penyadapan yang tepat dan klon tanaman karet yang digunakan. Kedua faktor ini sangat penting dalam menentukan kuantitas dan kualitas lateks yang dihasilkan dari tanaman karet. Penyadapan yang dilakukan pada waktu yang tidak tepat dapat mengurangi hasil lateks yang diperoleh, sementara pemilihan klon yang tidak sesuai dengan kondisi iklim dan lingkungan juga dapat memengaruhi produktivitas secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan waktu penyadapan yang tepat pada beberapa klon tanaman karet di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada memaksimalkan hasil volume lateks. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (randomized block design) pada variasi waktu penyadapan yang berbeda sebagai perlakuan. Tanaman karet yang yang digunakan adalah klon PR300 dan PB260. Setiap klon dievaluasi waktu penyadapan yang berbeda-beda, yaitu pukul 03:30 WIB., 05:00 WIB dan 06:30 WIB. Parameter yang diamati yaitu kecepatan aliran lateks per satuan waktu dan volume lateks dengan satuan volume per pohon per rotasi penyadapan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan analisis of varian (ANOVA) kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata terkecil BNT pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan waktu penyadapan yang terbaik untuk menghasilkan produktivitas yang optimal adalah pukul 05.00 WIB untuk klon PR300 dan PB260.

Abstract

Produksi jagung dunia menempati urutan ketiga setelah padi dan gandum. Distribusi penanaman jagung terus meluas di berbagai negara karena tanaman ini mempunyai daya adaptasi yang luas di daerah subtropik ataupun tropik. Indonesia menempati urutan ke-8 dengan produksi jagung sekitar 2,06 %. Produksi jagung terbesar di 12 Provinsi dan 45 Kabupaten, Berdasarkan data badan statistik di Nusa Tenggara Barat produksi jagung sebesar 20,67 juta ton atau naik 1,66 pada tahun 2015 di bandingkan pada tahun 2014. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode ekperimental dengan percobaan merancang alat mesin secara langsung di perbengkelan. Pengujian performansi dengan perlakuan jagung 3 tahap yaitu 0,015 kg, 0,016 kg dan 0,016 kg. Pengujian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian pada waktu kerja yang paling lama adalah pada percobaan ketiga yakni 45,50 menit sedangkan waktu yang paling cepat yakni pada perlakuan pertama yakni 15,47 menit dan pengujian alat dilakukan tiga perlakuan dengan bobot bahan berbeda yakni perlakuan pertama 0,25 kg, perlakuan kedua 0,5 kg, dan perlakuan ketiga 0,75 kg. Efisiensi kerja alat perlakuan pertama, kedua, dan ketiga masing-masing sebesar 93, 95 dan 97%. Efisiensi yang paling tinggi terjadi pada perlakuan ketiga yakni yakni sebesar 97%. Efisiensi yang paling rendah adalah perlakuan pertama yakni 0,93 atau 93%. Kapasitas kerja alat pada perlakuan pertama sebesar 0,015 kg/menit. Adapun perlakukan kedua dan ketiga kapasitas kerja alat memiliki nilai yang sama, yakni 0,016 kg/menit.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dosing POC vegetable waste with rhizofite bacteria on three varieties of lettuce plants. This research was conducted in Mulyoagung Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. Altitude ± 600 m asl. The start of research will be carried out in May – July 2023. The design used is a factorial random group design (RAK) and is repeated three times. The first factor is the lettuce plant variety while the second factor is the dose of POC, (liquid organic fertilizer) in the first factor, lettuce varieties (F), consist of: F1 = butter lettuce, f2 = green curly lettuce, F3 = red curly lettuce. In the second factor, the dose of liquid fertilizer (K) consists of: K1 = 50 ml, K2 = 100 ml, K3 = 150 ml. The conclusion of this study was that at the age of 14, 21, and 28 days after planting (HST), there was a significant interaction in the number of leaves with the best combination obtained in lettuce butter varieties using 50 ml of liquid organic fertilizer (POC). This variety shows superior performance in growth compared to green curly lettuce and red lettuce varieties. Applying POC as much as 50 ml significantly affects the number of leaves at the age of 14, 21, and 28 HST, leaf area at 21 HST, and the wet and dry weight of the upper part of the plant. However, this feeding did not show a significant effect on the wet and dry weight of the roots.

Abstract

Post-harvest diseases caused by pathogenic fungi are one of the real threats to the availability and quality of potato seedlings and tubers (Solanum tuberosum L.), especially in traditional warehouse storage and guidance systems. This descriptive research was carried out using a survey method with the aim of inventorying the diversity of disease-causing fungi, as well as measuring the intensity of infection in potato tuber seedlings in two traditional storage warehouse locations, on Lombok Island. The research series will be carried out from October 2023 to January 2024.  Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. The results of the study showed that the average value of disease intensity in potato tuber seedlings in the traditional storage warehouse of Setiling Village reached 19.29%, while in the warehouse of Santong Village reached 17.79%. The results of the identification of pathogenic fungi revealed that there were differences in the distribution of species based on storage locations. In potato tuber seedlings in the nursery warehouse of Setiling Village, a species of fungus Fusarium sp. and Phytophthora infestans., while in the nursery warehouse of Santong Village, the results of the identification of Rhizoctonia sp. and Fusarium sp. The characteristics of the storage environment are also noted: the average temperature in the warehouse in Setiling ranges from 22–29ºC with a humidity of 80–99%, and in Santong Village, the temperature is 24–30ºC with a humidity of 78–92%. The results of this study indicate that the environmental conditions in both warehouses have the potential to support the development of certain pathogens. Abstract

