Abstract

Leneng River is one of the rivers in Praya City, Central Lombok Regency, which receives domestic, agricultural, and household industrial waste. Various community activities along the banks of the Leneng River have affected river water quality. Some communities on the banks of the Leneng River, from upstream to downstream, still use river water for their daily needs. This study aims to 1) analyze the water quality of the Leneng River in terms of environmental parameters (Physical, chemical, and biological) and 2) Determine the level of pollution of the Leneng River water using the Pollution Index (IP) method. River water quality measurements were carried out at 3 (three) sample points. Parameters measured and observed were physical parameters, namely Total Solid Suspend (TSS); chemical parameters, namely pH, Total Phosphate (T.PO4), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), and biological parameters namely Total coliform and Fecal Coliform. This type of research is survey research with a quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed that the TSS value at sample point 1 (upstream) exceeded the required quality standard; the highest TSS concentration value was 54 mg/L, and the lowest at sample point 2 (middle section) was 2.50 mg/L. Value parameter concentration pH 7.7-8.7, T.PO4 value 0.05 mg/L-0.29 mg/L, BOD value 0.17-0.42 mg/L, COD concentration value 8 mg/L -9mg/L, and DO value of 6.07 mg/L-7.57 mg/L, this shows that the concentration for chemical parameters still meets the class I water quality standards according to PP 22 of 2021, while the total coliform parameter value and Facel coliform have exceeded class I water quality standards. The total coliform concentration value is 10,000 - 20,000 MPN/100 mL, and the Fecal coliform value is 600 MPN/100 mL – 2,500 MPN/100 mL, while based on the Pollution Index (IP) quality status water in the upstream with a value of 2.84, the middle part of 1.97, and the downstream part of 2.84, this shows a decrease in water quality from upstream to downstream of the river, with a level of pollution in the lightly polluted category.

Abstract

The Meninting Sub-watershed area, West Lombok Regency is one of the areas prone to landslides. This is due to the topographic conditions of the area which are dominated by very steep slopes. Landslides are one of the disasters that often occur, especially in West Lombok Regency. High rainfall intensity with a long duration is one of the factors causing erosion and landslides on critical slopes. This service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge and insight of the community around the Meninting watershed, especially in the Lingsar District, regarding the risk of landslides and mitigation actions that can be taken. The target of this service is the Lingsar District  Government and surrounding communities affected by the landslide disaster. The result of this service activity is an agreement on a follow-up plan for this activity with the Lingsar District and also the affected communities. This agreement is demonstrated by the willingness of the service target community to utilize data and information disseminated in various disaster mitigation and adaptation actions. Mitigation actions that can be taken include mapping areas prone to landslides, controlling land use, improving the quality of infrastructure, education and training and emergency planning. Handling adaptation to landslide disasters can be done by arranging housing, strengthening infrastructure, utilizing technology, increasing community capacity, and sustainable environmental management.

Abstract

The Mataram University campus has shade trees in almost all area units, some of which are still quite ideal and some of which show problems with tree architecture deviations, such as trunk declivity and canopy inclination, which can cause the risk of tree fall. This study was conducted to analyze the distribution of tree fall risk based on tall, trunk declivity and canopy inclination on the Mataram University campus. The sample area was taken using the purposive sampling method and then sampling trees in each sample area unit using the quarter method. Tree variables observed were tall, trunk declivity and canopy inclination. The data were processed respectively to produce tree tall, trunk declivity, and canopy inclination classes. These data were then further analysed in an integrated manner to produce a value of tree-fall hazard risk. These tree-fall hazard values were interpreted into 5 categories, namely not hazardous, somewhat hazardous, quite hazardus, hazardous, and very hazardous. The results show that of the 108 shade trees on the Mataram University campus, 38.01% of the trees were in categories requiring immediate attention or action (moderately hazardous to very hazardous). Zone 1 was the only zone with the highest risk (0.93% very hazardous).

Abstract

Combining the concept of ecotourism with culinary delights based on local food resources in coastal communities in West Lombok district is one form of appropriate development strategy that will make the West Lombok district region have its own development characteristics leading to sustainable tourism and tourism support which will become the concept of future tourism development. This research examines in more depth the ethnoecological aspects of coastal communities, especially regarding local food. Through this research, data will be obtained regarding the diversity of local food types in coastal communities, mapping community wisdom in processing and utilizing local food. Local community interactions and perceptions of local food diversity. The type of research used is descriptive exploratory with research techniques in the form of exploration. The sampling techniques used in the research were purpose sampling and snowball sampling. Research data collection uses several techniques, including random observation to obtain qualitative and quantitative data on local food typical of the island of Lombok, which uses an open questionnaire targeting local communities according to predetermined criteria. The research results show that coastal communities have more food resources originating from marine resources, both fish and non-fish, these food resources are still protected because most people still harvest the results using simple equipment. There are around 11 types of processed food as a family practice. Tuna fish has the highest ICS (Index of Cultural Significance) value while mackerel fish has the highest variety of uses. Shrimp is the fish group that has the highest ICS value, while cassava leaves have the highest ICS value for the vegetable group. The local wisdom of the community which originates from their ancestors in order to protect their environmental resources is still maintained today.

Abstract

The Srigangga River is one of the main rivers flowing into the Batujai Reservoir basin in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Communities around this area still use river water to fulfill their daily needs. The many activities of residents around this river area affect the decline in river water quality. This research aims to determine river water quality based on physical, chemical, and biological parameters and determine the river water pollution index using the pollution index method. This type of research is a descriptive research method with a laboratory-based approach; sampling locations are carried out in the river's upstream, middle, and downstream parts. The parameters analyzed include pH, TSS, DO, COD, BOD, Phosphorus content, total coliform, and Escherichia coli. The research results show that of the 8 (eight) parameters tested in the upstream, middle, and downstream parts of the Srigangga River, 4 (four) parameters are above the quality standards determined based on PP RI No.22 of 2021. The water pollution index value shows that the Srigangga River is already polluted in the light category
