Abstract

The traditional use of plants by people in Indonesia has been done since centuries ago. However, there are still many regions that do not already have proper documentation on this matter. This ethnobotany research aimed to analyze the forms of plant utilization and local wisdom in plant management by the indigenous people of Dusun Beleq, Gumantar Village, Kayangan District, North Lombok Regency. This research is a descriptive exploratory survey. Data collection was done by means of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. Selection of informants was using purposive and snowball sampling methods. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed descriptively based on observations, interviews and ICS (Index of Cultural Significance) calculations.There were 10 kinds of plant utilization involving 86 species from 36 families. The plants were used as food, medicine, ritual plants, firewood, fodder plants, construction materials, handicrafts, aromatic plants, dyes and natural pesticides. Most of the plant species was used as food (41 species) with rice (Oryza sativa) as a plant with the highest ICS value among all plants in all categories (74 species). Local wisdom in term of natural resources utilization was reflected in community efforts in forest preservation, plants conservation, plants cultivation and harvesting. The novelty of this study is the revealment of local knowledge in plants utilization possessed by people in traditional village. This results of this study are expected to support the preservation of biological and cultural resources.

Abstract

Desa penimbung merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Gunung Sari, Lombok Barat. Desa penimbung khususnya warga dusun Penimbung Timur banyak melakukan pembuangan sampah disungai karena belum adanya fasilitas seperti TPS (Tempat Penampungan Sementara) dan mobil pengangkut sampah, sedangkan TPA (Tempat pembuangan akhir) berjarak lumayan jauh dari Desa tersebut. Tujuan dari program pengolahan sampah ini yaitu meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat agar tidak membuang sampah di tempat yang sembarangan seperti sungai serta dapat berkontribusi dalam upaya mengurangi tumpukan sampah dan mengolah sampah menjadi produk yang bermanfaat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan program pengolahan sampah ini meliputi kegiatan sosialisasi tentang pengolahan sampah dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan pengolahan sampah organic secara langsung. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengolahan sampah ini berupa kompos Takakura dan ecobrik. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini masyarakat menjadi lebih memahami bahwa sampah dapat diolah kembali. Mereka sudah mulai melakukan pengolahan tersebut di rumah masing-masing terutama pengolahan sampah dapur berupa pembuatan kompos takakura.

Abstract

Di pulau Lombok terdapat beberapa jenis tumbuhan lokal yang dahulunya sering dimanfaatkan oleh masayarakat sebagai pangan alternatif. Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang tumbuhan pangan tersebut biasanya berasal dari pengalaman hidup, pengetahuan dari turun temurun dan kearifan lokal masyarakat yang perlu mendapat perhatian dalam upaya pemanfaatan yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan nilai gizi beberapa jenis tumbuhan pangan lokal yang dikenal dan sering dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai pangan alternatif. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu upaya pelestarian tumbuhan pangan lokal untuk penguatan ketahanan pangan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan enam jenis tumbuhan pangan lokal yang dipilih berdasarkan  nilai skor dan bobot tertinggi terhadap pengetahuan serta aktifitas pemanfaatan tumbuhan pangan tersebut oleh masyarakat setempat. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kandungan gizi pada tumbuhan lokal tersebut diantaranya yaitu pemanasan untuk uji kadar air (AOAC, 1970, Renggana 1979), Kjeldhal untuk uji kandungan protein, spectrometri untuk uji karbohidrat, titrasi Yodium (Jacobs) untuk uji vitamin C dan AAS flame untuk uji Ca (kalsium). Hasil yang diproleh bahwa buah Juwet/Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) memiliki kadar air yang paling tinggi diantara keenam jenis tumbuhan lokal yang diuji, kondisi ini menyebabkan buah Juwet/Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) memiliki daya simpan yang paling rendah. Kandungan karbohidrat dan vitamin C tertinggi ditemukan pada buah Bune/Buni (Antidesma burnius), karbohidrat yang tinggi diduga berasal dari kadar glukosa hal ini ditandai dengan rasa yang sangat manis pada buah tersebut. Umbi sabrang (Coleus tuberosa) memiliki kadar protein dan kalsium yang paling tinggi sehingga umbi sabrang (Coleus tuberosa) sangat baik dikonsumsi sebagai cemilan maupun pengganti nasi.Kata kunci : Nilai gizi, pangan lokal, pulau Lombok

