Abstract

This study examines the phonological varieties of Acehnese numeral words, using primary data from ten villages in the Aceh Jaya district on the west coast of Aceh, Indonesia, and supplementing it with secondary data from Standard Acehnese, Proto-Chamic, and other relevant languages and proto-languages. The research aims to elucidate the historical relationship between the Acehnese and Chamic languages through a comparative analysis. Fifteen numeral words (one to ten, eleven, twelve, twenty, one hundred, and one thousand) were elicited from informants aged 40 to 65. The collected data were recorded, transcribed into IPA symbols, and subsequently analysed. The findings indicate that the split between the Acehnese-Chamic branch and the Malayic languages occurred during the period when the terms for 'eight' and 'nine' were still undergoing lexical stabilisation. The Acehnese language was then subgrouped from Chamic, initially as a dialect. A few centuries later, the ancestors of the Acehnese migrated from mainland Southeast Asia to Sumatra, where their numeral system was subsequently influenced by borrowing from the Malay language. The dialects spoken on the west coast of Aceh retain linguistic evidence of the presence of a language similar to Proto-Chamic and its early contact with indigenous Sumatran populations, and those from the Malay Peninsula.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of implementing academic supervision on improving the performance of high school teachers in Subulussalam City in teaching. This type of research is experimental research with a pre-test and post-test design. The population in this study were all SMAN teachers in Subulussalam City, totaling 268 people. Meanwhile, the sample in this study consisted of 20 teachers whose performance was still low. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The instrument used to determine teacher performance in implementing the learning process is in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon test. The research results show that the implementation of academic supervision has an effect on improving teacher performance in implementing the learning process. This is illustrated by the results of the Wilcoxon Test which was carried out with the result obtained Jcount = 0. With α = 0.05 and n=20, then based on the list, Jtable = 52. From these data it can be seen that Jcount is smaller than the Jtable value, so Ho is rejected. This is reinforced by the Z formula equation. Because the calculated z value is -2.803 and this value is smaller than the table z value, namely -1.96. Therefore, Ho is rejected so that the teacher's performance in implementing the learning process increases after being given academic supervision.

Abstract

This research topic discusses the religious values contained in a poem by analyzing the poems of the traditional ceremony of turun tanah (land descent) of the Aceh Besar community. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis of the poems. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and audio-video recordings, then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that poems such as Marhaban, Tala'al Badru 'Alayna, Mahalluqiyamin, Ya Nabi Salam 'Alaika, Keu Aneuk Manyak, and Peutron Aneuk contain religious values in the form of traditional rituals that serve as a medium for character education. The value of worship is evident in the poems of marhaban, shalawat, and prayers offered as a form of obedience to Allah and respect for the Prophet Muhammad. The value of ruhul jihad reflects the spirit of struggle inherited through the poem Tala'al Badru 'Alayna, which depicts the Prophet's journey of hijrah as a symbol of the struggle to establish Islam. The value of exemplary behavior is strengthened by depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a role model to be emulated in everyday life. The value of trust is evident in prayers that children grow into obedient individuals who are responsible to God, their parents, and society. Meanwhile, the value of sincerity is evident in the prayers and hopes offered by parents selflessly, solely for God's pleasure.