Fruit flies (Bactrocera spp.) are among the most serious pests in citrus production due to their high infestation potential and detrimental effects on fruit quality. This study examined fruit fly abundance based on sex and citrus tree clones and evaluated the impact of trap placement position on fruit fly populations in Sleman Regency, Indonesia. The experiment was conducted in August 2025 at Pusat Inovasi Agroteknologi, Universitas Gadjah Mada, employing a Completely Randomized Block Design with four trap placement treatments: medium inside, high inside, medium outside, and high outside. Medium and high trap heights were set at 1 m and 2 m above ground level, respectively, with traps positioned either inside or outside the tree canopy. Observations were performed at two-day intervals over 15 observation periods on three citrus species: Siamese orange (Citrus nobilis Lour.), kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix), and grapefruit (Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr.). The results showed that fruit fly abundance was consistently higher in traps installed outside the tree canopy than in those placed inside across all citrus species and observation periods. No significant differences were detected between medium and high trap heights within the same placement location. Female fruit flies exhibited greater population variability than males, indicating higher sensitivity to environmental factors. Furthermore, correlation analysis revealed strong positive relationships among citrus clones, suggesting similar levels of susceptibility to fruit fly infestation. In conclusion, the findings highlight that trap placement location plays a more decisive role than trap height in influencing fruit fly abundance on citrus trees.

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a strategic plantation crop contributing significantly to global sugar production. Early growth performance is a critical phase determining stand establishment and subsequent productivity, particularly in vegetative propagation systems using stem cuttings (setts). This study aimed to evaluate the early growth performance of the RGM 1010 Cultivar of sugarcane based on different stem sett positions (top, middle, and bottom) using a Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. The experiment was conducted from July 2025 to January 2026 at the Experimental Farm of Politeknik Negeri Lampung, Indonesia. Observed parameters up to 10 weeks after planting (WAP) included survival percentage, plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, and number of internodes. Analysis of variance at the 5% significance level showed that sett position significantly affected survival percentage and plant height. The top setts produced the highest survival rate (92.5%) and plant height (153.5 cm), followed by middle and bottom setts. In contrast, number of leaves, leaf length, and number of internodes were not significantly influenced by sett position. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a weak and non-significant negative relationship (r = –0.324) between plant height and leaf number, indicating that stem elongation and leaf formation were relatively independent during early growth. The superior performance of top setts is attributed to higher meristematic activity and hormonal balance, promoting faster shoot and root initiation. Overall, while all sett positions were viable for vegetative propagation, top setts demonstrated better early vigor, providing practical implications for improving seedling establishment efficiency in sugarcane cultivation.

Abstract

The productivity of paddy fields in Indonesia still faces various obstacles, especially related to the decline in soil fertility due to the continuous use of inorganic fertilizers and the lack of optimal management of organic matter. Efforts to increase rice production need to be carried out through the application of fertilization technology that is able to improve soil conditions while increasing the efficiency of nutrient absorption. One alternative that can be applied is the combination of the use of NPK fertilizers and eco-enzymes in rice field cultivation. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of NPK fertilizers and eco-enzymes on the growth and yield of rice fields of the INPARI 32 variety. The research was carried out in Boak Village, Moyo Hulu District, Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, from December 2025 to March 2026. The study was compiled using a Group Random Design (RAK) factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer which consists of three levels, namely P1 = 150 kg/ha, P2 = 300 kg/ha, and P3 = 450 kg/ha. The second factor is the concentration of eco-enzymes which consists of three levels, namely E1 = 10 ml/L of water, E2 = 20 ml/L of water, and E3 = 30 ml/L of water. Each treatment was repeated three times so that 27 experimental units were obtained. The observed parameters included plant height, number of seedlings, number of productive saplings, panicle length, grain weight per panicle, grain weight per clump, and weight of 1000 grains. The observation data were analyzed using multiple analysis (ANOVA) at a real level of 5% and continued with the Smallest Real Difference Test (BNT) at the level of 5% if the treatment showed a real effect. The results of the study showed that the application of NPK fertilizer had a real effect on plant height, number of productive saplings, panicle length, grain weight per clump, and weight of 1000 grains of rice field of INPARI 32 variety. NPK fertilizer treatment at a dose of 300 kg/ha (P2) provided the best response on most observation parameters. The application of eco-enzymes has a real effect on plant height and grain weight per clump, but it has no real effect on the number of productive saplings, panicle length, grain weight per panicle, and weight of 1000 grains. Eco-enzyme treatment with a concentration of 30 ml/L (E3) tends to produce better plant growth and yield than other treatments. In general, the combination of NPK fertilizer and eco-enzyme applications has the potential to increase the growth and yield of INPARI 32 rice fields through increasing the availability of nutrients and improving soil biological conditions.