Abstract

West Nusa Tenggara is one of the provinces in Indonesia in which the poverty rate is still high. This condition requires the government to group the community in every village such that the community can be easily controlled and trained to enhance their skills. This group is known as KUBE. Batuyang is one of the villages which was effected by the Lombok earthquake in 2018. This condition causes an economic decline in the village. Approaches should be executed to improve the welfare of the community's economy through the KUBE program in Batuyang village. The efforts of the team to achieve these goals were identifying potentials, forming KUBE, and conducting counseling and training events. Based on the identification results, the team initiated a joint business group of Tobacco and Coffee. The counseling, training, and mentoring activities carried out by the team had a positive impact which is increasing the skills of the community, especially KUBE members, in processing, packaging, and marketing their products. As an outcome, they have a high selling value which is ultimately expected to improve their economy and welfare.

Abstract

Masyarakat Hindu di Desa Jagaraga di Kabupaten Lombok Barat merupakan komunitas yang masih melakukan pengobatan tradisional menggunakan tumbuh-tumbuhan. Hal-hal terkait kearifan lokal pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai bahan obat perlu digali sebelum tergeser oleh perubahan yang selalu dinamis di masyarakat, salah satunya melalui kajian etnobotani. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan obat dan manfaatnya, mengetahui signifikansi kultural jenis-jenis tumbuhan obat bagi masyarakat setempat, serta kearifan lokal masyarakat terkait pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai bahan obat-obatan. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif eksploratif dengan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis kuantitatif didasarkan atas perhitungan Reported Use (RU), Index of Cultural Significance (ICS), dan Fidelity Level (FL) masing-masing jenis tumbuhan obat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan pemilihan narasumber berdasarkan metode purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Penelitian dilakukan pada lima dusun yang merupakan komunitas Hindu di Desa Jagaraga, Lombok Barat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh 21 spesies yang tergolong dalam 17 famili dan 20 genus. Lima jenis dengan nilai IC) tertinggi berturut-turut adalah Jatropha curcas L., Curcuma longa L., Kaempferia galanga L., Allium cepa L., dan Musa paradisiaca L. Secara umum, terdapat berbagai nilai kearifan lokal masyarakat terkait dengan pemanfaatan, pengelolaan, dan pemeliharaan jenis-jenis tumbuhan berkhasiat obat, dimana hal ini berkontribusi pada kelestarian tumbuhan dan lingkungan di sekitar wilayah kajian.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan tumbuhan lokal sebagai sumber obat-obatan merupakan alternatif yang dapat dikembangkan, tumbuhan obat dapat menjadi alternatif pilihan untuk mengobati berbagai jenis penyakit. Hal ini dikarenakan efek yang ditimbulkan dari penggunaan obat tradisional (jamu atau herbal), lebih kecil dibandingkan penggunaan obat kimia buatan (modern). Pengetahuan tradisional ini merupakan unsur budaya yang muncul dari pengalaman individu yang disebabkan adanya interaksi dengan lingkungannya dan diwariskan secara turun temurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui seberapa besar pengetahuan masyarakat tentang jenis tumbuhan obat di Kawasan TWA Madapangga. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif ekploratif, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2017. Lokasi penelitian yaitu di Desa Ndano dan TWA Madapangga. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode Purposive Sampling dan Snowball Sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan penyajian data dengan diagram batang dan teks yang bersifat naratif. Diperoleh sebanyak 10 responden yang memiliki tingkat pengetahuan lebih dari 90%, 14 responden yang memiliki tingkat pengetahuan antara 70%-90%, serta 4 responden yang memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kurang dari 70%. Hasil wawancara dan identifikasi tumbuhan, terdapat 45 spesies tumbuhan dari 27 Famili yang digunakan masyarakat di Sekitar TWA Madapangga untuk bahan pengobatan berbagai penyakit.

