Abstract

Indonesia's coffee consumption over the last five years has shown an increase that is consistent with the current average estimate of coffee consumption per capita in Indonesia at around 1.11 kg/capita/year. Exports in the form of beans (green beans and roasts) decreased, on the other hand exports in the form of powder, instant coffee, and coffee drinks continued to increase, except for instant coffee in 2019 which suddenly declined. The stock of coffee beans in Indonesia in the last 5 years has decreased. Coffee imports by Indonesia over the last 5 years have continued to increase, except in the form of roasted beans which have decreased slightly. The stock of coffee beans in Indonesia for the last 5 years has continued to decline. Seeing this phenomenon, researchers are interested in factors that influence the learning process in counseling in Kepahyang Regency. Determination of respondents using the method of arikunto 10% of the total population, then obtained as many as 496 respondents who will be selected randomly. Analysis of research data using path equations, while data processing uses AMOS 22 software. The results show that the variables that have a significant influence on farmers' perceptions of the learning process in extension are; X2 (Farming experience), X4 (Farmers' participation in community institutions), X5 (Access to information), X7 (Farmers' perceptions of government policies). Abstract

Agricultural extension workers are expected to be able to increase farmer participation in collaborating by participating in work program activities and supporting the work program so that the expected goals can be achieved. Agricultural extension workers have a strategic role in increasing the income of farming communities. The issue of food security is not only in Indonesia, in other parts of the world the issue of food security is one of the priorities of world countries. Food is the most important basic human need and its fulfillment is part of the human rights guaranteed in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as a basic component for creating quality human resources. Realizing food security through agricultural extension as an agricultural country that has abundant soil fertility and local potential. The role of extension is very important to help increase agricultural productivity, support national food security and create farmer welfare. In order to examine several factors and the role of counseling that can support human rights in food security, the researchers conducted a study using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data analysis was done using Microsoft Excel and the Bibliometric application to capture global trends from existing research. Data collection was carried out using the Prism Protocol. An in-depth analysis was conducted on 30 articles that discussed the role of extension workers in realizing food security. Based on the research results, it is proposed that the role of extension workers needs to be increased as a determinant of welfare for farmers. The researcher recommends that there should be strategic efforts so that extension agents play a more effective role for small-scale farmers to achieve food security.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to understand the motivations of coffee farmers, specifically those practicing the "petik pelangi" method, in Bukit Sari Village, Kabawetan District, Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu Province. Methodology: The research employed a Likert scale method, sampling 35 respondents. Factors such as age, education level, and experience were analyzed to determine their impact on farmers' motivations. Results: The study found that internal factors such as age (34-59 years), education level (mostly higher education), and experience significantly influence farmers' motivation. Additionally, land ownership size and family dependents also affect motivation. Findings: Internal factors had a slightly higher average motivation score (17.6) compared to external factors (17.46). The price difference between "petik merah" and "petik pelangi" coffee reflects complex market dynamics. Despite the higher price of "petik merah" coffee, many farmers and the community prefer the "petik pelangi" method due to the motivation to harvest coffee when it is still colorful. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the motivations behind the "petik pelangi" coffee harvesting method, highlighting the factors that influence farmers' choices. Originality: The study offers an in-depth understanding of the internal and external factors affecting coffee farmers' motivations, with a focus on a unique harvesting method that is less commonly studied. Conclusions: Internal factors such as age, education level, and experience are significant motivators for coffee farmers practicing the "petik pelangi" method. Despite the higher market value of "petik merah" coffee, the colorful harvest method remains popular due to intrinsic motivations. Abstract: The village of Panca Mukti is home to the Sekar Wangi Women Farmers Group (KWT), which is expected to maximize the role of women in the village's agricultural sector. Despite the contributions of KWT Sekar Wangi to agricultural production in the area, field observations have revealed challenges in managing agricultural waste, particularly those generated from oil palm farming activities, which remain inadequately processed. The objective of this community service initiative is to enhance the skills of the partners by utilizing palm frond waste to create economically valuable products. The method employed in this service activity is participatory, involving 40 women members of KWT Sekar Wangi. The training was conducted through both theoretical instruction and hands-on practice in crafting woven plates from palm fronds. The outcomes of this program include a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of the partners in processing agricultural waste into high-value economic products, specifically woven palm frond crafts. A total of 35 members, or 87% of the participants, successfully created woven products and have begun marketing them both offline and online.