Abstract

The existence of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera (EPT) in a body of water can be used as indicators of the quality of the waters. The aim of this study were 1) to know the diversity of EPT insects in Jangkok River, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, 2) determine the water quality of Jangkok River based on family biotic index (FBI), and 3) to know the effect of physical, chemical, and biological of environment parameters on the presence of EPT insects. Sampling was conducted in Jangkok River, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in the dry season of July 2016. EPT groups insects were taken using water nets and eckman grab in 22 sampling points that was randomly determined in systematic random sampling. Data of physical, chemical, and biology of waters were also taken in these sampling points. Water quality is determined by the score of FBI, and the multiple correlation analysis to determine the relationship between physical and chemical parameters with the presence of EPT. Biological parameter was analyzed descriptively. The influence of biological parameter was determined by descriptive analysis. The study found 902 individuals of EPT belonging to 12 family and 12 genera. In the upstream we found 788 individuals (12 family and 12 genus), in the middlestream found 114 individuals (10 family and 10 genus), while in the downstream the EPT was absent. From the seven physical and chemical parameters of waters tested, only water temperature has significant correlation with the presence of EPT. The differences of water temperature in these area were caused by the covering and heterogeneity of the vegetation in the river side in each area. FBI score for upstream was 3.6 which indicates that the quality of the waters are very good. In the middlestream, the FBI score was 4.6, and it was categorized as good. In the downstream, results of the FBI get infinite value that entered the category as very bad.

Abstract

The seagrass community are angiosperm plant communities that mostly grow in shallow marine waters. The community has an ecological role and function, both as a habitat for various types of biota and as a carbon sink. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and condition of the seagrass ecosystem in Kelapa Island based on the percentage of cover; and to determine the estimated carbon stocks of seagrasses contained. Seagrass community data collection was carried out in September-October 2020 in the waters of Kelapa Island, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. A quadratic transect was used for data collection of seagrass cover, and analysis of seagrass community cover using the PhotoQuad application, followed by determining the condition of the seagrass community ecosystem, and analysis of estimated carbon storage using the Loss On Ignition (LOI) method. The results showed that there were 4 types of seagrass found, consisting of: Thalassia hemprichii, Halophila ovalis, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halodule pinifolia. The percentage of seagrass cover is 52.31%, because it is less than 60%, the health status of seagrass beds is unhealthy based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment Number 200 of 2004. Total carbon storage is 16.1 gr.Cm-2. Thalassia hemprichii as the highest carbon storage species was 8.27 gr.Cm-2.

Abstract

Abstract. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia establishes the competence of college graduates to master the science field and being able to apply it in daily life, one of them is to connect the learning materials with the environment and cultural surroundings through Ethnoecology. The disclosure of ideas by local communities through ethnoecological learning can strengthen the nature of meaningful learning and encourage the students' positive attitude to solve the problems wisdom. The Ethnoecology form of the Sasak Tribe in Mount Rinjani National Park Area is integrated into learning in the form of local knowledge, local intelligence, and local policies. The Ethnoecology Learning development method consisting of RPS, SAP, MFIS, and assessment instruments refer to the ADDIE development model. The Ethnoecology learning developed in this study needs to be validated by practitioners and experts. Based on the feasibility validation result of the ethnoecology learning tool belongs to the category of logical and religious validity, so that it can be used as a support in the implementation of ethnoecology learning. Abstract

Soil insects are a group of organisms whose existence is highly dependent on their microhabitat. Its presence is indispensable because of its ability to reform and decompose organic matter. The presence of soil insects illustrates the functioning of a habitat. This study aims to analyze abiotic and biotic environmental conditions in several types of soil insect habitats on the island of Lombok and securitize the level of similarity of insect species in each of these habitats. The research method used in determining the initial sample point in each habitat is purposive sampling. The parameters observed are those thought to influence the presence of soil insects, including parameters of the abiotic environment and parameters of the biotic environment. The results obtained were that the soil insects found in forest, garden, mangrove, and mining habitats had a high degree of similarity. Forest and garden habitats have a preferred micro-habitat because of the high levels of organic C, moisture, total N, and neural soil pH as environmental factors that most support the existence of soil insects
